Active Rumors

OOC Foreword: This page is a staff curated list of active rumors. Anything on this list has taken long-term effect through the power of Kotodama and is public for characters to know. This does not mean that players cannot create rumors in game and/or even spread them ICly, just that those rumors won't have Kotodama backing them up. For Kotodama to work its 'magic' on a given rumor, you must submit a request to staff by email. If the request is approved, then it will be posted on this list. Rumors that cause a Monad to exist for a one-shot will be handled on submission of the Monad.

The only type of Kotodama Rumors that will be accepted by the staff that aren't on this list or within a Monad are those that are one-shot jokes that do not heavily alter either reality or the status quo and are brief enough as to end with the scene in which they feature.

Note: This list is not all inclusive. The New World Order for example has many secret rumors they are currently utilizing. Their organization is large enough and has enough supernatural backing that they don't require the spread of Rumors the normal way. We still encourage players of the NWO to submit active rumors for post on this page so players can know the cool stuff you're doing ICly.

Active Rumors

• Joker Killer - If you call your own phone number and give a name to the person who answers, then the Joker Killer will show up and murder them. Scary!

• Power that Emblem Holds - The Seven Sisters School Emblem will protect someone from the Joker Killer so long as they have it on them.

• Parabellum's Shady Business! - Parabellum Bar in Aoba Ward sells weapons. Don't talk about gun control in front of this bartender.

• Rosa Candida's Shady Business! - The boutique Rosa Candida in Aoba Ward now sells quality armor. The proprietor is still a little snooty.

• New Service Available at the Time Castle - The Time Count will both sells and duplicate cards for Persona Users. One may have to endure a creepier vibe than the Velvet Room.

• The Sumaru Genie's Ill Luck - The Sumaru Genie's fortune-telling is terrible; they always get it wrong. Perhaps they'd have more luck if they tried Wang Long fortune-telling.

• Battlemaster Prizes - The Battlemaster Magazine has a sweepstakes for quality accessories.

• Miracle Magazines Prizes - The Miracle Magazine has a sweepstakes for spell cards!? Perhaps they think they're a new CCG trend...

• No Smoking For Delinquents - The Leader at Kasugayama High has forbidden smoking. Anyone who tries to light up on campus always regrets it before they even take the first puff, as the Leader somehow always knows... no matter the hour.

• Club Zodiac is Like a Maze! - The back rooms of Club Zodiac are like a confusing labyrinth. The only people that seem to understand the way through are the Tien Tao Lien who have set up shop there.

• No Personas at the Giga Macho - This is the worst: the Demons at the Giga Macho have spread a rumor so that Persona can't be summoned there. Retail work has never been more dangerous.

• There's a Casino at Mu - The Mu Continent game center has become a casino! How can that even happen? Aren't casinos illegal in Japan? Oh wait, so are guns... Rumors sure are a thing.

• Mementos - The latest hot test of courage among school kids is to say 'Mementos' five times into a bathroom mirror at a train or bus station. It's said if you can manage it, then you'll be spirited away, but most people can't get past three before chickening out! Wait, are you saying that there have been a lot of missing person's reports related to this? Scary!

• Peacock Silk is On Fire! - Not literally. The hottest new boutique in Shimokitozawa Tokyo, Peacock Silk, offers secret services to Persona Users of all stripes, and can even manage that cognitive junk that's been building up. Rumormonger Toro gives Peacock Silk 5 out of 5 stars for service - 'They even have a REAL talking Peacock! Holy-' Glorious.
