(|============================= Iwatodai Station =============================|)
-================================================== Iwatodai City/Iwatodai ====-
The intersection of high speed rail along the coast of Tokyo and Tatsumi Port
Island's monorail line from the mainland across the sea to its artificial
island, Iwatodai Station is the cornerstone of daily life to the inhabitants of
this place. Even the most jaded salaryman could get lost in the experience of
looking out upon the glittering sea as they ride across it to their daily life.

A multi-story strip mall across the street from the station offers students such
selections as Wakatsu for sushi high in omega-3s to increase that brain power,
Hagakure Ramen with all the collagen you could desire for skin care, or even
Wilduck's infamous Mystery Burger for those who desire an impromptu test of
courage. Net cafes selling some of the latest releases and hole-in-the-wall
bookstores give people endless options of what to do with their evening.

With this blend of local flavor and modern convenience, Iwatodai Station truly
is the ideal option to stop by whether you're coming or going home.

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
June is the rainy season in Japan, and accordingly, most days during the month are drizzly at best. Umbrellas are common, and for those who've forgotten theirs, woe be upon them.

But it's not all bad, either. Rain is just as important for flowers as shine, and Jun Kashihara is particularly concerned with flowers. He's in Port Island to pick up an order of flowers he put in--as he was informed over the phone by an apologetic florist, the rain meant a delay in getting it delivered from this branch to his home. He offered to come by himself, and they agreed--and so he's here now!

It's a long trip from Sumaru to Port Island, admittedly. There's a lot of transfers, including from Iwatodai to Port Island itself. Still, Jun considers it worth it. After that run-in with Aragaki the other day, he's a little curious about the state of Port Island and Gekkoukan besides.

The outskirts of Port Island Station are a seedy place, only a street or two away from the stairs that lead down from the train line proper--but the station itself is nice enough. The local branch of Rafflesia is right next to it, an open-air affair with a florist standing out front in sunny weather. She's a bit further in right now, naturally. The area is clean, with a fountain to one side and flower boxes in a row nearby. There's a cafe, a movie theatre, and of course vending machines--but that's not what Jun is here for, so we won't go into those.

"Thank you very much for your order," the florist is saying, bowing deeply to Jun as he accepts his bouquets. "As thanks for your willingness to come out all this way, I've thrown in a couple of long-stem roses as a bonus. I hope you like them."

"Ah, so that's why. Thank you very much, miss," Jun says, smiling at her as he cradles a pair of motley flower bouquets in one arm while he holds a green umbrella with the other. "I'll be sure to find a place for them." Even if there's no one in particular he would give a ''red'' rose to right now... The very idea is embarrassing at best. Maybe he'll give them to his father to surprise his mother with. The idea pleases him.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
Why did the switch to summer uniforms have to happen right when it was the rainy season, anyway? Oh well. Ririka did, at least, remember her umbrella--mostly because it's part of a list of things she keeps together with her backpack.

And unlike a certain Cuss High student, it's not ''as'' far out of Ririka's way to come here. Port Island has been her home now for 10 years, and she has to get to the station to get back to her new dorm near Iwatodai station anyway.

Walking up is a rather tall female student, with long straight brown-black hair, and red eyes. She looks... maybe a bit distracted or lost in thought, doing little more than watching for sidewalk traffic as she walks. She's in uniform, long-sleeved white shirt, with a purple bow, black skirt, and calf-high black boots. And her umbrella is a dark purple.

She looks a little surprised to see someone in a Cuss High uniform but she doesn't remark on it. Instead she stands a respectful distance back, letting Jun complete his transaction... and then she steps up. "Good afternoon," she says with a polite smile. "I'm here to pick up an order for Ririka Kawase?"

It's white chrysanthemums and gardenias. The former wouldn't be out of place in a funeral, but the latter carry a different connotation.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
<poem>
Miho has an umbrella today. She doesn't have a pre-order of flowers, though. She happened to be on Port Island on business, and here at the station, she noticed the flowers. So...

It's a lovely area, at least. So, a woman in a pressed suit walks down the stairs with her umbrella, and around to the shop. It's a woman's suit, of course--no tie, cut closer to the body than a man's might be. But she cuts a handsome figure regardless, with short green hair and a height of six feet, over 180cm.

Even taller than Ririka.

Her umbrella is green. And she pauses, looking at the others. "Hmmm," she says. "It would seem I'll have to wait."

A pause. "But it's good to see people appreciating good flowers. Those roses... Do you have any more of them, Miss?"

She'll wait her turn, but if there aren't more roses, she wants to know now.

She thoughtfully considers the arrangement of crysanthemums, though. "Hmmm. Lovely choice."
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
<poem>The long trip from Sumaru City to Port Island is a familiar one to Shinobu. She looks for local work, usually - but sometimes she has to take what she can get.

Today, that means running some errands for someone. If she knew it would rain today, she would've turned down the job - she had to pick up an umbrella on the way here, so she's just a ''little'' drenched at the moment.

And right now, this brings her to Rafflesia - this is actually the ''third'' stop, so she's already carrying a few heavy bags with her in addition to her usual duffle bag. Those are occupying one hand, while the other is carrying a list of flowers. It's partially wet from the rain, but she remembers the contents, at least.

It would have been ''so'' much easier on everyone if her client had made the order ahead of time.

She hears Miho mention the roses and looks up. She looks at her, then briefly toward Jun and Ririka. Two teenagers in school uniforms, and a woman in a remarkable suit.

And then there's her, in an old jacket and t-shirt - and, she notices, the shortest of the four of them. It's a good thing she isn't the self-conscious type.

"I need to know that too." Shinobu comments about the roses - but she realises that might sound rude a second after and amends with a nod toward Miho, "...But you can have first dibs."
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
White chrysanthemums and gardenias... That's a heartbreaking mix. As Jun pays for his bouquets and turns, stepping to one side to let Ririka come next, he peeks over at her own arrangement, and it strikes him immediately that this is a pairing to be left on a grave. The mums for grief, and gardenias for a quiet love that still lingers... This is a bouquet for someone who still mourns.

Jun does not say as much. It's none of his business, and he doesn't even know if the girl picking it up is Ririka Kawase herself, but he does give Ririka herself a concerned look.

Getting a better look at her, though... She does bear a resemblance to a certain other extremely tall girl he knows, whose surname is ''also'' Kawase. Hmmm.

His gaze travels up to an ''even taller'' woman who asks after buying some roses for herself. "Not for much longer, I think," he remarks before glancing next at Shinobu. Red roses... A gift for a lover, though they're so ubiquitous theses days that they could be for just about anything.

Fortunately, there are plenty more roses available for Miho and Shinobu both, as the florist will let her know once Ririka's transaction is done.

He'll take his leave in a moment, but curiosity about "Ririka Kawase" has him lingering for a bit. For now, he looks back out at the rain. It's starting to pour a little harder... How unfortunate. It'll probably still be raining by the time he makes it back home.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
Ririka turns her head as Miho comments on her choice in flowers, reflexively looking down... and then she blinks and has to hastily raise her eyeline ''up'' to look at Miho. It's a momentary, reflexive adjustment, but it happens nontheless.

She smiles politely. "Oh, thank you, miss. They're..." She pauses a moment. "... a gift," she finally settles on.

She glances over to Shinobu as she arrives--here the expectation to look down holds--who ''also'' asks about roses, like Miho did. Luckily(?) for her, she doesn't really need any roses for herself.

Jun has the right of it. Calling them a 'gift' is... not ''innacurate'', but definitely not telling the full story. It would explain, though, her otherwise slightly distracted look, the slight strain to her smile, the hesitation to select a word to describe them.

She ''does'' bear a certain resemblance to a certain other Kawase student. If not the height (which to be fair is a lot of it), they also share the same red eyes.

But Ririka offers the shopkeeper a polite bow as she gets her arrangement. It's a very small arrangement, meant more for a small vase. "Thank you very much," she says, politely, then turns.

She's about to leave but sees the worsening rain and hesitates, and instead just shuffles off to the side awkwardly in the limited space to let Miho up to the counter. After a moment of waiting she instead looks to Jun. "You came a really long way for these flowers, huh?" She means the Kasu uniform, of course, but there's a polite smile and no real sense of judgment in her voice over his school.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
<poem>
Miho recognizes flowers that could be funerary when she sees them, too. But she doesn't immediately comment on that aloud. Instead, she notices Shinobu--who offers her first dibs. Miho nods. "Thank you," she says.

As it happens, there's enough! Miho puts on a small, amused sort of smile. "Indeed. Not for much longer."

She looks back to Ririka then, and she sees the distraction, the strain, the hesitation. "Whateveryou call them," she says, "I'm sure they will be worthy." It's not like her to be overkind... But she knows loss, too.

"I'd like a dozen of those roses, please," Miho says once it's her turn, and does not specify for whom they are. It could certainly be a lover. She isn't saying unless she's asked, and then... maybe.

"Hmm..."

"A Kasugayama uniform..." She considers Shinobu, and then Jun. "You left the flowers for me, even though you wanted them yourself. I appreciate that." And then to Jun, "...You wouldn't happen to have had a dance class recently, would you?"
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
<poem>Shinobu doesn't ''quite'' know flower language, beyond the common ones that most people know. She doesn't immediately recognize the meaning behind the flowers Ririka's picking up... though she at least has enough tact not to comment on a stranger's purchase. A gift, though, hm?

She nods toward Miho, and when makes him comment, she cracks a slight smirk.

"Good timing, I guess." She comments. His eyes track to his uniform. Kasugayama, huh... She's an Akiyama graduate, herself - before it burned down, of course - so she has an idea of what that's like. Kids there have it hard enough as it is without adults judging them for it - so she doesn't.

When it's her turn at the counter, she lists off her order. ...Where there's amiguity in Miho's order, Shinobu's is ''definitely'' the kind of bouquet someone forms for a love confession - and maybe one coming on a bit overly strong.

It wasn't her idea. That may not be immediately obvious, though.

"You asked first." Shinobu replies with a shrug at Miho's comment. "Just how it goes."

She glances upward briefly. It's still raining pretty hard... She shifts her umbrella just so, to give this impromptu group a little extra coverage.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
Ririka claims the bouquet is a gift. That might be believable if not for how distracted and strained she looks. Watching her, Jun feels certain she is indeed Ririka Kawase. And if she's related to Ichika...

"Ah, yes, I did," Jun utters, realizing that he's been observed in turn. He laughs a little. "The rain was going to delay my order delivery, and I didn't feel like waiting." ''A flower's life is so brief,'' he considers saying, but opts not to. It feels insensitive at best. Instead, he's about to ask if she's related to his classmate--

"Hm? Yes," Jun utters, eyes widening at Miho, who beats him to a keen observation. He shares one in return, and wonders, "Are you by chance acquainted with Ooshiro-sensei?" The roses wouldn't necessarily have to be for her, but that seems like the likeliest person from whom Miho might have heard about recent dance lessons at Kasugayama High.

He observes Shinobu's order, because it's a more joyous one and that's pleasant to see. Maybe a bit overeager, though... He looks at her thoughtfully. A bouquet that ostentatious, it's hard to image a woman giving to a man. A smile curls up his lips. It's sweet to see people like him in public--even if she probably doesn't mean to have given herself away. Well, he certainly won't out a stranger in public. When she looks over his uniform, he gives her a polite nod in greeting.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
'Whatever you call them' Ririka tenses up just a bit, fearing being discovered. The fingertips on the hand holding her umbrella tap just a little bit at the handle. Not a lot, just a slow pulse. "Thank you," she says, a touch more softly, to 'worthy.'

Ririka will appreciate Shinobu's discresion. Any further examination of her motives might just cause her more worry as it is. But Ririka does take an interest, for a moment, in Miho and Shinobu's orders. A dozen roses... and a very forward arrangement.

She can't help but wonder, a little, who they might be for. She doesn't say anything, but it's not hard to catch her watching, for a moment.

But small talk is a useful distraction. Jun explains about picking up the order. "Oh, I see. It's fortunate you were able to make the trip out here. I had to head to the station anyway, so... I just picked mine up."

She might be grasping for conversational straws.

But she does look on with interest as Miho takes an educated guess about Jun--and is ''correct''. She doesn't say anything, but there is a surprised--and impressed-look on her face.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
<poem>
Miho loves flowers, but has also studied poisons. The two are quite related, as it happens.

Ririka may be tense, but Miho isn't going to 'out' what she suspects is true for her. She has said enough; Ririka understands her meaning. And, well...

"Hmm," she says. A very affectionate order indeed. And Jun answers. "I am," Miho says. "She is my closest friend," Miho says, and it's not quite a lie, because it's also the truth. "She mentioned a few students who particularly stood out to her, and you matched the description of one."

Fortunate, and...

"Allow me to cover your order," Miho says to Shinobu. "It is a minor debt, giving up a place for mine without argument, but I will repay it all the same."

She insists!
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
<poem>Shinobu glances briefly between Jun and Miho. He mentions an 'Ooshiro-sensei' - a friend of Miho's, apparently. A chance connection, it seems. Jun offers her a nod - and she gives him a nod right back. If she realises he's figured out an aspect of her past, she doesn't bring it up - she's fine leaving that unspoken between the two of them.

Tthough she's distracted briefly when she catches Ririka taking note of the order - enough that she doesn't immediately know how to respond when Miho makes her offer.

"Uh -" She starts. "...Thanks, but... it isn't ''mine''. Is that still okay with you?"

That explains that, then. The money isn't hers, either.

Mostly. She got shorted a little, but not enough to be worth making an argument about.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
"I expect you live in the area," Jun remarks to Ririka, "given your own Gekkoukan High uniform." He pauses in reflection; then he adds, "Are you, by any chance, acquainted with someone named Aragaki?" He smiles. "It's fine if you aren't. I'm merely curious." Aragaki himself said he mostly plays hooky, so it's entirely possible she just... doesn't.

Flowers and poisons... They're very intimately connected, aren't they? Even seemingly innocent flowers like lily-of-the-valley can be deadly. What sort of flower would best represent Miho, one wonders? Maybe when Jun figures that out, he'll present of sprig of it to her...

But right now she's an acquaintance at best. He at least smiles at the mention of Yua having mentioned him. "Is that so? I'm happy to hear that. I'm quite fond of Ooshiro-sensei, myself." He glances at her red, red roses, then asks casually, "Are those for her?"

But then Shinobu says the roses ''she's'' getting aren't for her. "Oh?" Jun utters, eyebrows rising. "Do you mean they're also a gift, or are you picking them up on someone else's behalf?"

It's not his business, he knows, but... he's ''just'' proud enough to want to know if he was right or wrong about his conclusion about her.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
It's certainly a good thing that there is only this one thing for Ririka to be outed about and not more.

"They're lovely flowers," Ririka comments, pleasantly, of Miho's order. Then Miho makes an offer to Shinobu. "Oh, how generous," she comments quietly, mostly to herself.

""I'm sure whoever receives those is also very lucky," she says about Shinobu's flowers. But--they're not ''hers''. "Oh! I'm sorry, I shouldn't have assumed."

... Well that turned awkward.

Jun saves her with a question, at least. "Oh, I do," she says of living in the area. Recognizing the uniform is a surprise, but that name... she considers for a moment. "No, I'm sorry, that name isn't familiar. Do they go to Gekkoukan, too?"

She definitely doesn't play hooky.

But her attention is back to Miho once Jun asks that question.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
<poem>
Aragaki. Is that name important? Probably not. But one never knows. File it away...

Just like Jun perhaps may one day find that ideal flower. Anyway who has won over Yua gets at least a boost in Miho's esteem, though. "I'm glad to hear that in turn," she says to Jun, and inclines her head. "Yes, they are." She doesn't make excuses, but neither does she confirm that they're ''explicitly romantic''. It's a delicate balance, staying out of view in that way. Awkwaaaard happens to Ririka, but as to Miho and Shinobu:

"That's fine," Miho says. "In that case, keep the money for yourself. It's quite all right with me. As I said... I pay debts, even when they are small." A pause. "Is that to mean that you are delivering them for someone else?"
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
<poem>Aragaki, huh? That's a name Shinobu remembers - from an after-hours investigation of Kasugayama of all places, in fact. Is it the same Aragaki? She thought he was a student there, but mentioning Gekkoukan...

Ririka says that whoever is to receive her flowers is very lucky... She has to try very hard not to comment on that, though it's easy to tell a part of her ''wants'' to say something.

Client confidentiality is important, after all.

She shakes her head, though, when she apologizes.

"...Nah. It's no big deal. It's reasonable to think that." She assures, then looks toward Miho as she says to keep the money for herself.

"...Won't say no, then. Thanks." She replies. She's not really in a position where she can turn down the gesture. She looks between Jun as he asks his question, and Miho, as she comes to about the same conclusion.

"That, yeah." She confirms with a nod, on delivering them from someone. "Just acting as an in-between, right now."
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
"Ahh, I see," Jun muses, considering Shinobu's answer. Then perhaps that's why it's such a showy bouquet. Alas, he was so eager to see someone else like him that he jumped to conclusions... "Please forgive my nosiness," he adds.

"So he claimed," Jun tells Ririka with a slight shrug. "As I said, I was only curious." He tilts his handsome face at her and adds, "A more relevant question would be--do you happen to be related to one Ichika Kawase? She's one of my classmates, you see--" He smiles. "And you bear a ''striking'' resemblance."

Especially with the height.

Jun hmmms thoughtfully as Miho confirms it. Red roses are for passionate love--but as he silently acknowledged earlier, they're such a ubiquitous gift these days that it doesn't necessarily mean anything. But it is something he makes note of. This stately woman is close friends with his sensei, after all.

"I'm so sorry, I haven't introduced myself, have I?" he adds then, nodding to Ririka and Miho in turn. (There isn't really a need for him to introduce himself to Shinobu--sorry, Shinobu. But you'll hear anyway.) "I'm Jun Kashihara. As you may already know, I'm a third-year at Kasugayama High School." He looks up at Miho. "And you are?"

He already knows Ririka's name, after all.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
Ririka can think of plenty of non-romantic reasons to give someone flowers. If this Ooshiro is a dancer, then they could be a gift for a performance, for instance...

Ririka can ''also'' think of several romantic reasons, though, and she glances off to the side a little, her cheeks tinged a little red. "I'm sure she'll appreciate them," she says somewhat neutrally.

But Shinobu clarifies, and Ririka smiles a little gratefully for it not being a concern. "Well, then whoever you're picking them up for is lucky to have someone so dedicated to it." Given, you know, the weather.

But her attention is drawn back to Jun. "Oh, sorry. I don't exactly know everyone there, after all, so he could be..." But then there's a more relevant question-- "Oh! Yes, Ichika-chan is my older sister." A ''striking'' resemblance.

He must mean the height, surely?

The smile is a bit awkward. "That's not very surprising. We both do stand out, don't we...?"

"Oh, it's a pleasure to meet you, Kashihara-san. You probably already heard, but I'm Ririka Kawase, I'm a second-year at Gekkoukan High School." Yes, she said her name earlier, but... they've been having a conversation, of sorts, so it only feels right to do it properly.

Anybody well steeped in classical music might recognize her name, though, as a highly skilled pianist for her age.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
<poem>
Miho makes no comment as to Ririka's red cheeks.

She considers. A striking resemblence between two sisters... Hm. Probably not important.

"In that case," Miho says to Shinobu, "Do you have a business card? I often have need of a courier, and another name to call upon would be welcome."

A pause, because Jun has asked an introduction, and she wants to include Shinobu in it with a look. "I am Miho Ijuuin," she introduces herself. "I'm a athlete by vocation; I fence for Japan." She has another job... but it's not as important as the Olympics. She does mention, "Though I maintain a business relationship with the Katou Corporation as well."

A pause. "Ririka Kawase," she confirms, "The young pianist? Perhaps we'll speak again sometime, then. I believe it is important to encourage the arts in young people especially."

A pause. She looks out to the rain. "...But I am keeping my driver waiting. It is a pleasure to meet all of you."

She will wait for Shinobu's answer--and then take herself and her flowers away.
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
<poem>"No trouble. Can't blame you for being curious." Shinobu replies with a shake of her head toward Jun. It doesn't bother ''her'', anyway, and he was polite enough about it. She looks toward Ririka, then.

"We'll see, I guess." She replies. "Good luck on your end, too."

Miho asks if she has a card.

"Uh - just a second." Shinobu says. She has to metaphorically juggle the bags she's carrying to draw it out from her jacket, offering it to her. As far as business cards go, it's fairly simple - just a name and phone number, and a list of unavailable days on the back.

Jun introduces himself, and she listens as everyone introduces themselves in turn. Kashihara, Kawase, Ijuuin... She's not familiar enough with the classical music scene to recognize Ririka - but she's into sports enough that she ''does'' recognize Miho's name. Recognition flashes across her face, but she doesn't comment on it.

"Shinobu Shimizu. I do a little bit of everything, not just courier work." She introduces herself - and nods. "Yeah. Nice to meet you all, too."
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Jun Kashihara has posed.
<poem>
As a keyboard player himself, it ''is'' tempting for Jun to ask if she's ''the'' Ririka Kawase. But it is a bit rude, especially in mixed company. Having a famous actress for a mother (though she goes by her maiden name professionally) has taught Jun that celebrities would rather cherish their down time when they have it... especially if she's collecting a bouquet for someone's grave.

So Jun merely nods. He gives a faint, wry smile when Miho recognizes her out loud anyway, right after introducing herself at length. He's not as much about the Olympics, himself, so he wouldn't have recognized her without it, in fairness.

"I should be on my way myself. I have a long several train rides home," Jun says. "It was a pleasure to meet all of you, Ririka-san, Ijuuin-san, Shimizu-san. Please do stay dry out there." And with that, he'll hurry out into the rain under his umbrella. At least he only has to round the stairwell and go up to the station to get to his train--which, fortunately, he'll make just in time. How fortuitous!
</poem>

<Pose Tracker> Ririka Kawase has posed.
<poem>
A fencer ''for'' Japan. "Oh, wow! That's amazing." Sadly, the Olympiocs don't have skateboarding as a sport, so she doesn't pay particular attention to them, most of the time. (She'll have to wait 8 more years for that.)

But then she is ''recognized''. She laughs, a mixture of politeness and a touch of nervousness. "Oh, yes, that's me. If you've heard my piano playing, I hope it pleased you." (A driver? Wow!)

Good luck, Shinobu says. Ririka nods, her gaze drifting downwards for just a moment. "... Thank you."

But there are introductions, and Ririka nods to Niho and Shinobu in turn. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Ijuuin-san, Shimizu-san."

Alas, perhaps another time Jun and Ririka can compare notes. June makes his exist, and Ririka carefully clutches her flowers while opening her umbrella. "I suppose ssince the rain isn't letting up, I should leave, too. It was nice meeting all of you. Take care."

She'll be heading to the train station, too, following after Jun. Luckily, her stop is only one away.
</poem>
