- Summary: While shopping for new models guns for the team, Ren runs into Yukari. The two of them discuss both Ren's ex-girlfriend Minako and their current girlfriend Makoto, with apologies from Yukari for misunderstanding the situation.

"What the hell, kid," Iwai utters, looking over Ren's battered and sliced-up Makaronov model gun from where he sits at the front of his military shop, Untouchable Airsofts. "How'd you get this thing so banged up?"
Ren shrugs. It is Saturday, a half-day at school, and they're taking advantage of the early dismissal to replace it. They can't well take this into Futaba's Palace later today in the shape it's in. "Some guy came at me with a blade. I used what I had to get away."
"What, you tried to scare him off with it? Gutsy move. Better it than you, though."
Ren can certainly agree with that. They say nothing.
"I could fix it up, but it's not worth bothering. Those kind of repairs will make it look cheap and fake."
"That's okay. I could use an upgrade anyhow."
Iwai peers at them. Ren meets his stare with an impassive look. Then he utters a low 'tch' as he chews on the lollipop stick in his mouth. "Whatever. These are the goods I got right now. Take a look."
As Iwai pulls out a display of the model guns he's currently got for sale, Ren takes back the damaged Makaronov. Is it weird that they're a little relieved to have an excuse to leave it as is?
Definitely weird, they decide. But who cares. They tuck it away in their bag, where Morgana rides, and look over the model handguns on the "special menu."
To anyone walking in just now for the first time, they look extremely real, to the point that one might reasonably believe they are.

Yukari steeled herself, for this part, checking the directions again, before turning into the back alley then stopped.
Staring at the door to the Airsoft shop, then looks at the name of the shop. Then back up again. She then sighs to herself.
"Okay you can do this."
Then she second guesses herself.
"Dangit... They're gonna think I'm a real weirdo... what kind of girl shops here? It's all military Otaku and the like."
Okay, act casual. Keep your excuse at the forefront of your mind, and- go.
Yukari forced her feet to obey, as she entered the story with a chime of bells. She's not really looking at the other customer at first- just adjusting her purse over her shoulder.
She's currently dressed in her casual, fuzzy off the shoulder winter dress, with a black mini-skirt as she walks up to the counter.
"Hey there. I'm in my school's Archery Club- and I was told you sell some Tactical Compound Bow-"
She finally glances down at the transaction, and parsing it as a real gun, even though she knows it's an airsoft shop-
"-Huh, just like in Sumar-"
Her eyes then follow up to the other occupant of the store making that transaction while she's mid sentence. "-U DOING HERE?!" As she literally recoils in alarm at the realization that it's Ren Amamiya.
"Are you-"
She doesn't quite get the question out, but- it's obvious she's wondering if Ren is just making a transaction for a firearm.
A totally normal guy thing to do.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
The door chimes. Iwai looks up, but Ren continues to browse. There's a lot of very nice new model guns available. Right away, he spots one that looks like it'd be perfect for Ann, and one that look promising for Makoto given that they're heading into a pyramid in the middle of a desert. They're having trouble deciding on which handguns they'd like best for themself, though.
They look up when they realize they know that voice. They look over at Yukari wide-eyed in time for her to look at them and YELP about it in horror. They look down at the rack, then back at her in growing alarm, instantly realizing the misunderstanding. "Uh--"
"Heh. They're models, little lady. No need to panic," Iwai cuts in then, sliding her a half-smile. "Everything here's aboveboard."
Ren knows this is a flagrant lie. They do not comment on it, because they're absolutely complicit in it as a part-timer here. Their own expression settles back into neutrality and they nod once, hands slipping back into their pockets. They're not happy to see her; they and Minako broke up on good terms, but they wouldn't be surprised if her best friend hated them for breaking her heart anyway. Even though they were the one who got broken up with. "Hey, Takeba-san," they say, tone bland.
"You know this chick?" Iwai asks them, smile fading.
"Yeah, sort of..."
"Hm." He looks back at her, eyes assessing under the brim of his cap. "You were sayin' something about a tactical compound bow?"
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
'Heh. They're models, little lady. No need to panic, Everything here's aboveboard.'
"O-Oh of course they are. Haha- silly me." As she rubs the side of her face in embarrassment, "They just look so similar to the ones they sell in Sumaru."
It's weird that someone she didn't expect to be here sort of vouches for her. "Hey, Amamiya-san." Before she looks at Iwai and says, "Well, while he already said- it's Yukari Takeba."
The guy in front of them looks pretty rough, but as he asks her about the bows, she shrugs, "Yeah. Not for hunting or anything of course."
Bow hunting is illegal in Japan after all, "I mostly do Kyudo Archery with my club, but I'd like to get some practice with bows that require a greater draw weight. Do you have anything that's at least fifty kilos max? Ideally can adjust up to seventy?"
Iwai might wonder about that at first, given that most advanced Kyudo bows only go up to twenty-three kilos or so. Can a girl really handle something like that but take a closer look and while Yukari is a skinny thing, those arms are definitely toned for this, and while manicured, the calluses on her hands are there.
And well Ren of course knows that she's using it for more than just ranges- even if Yukari herself doesn't know that.
"It's okay if you don't have any in today either, if you can order something like that, that'd be enough."
She's trying not to STARE at Ren, so she's instead looking at Iwai. Is Ren some kind of military Otaku??? Did Minako know that? Maybe it's none of her business!!!
Oh lord, knowing this guy even casually just gets weirder and more complicated every minute.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
They just look so similar to the ones they sell in Sumaru.
"..." Iwai responds. He does not stop peering at her. "The name's Iwai. I'm the proprietor here," he does at least introduce himself in return.
Ren, of course, already knows what she's talking about and why she'd be talking about it. Once the two of them exchange pleasantries, they go back to inspecting the models. The problem is that there's a lot of good guns... Do they want to pick something that looks more standard-realistic but kind of boring, or do they want something more flashy? That all-gold one sure is eye-catching.
Meanwhile, Yukari makes her request. "Huh," Iwai utters. His eyes go down to her arms, then back up to her face. She already gave her excuse, that she wants to practice with it; looking at her, it's not completely illogical. He clearly makes the decision not to ask questions. "I could order somethin' like that, sure. How much you willing to pay?"
Once Yukari names her ceiling, he nods. "Give me a moment. I'll see if there's anything with your specifications in your price range." With that, he'll walk off into the back room.
Meaning Yukari and Ren are alone.
Ren is also avoiding looking at Yukari. They are starting to sweat, but manage to maintain their cool exterior. They at least pick out the Icy Revolver for Makoto and the Scarlet Rose for Ann and sets them both on the counter, but they really need something for themself...
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
"Nice to meet you, Iwai-san." She is at least respectful to him, because despite his rough appearance, he's not been rude- or anything.
And when she makes her request, he at least takes it seriously rather than dressing her down for being ridiculous.
She's definitely had some folks who don't take her archery aspirations seriously in shops just because she's a girl.
She cites a price to him, that's definitely at least worth his time.
"I appreciate that, thanks."
Then he just leaves the room! Leaving both of them together.
Awkward.
But as they're not saying anything, she decides to break the silence.
"So ah, been a while. Since... the Volleyball Tournament?"
...
...
...
...
"I met Niijima-san the other day. She's... really cute. I can see why you'd ask her out."
Is she messing with them!? Is this passive aggression over Minako? Or- does she really mean that, without any animosity?
It's hard to tell, with her current tone?
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
SUPER awkward.
"...Yeah." That feels like a long while ago now, even though it was only at the end of August. Just a little over two months.
...
...
...
...
They glance at her, a touch of wariness in their posture, when she brings up Makoto. It is hard to tell with her current tone... but they decide to give her the benefit of the doubt. They and Minako stayed friends, and it's not like Minako would just not tell Yukari what happened after she got so upset with Ren about not telling their friends about her, right?
So: "Yeah," they repeat, this time standing a little straighter--enough to dispel the wariness. "She's a close friend, and she was really supportive after Minako-chan and I broke up. So... I went for it."
They pause. "...How's Minako-chan doing?"
Yukari might note that they called her just 'Minako' before.
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
Only two months? An eternity to a high schooler in love!
One of her arms crosses over to the other, the other hanging loosely in a posture that's a little guarded herself.
But also self-conscious.
Because of what happened the other day with Makoto. She should just come clean really...
"Yeah... I can, see that. She said you both met because you helped her with some trouble she was having."
Before Minako and Ren were dating but she's not going to bring that point up.
'... How's Minako-chan doing?'
There's a sort of inhalation- then an audible exhalation at that, into a sigh, as she looks away from him.
"She's hanging in there of course. To anyone who didn't know her- they'd probably have no clue she'd recently broken up with anyone. But... well. She's way more fragile than she seems, underneath that smile of hers."
That probably doesn't make Ren feel at all better, but it's the truth, at least. Minako hasn't spoken about it to her. And she knows how much it can hurt her to force her to confront what she's concealing.
So, she hasn't.
"I should... just come out and say it I guess. Since she wouldn't talk to me and- with all those rumors being thrown about about the two of you. I just wanted someone to blame- to do something about it."
Since Minako hasn't spoken about it yet.
"So I blamed Niijima-san for it. Iiii really went after her for what I thought was going on."
She looks back his way, though she's not exactly making eye contact, "Butttt I was completely out of line. It took only a couple of minutes to realize she's just not that kind of girl who would do that. I apologized and we had a pretty nice talk after but-"
...
...
...
"-it felt like she just might not say anything about it to you. Maybe to spare me even? And- well, I'm not gonna hide it from you just because you might think less of me because of it."
Well at least she's honest about it rather than concealing it - which would be way easier in this awkward moment, but she's preparing herself for any backlash that just might result from it.
Maybe Ren took her coming at them pretty well- but she's not sure they'll feel the same way about her coming at Makoto.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
"Yeah. That's basically it," Ren says of how they and Makoto met. It's more complicated than that, but it's as much as they're willing to explain, especially if Makoto already said something to her about it.
Yukari inhales about Minako; Ren knows instantly it's not good news. They look over at Yukari, concern writ in their dark eyes. Those eyes sink to the floor when she explains that she's fragile beneath that sunny smile she puts on. "..."
But then she says that Minako hasn't told her anything, and they gawk at her in genuine surprise. "Wait, she hasn't?" Yukari isn't done talking, though, so they purse their lips and nod her on, this time turning to face her as she speaks. They haven't heard about this either, and it's also surprising to them that Yukari would go out of their way to tell them.
They respect that about her, honestly. They can see why and how she's Minako's best friend. They suppose it's easier for the two of them, both being red-armband Persona Users.
"Well... thanks for telling me. Obviously I'm not thrilled you attacked Makoto, but it sounds like you two already worked it out," they reply. That being the case, they don't see any reason to get mad at Yukari, especially if Makoto is not likely to tell them what happened. They already know that Yukari cares passionately about protecting Minako; they don't hold that against her.
But...
"So... Minako-chan really didn't tell you anything about it?"
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
"Not at all." She answers Ren on the fact that Minako hasn't said anything. Which is really kind of the problem for her. She's new to letting her care for people again.
And now that she's let herself, she cares as ferociously as she might for her Father.
Especially in their defense.
She tells Ren about her complete misstep, and he thanks her, to which she nods, "Yeah, I think we have." Though maybe Makoto's still dwelling on it? Maybe she's mulling it over- there were things Yukari said that looked like they took her totally flat footed.
Which is why she realized eventually that Makoto wasn't- someone who seemed to understand the social rules between girls.
"But still, if you two wanted to avoid me from now on- I'd get it."
She's at least giving them permission to be mad even if they took it well- they don't even have to tell her. Girl code is clear, she got Minako in the 'Divorce'. They don't have to interact.
But she is anyway. Funny that.
Ren though asks the question again, and she shakes her head, "No. Not a thing. And well... maybe you shouldn't tell me either. It feels unfair to her if I went to you to find out something she might not want to say."
She looks a little vulnerable admitting that, even though she definitely wants to know.
She just has to consign herself on being helpless to do anything - other than be there when Minako is ready to talk.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
They don't have to interact, but they're two people standing next to each other in a shop where they're the only ones in the room. It's hard to just outright ignore someone for that long--who knows how long it'll take Iwai to look up a weapon like what Yukari requested?
They do appreciate that Yukari not only gives them permission to ignore her from now on, but also to not tell her anything about the break-up. Ren looks over at her for a long moment before they bow their head a bit with a faint huff of a breath.
"Well... maybe not. But for what it's worth, we're still friends." They think. She hasn't talked to them since the break-up, and in fairness, they haven't reached out to her either. They kind of immediately asked Makoto out, then got caught up in midterms, then went on an overnight trip with Akechi, and now that's been complicating their feelings--to say nothing of Futaba's Palace... They honestly haven't had a lot of time to think about Minako. Mission accomplished, they guess. "The ultra-simple version is that things weren't working out, so we agreed to end it. I'll leave it to her to tell you the details."
They could say nothing--she gave them permission, and it's what they would've done naturally. But she looks so worried and unhappy, they can't help but feel sorry for her. They don't know why Minako hasn't told her anything, so maybe they are overstepping their boundaries, but surely the barest bare-bones explanation isn't too out of line?
"About Makoto, though... Is it okay if I ask more specifically what you two said, and what you assumed about her?" they continue. "I know you two worked it out, but if there's anything I can do to help clear anything up on my end..."
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
"Oh. Huh." Yukari isn't sure what to think about the fact they're still friends. "Honestly I'm a little surprised, but- alright."
They then immediately start to tell her the simplest version of it, which causes her to look up in surprise. Then she mulls it over-
"Thattttt makes sense." She finally decides upon, "She did come to me about- a little of it, before the two of you broke up."
Mostly on how she couldn't tell them about SEES, and is that really fair to them? "I just- it didn't sound like so big of a problem that- that could be it." She explains, without actually giving specifics, on her logic.
"It made me think something else was going on when it happened..." She says, while looking away, ashamed again. Ren though asks for specifics, and she hates saying it out loud again- but it's a fair thing to ask.
Sucking a breath through her teeth, she looks up, like she's trying to recall as much of the specifics as she could.
"Some of the things Minako-chan said back then made me worry that- Niijima-san was just being the 'friend' because she wanted to be the 'girlfriend'. It's not that Minako-chan thought that. Just- it set off alarm bells, because of how close she described the two of you."
She closes her eyes, like she's bracing herself all the same, even if it's only against self recriminations, "So when the two of you broke up after that rumor about Niijima-san and you started getting spread- and immediately started dating her? It felt like- it couldn't be that simple. The rumor had to come from somewhere- so I wondered if it came from her. That it was her..."
She shifts her posture, uncomfortable, "... 'working' on you- to get you and Minako-chan to break up, and you and her together. Haha... geez, I was so wrong." She hesitates, then reluctantly admits, "I guess I'm used to a different view of- Student Council Presidents and the power they wield."
It sucks to realize she was lashing out at her in part because she couldn't lash out at Mitsuru anymore... at least, not for anything fair.
She thinks.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
"It could be that since we are still friends, Minako-chan thinks there's nothing to tell," Ren offers when Yukari's nonplussed at their continued friendship. It's what I'd do, they think, but don't say, because it feels a little unfair--considering the reason for that first fight.
At least she did apparently talk to her about it leading up to the break-up, it sounds like. Yukari seems uncomfortable talking about the details, so Ren considers telling her to forget about it, but--they decide to let it rock. It's about Makoto, after all.
What she says makes a whole lot of sense. Someone with incomplete information could definitely come to that conclusion, and apparently did. Ren grimaces too. If they hadn't asked Makoto out immediately after they broke up with Minako, this wouldn't have happened. "Oh..."
They rub the back of their neck, self-conscious. "I have heard your school's Student Council President is an intense lady, but... no, no, it definitely wasn't Makoto. She and I were hanging out during a school trip, and a couple of our classmates started gossiping about it, and it spread from there. Some people just can't believe a" person who looks like a "guy and a girl can be just friends."
Ren pauses at their own words. Given that they and Makoto are dating now, aren't they proving those people right...? They shake their head, which does nothing to dispel their uneasiness.
"Thanks for letting me know." They offer her a small, tentative smile. "I respect your insistence on the truth, Takeba-san. I hope you and Minako-chan stay close friends--she'd be way happier with you."
They pause for a split-second. That sounds sort of gay. That's not how they meant it, but that's sure how it sounds now that it's out of their mouth. ...They decide to let it rock. Maybe Yukari won't even notice.
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
"Yeah... no chance." Yukari says instantly to the idea she thinks there's 'nothing to tell' just because they decided to still be friends.
"Given how worried she was about whether she'd be able to make things work?" There's a shake of her head with just a 'I don't buy it'.
But it's more just a sense that this kind of thing is really affecting to Minako, who puts so much in other people - and not so much in her own feelings.
She does listen to their explanation and nods, "Yeah- she, said as much. Though I guess at first I thought it was just a convenient excuse..."
For a reason she can't explain, since Kazusa Motojima was taken over by a Homunculus at the time.
Though, in retrospect that makes no sense, how would Makoto know that she had 'diminished capacity' in that sense, and now might not even remember it?
"To be honest... that was kind of me too?" Yukari gives Ren an awkward look with a shrug of her shoulders. "Still is- a little. Growing up a girl, unless a guy is your family- even just hanging out- everyone sees it as 'wrong' unless- you're together."
It's at least interesting that she can be so introspective about things, even issues that she didn't think were a problem before.
"Then you hear all the stories about the guys who pretended to be friends because they wanted to sleep with a girl they liked- or, girls who do that same thing because they hope they can make a guy they have a crush on fall in love with them without putting themselves out there... and it sorta feels like it reinforces it's true."
Some hypocrisy inherent in her statements because she's kind of doing that, but- hey, it's also a sort of honesty.
"You're welcome? And I hope we do too- but-" She says, initially, giving Ren a strange look at the statement like she's parsing the phrasing, "-like do you mean in the sense of... if I were a guy? I mean- yeah I'd definitely date her, if I were."
Definitely an extremely heterosexual thing to say. She has no idea how gay that sounds.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
"...I don't know, then," Ren murmurs, lowering their eyes. If that's the interaction Yukari had with her... what can they really say? Despite how they phrased it, she's the one who broke up with them. If Minako doesn't want to talk about it and Yukari's reluctant to hear anything either, that's one of the details they'll keep silent, though.
"I get why you might think that. It does sound like one, if you don't know her," they add, looking up again.
Their gaze dips again, though, when Yukari talks about being raised as a girl. Still, they nod once. "Yeah. You do hear a lot of stories like that. But just because there's a lot like that doesn't mean everyone's like that, either. I have other friends who're girls, and we're completely platonic."
Other friends in general they're completely platonic with, considering they're pansexual on top of genderfluid. Yukari does not give them the vibe like she would understand, though.
Case in point: Yukari going on to say if she were a guy... Ren's eyebrows rise. All the same, they blithely reply, "Just in general."
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
Hearing Minako broke up with them would make a lot of sense to her. But- that would only make her more concerned about her, given their prior conversation.
"There's nothing to do but wait until she says something... if I pushed her- it would only do more harm than good."
Which- given what Ren knows of Yukari Takeba, that must be torturous for her to understand that. But it's at least perhaps good to know she doesn't always jump the gun- or learns from her mistakes.
"Hmm... you said that before." She says of platonic relationships with other girls. "I guess it's just not been my experience-? But it's not like I don't believe you or anything."
She absolutely does- which is perhaps why she's at least willing to engage in this sort of introspection.
Perhaps it's merely that she doesn't trust most guys to want to be 'just friends' with her. But she also doesn't trust most people either...
'Just in general.'
Yukari Takeba's own eyebrows shoot up, before she looks startled. She realizes how weird that must have sounded given what he meant.
"Oh well- of course, what girl isn't better off having a best friend instead of a boyfriend?"
Still not aware at all of how gay that sounds.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
"Mm."
That's all Ren says of pushing or not pushing Minako to open up. Some things you shouldn't voice your personal opinion on. Either way, they're glad Minako's friend respects her personal boundaries, but they wonder how happy she actually is about that.
"Yeah. I believe you too. There are a lot of guys who can't be just friends with a girl, and vice versa," Ren replies. "I just don't think that's good or right. People have too much to offer to boil whether you want to hang out with an entire gender down to how attracted you are to it. It just feels... messed up."
Yukari rapidly starts backpedaling her gayness, or trying to. It's way too late for that now, though. They wonder how much of Yukari's protectiveness of Minako is actually an unexamined crush. "Yeah, especially given your experiences," they say anyway. They pause for a second to decide; then they add, "Of course, the best thing is if you can be romantic partners with your best friend." They shrug. "That's just my opinion, though."
Iwai emerges from the back room them with a couple of print-outs in hand. "Good news, little lady," he says, offering them to her. "I found a couple options for ya. Look 'em over and tell me which one you want, and I'll put the order in for you." He looks over at Ren. "How 'bout you? Ready to make a purchase?"
"Almost," Ren replies. They look back at the display case; then they grab the PMF-84W, a silver handgun with a long barrel and meticulous engravings. "These three, please."
Iwai proceeds to ring them up, which will give Yukari time to share any last thoughts she's got.
<Pose Tracker> Yukari Takeba has posed.
It's something Yukari wonders about too. It's just- she hadn't before, and she realized how much it hurt her. Is the hurt better for her or worse?
These are the kind of things she has to weigh herself...
"Yeah- like there's a few guys I might give that kind of chance? Sanada-senpai for example..."
He's safe for a reason she's NOT going to tell Ren, that of Akihiko having a crush on Minako.
Nope. Nuh-uh.
As for how much of it is an unexamined crush - that's up for debate. What she knows now though is she feels a rapport with Minato and Minako both because of how similar they are- yet how different they are from most people.
One of death and grief- and the feeling of being outsiders in the way you think, the way you live.
Yukari hasn't even really acknowledged that girls loving girls is even an option, to be honest. So it's difficult for her to parse how much of it is the result of that.
"Uh... huh..." She says as if in confusion, because /what way does he mean it? But she mentally shrugs it off and goes, "... well, if it can happen then- yeah. Being friends first is definitely the superior option. It feels like you and Niijima-san kind of prove that."
Is she 'friends' with Minato right now? She'd like to think so- but she also thinks he wants more than that- and so does she...
Iwai comes out again, and she looks at his hand outs, checking them over critically. "Hmm. Maintenance costs wouldn't be so pricey on this one- but-" She double checks the most expensive one, and feels her budget draining away.
"-let's go with this one. It's the best option for training at archery that isn't Kyudo style."
She'll just eat on a budget this next month, it'll be worth it if it saves her from even one Shadow, right?
As she puts in the order, she glances Ren's way then- "So. I'll keep an eye on her, alright? I mean I'd do that anyway- but- maybe it's more comforting for someone to just say that for you."
She's not promising any updates. Some things are just going to be confidential, but it's at least something she can do here.
"By the way, she never mentioned you were into model guns... is that a hobby of yours?"
Really she's just asking because she's wondering if Minako is into that and seeing if hints drop.
Not impossible she would be, with how much they wield Evokers?
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
"He does seem like a good guy--someone who'd be reliable as a boyfriend," Ren says of Akihiko. He has his issues, but who doesn't? And with the Old Maid dead... well, those issues aren't gone. However, he no longer needs to grapple with the matter of revenge. Maybe he wouldn't avenge a girlfriend if anything bad happened to her, but that's not necessarily a bad thing; so many men in media have fridged girlfriends motivate them. If he isn't that type, then the more murderous sorts might not try to go after a girlfriend of his.
...Maybe Ren's thoughts are a little too anime right now. They'll blame the Black Mask for that part. The rest can be placed at Akechi's feet.
"Wise choice," Iwai tells Yukari, half-smiling again. "Just fill out this form and I'll contact you when it's in."
The form is filled, the money changes hands, and Yukari glances at Ren.
"...Yeah. Thanks," Ren tells Yukari. "It's reassuring to know she's got support." They finish up their own purchase and set down their bag to tuck the model guns inside. Morgana scoots over to make room, until Yukari asks about Ren's hobby.
"Hm? Yeah. A friend got me into it," Ren says, glancing over their shoulder at her. This is sort of technically true, considering Ryuji brought a model gun into Kamoshida's Palace and brought Ren to Untouchable in the first place. They consider mentioning the 'model gun' that fell out of Minako's bag, but...
No. They'll let that be one of the details Minako can tell her about.
They zip the bag most of the way up, then settle it back onto their left shoulder. "I'll see you later, Takeba-san--Iwai-san," they say, nodding to each in turn. Then they head out. They're actually glad they ran into Yukari now, but they've got other things to do today.
