- Summary: Haruka bumps into Hyousuke while he bumbles around Lotus Plaza. What they both see in each other is far different from what they witnessed during the Dark Hour, however.

It wasn't often that Hyousuke ventured anywhere near Lotus Plaza. Part of it was the interschool rivalry, of course. Though not quite as severe as some made it out to be, it was a lot less trouble for him to simply go somewhere else to do his shopping - and there were a great many other places with a great many other shops to choose from. However, that did not change the fact that he had found himself wandering aimlessly about Lotus Plaza, occasionally glancing down at a scrap of paper with some scrawled-out instructions and directions.
"Daisuke's Sporting Goods..." Hyousuke mumbled to himself, looking around the place, his eyes scanning past crowds and unrelated shops in an effort to find what he had heard was a purveyor of supernatural goods, skill cards, and assorted sports gear. He looked a little out of place for multiple reasons. For one, he was still dressed in his Kasu High uniform, and had made no attempt at hiding it. Given that the area seemed to see more Sevens students than those of his kind, it was already a mark against him. There was also the fact that he very clearly had little idea where he was going.
He ambled along at a slow - almost lethargic - pace, glancing around briefly before looking back down to his directions. Whenever he stopped, he bore an expression that was partway between perplexed and frustrated, though never leaning too much into either.
"It's gotta be somewhere around here. The place ain't *that* big... Maybe I should ask someone..."

Haruka was still figuring out this whole secret world. Sure, it was fun to run around the 'Dark Hour' and feel some sense of wholeness.
But...
There really wasn't a 'but' however they needed to find out more about what was going on. They still didn't meet that girl's friends...They probably should've actually played nice with that dork in the armor. Walking outside like he just walked into the sports section and asked for them to make him fabulous. Haruka smirks at the ground, walking with their head bowed.
And that is about when he runs into Hyousuke.
Haruka falls backwards, blinking as they should've been paying attention. Their smirk is now just a worried grimace as Haruka starts to realize it was a Cuss High Student. Haruka instinctually pulls a face.
Great. Now this punk is going to want to fight---Haruka's eyes widen for a moment. "Oh..." Haruka says outloud as they catch the resonance from the other crashee.
Some things Hyousuke might notice are:
A) They are a Seven Sisters Student. Aka THE ENEMY
B) While Haruka looks very familiar and the resonance fits, they are in a boys uniform and despite being very pretty, they are missing somethings. *Cough*
C)Same purple hair as that strange 'woman'.

The man - the hound - that had patrolled the night was a hulking mass of sinew, wreathed in purple tones and accented by gold, the plating of the armour thin but still adding to his size. He had been a masked and growling thing, tearing his way through Shadows like a storm of fangs and fists. The man that Haruka had bumped into was... less that. Though still a fair bit taller than the average adult, he had since shed the mask and wore his face plain. Though the shape of his face was sharp, his rounded features lent him a somewhat friendly look, as did the polite smile he wore when facing them.
Hyousuke blinked once and canted his head a little. Where there had once been a snarling wolf now stood what seemed to be a golden retriever poured into the mould of a human being, the notion only further reinforced by a gesture that mirrored what an inquisitive mutt might do. The fact that a scar ran across his right eye, carved like a canyon from brow to cheekbone, did little to hinder this. He opened his mouth to say something, still retaining a polite and pleasant look about him, but stopped when he caught the stranger's resonance.
"Hey, do I know you? I think I've seen you around here before." Hyousuke asked, in a light and inquisitive manner one might not have expected from a Kasu student speaking to their sworn enemy (or, as the less dramatically-inclined students may have put it, rivals). It was an odd way of phrasing the question of whether they'd met during the Dark Hour or not, but then again, he was hardly the brightest bulb. What he did know was how to keep a lid on their late-night activities, however, and hint at them in as subtle a way as a clumsy oaf like him could. "I think you left something behind the other night."
When he finished speaking, he couldn't help but stare a little. It wasn't like he was unused to strange outfits or stark differences between the costume and the wearer - he was friends with two Phantom Thieves, after all - but the stranger seemed to have something missing about them. Something he couldn't quite place...

Seriously? Haruka can't help but scoff at the juxtaposition of this guy compared to him during the Dark Hour. It seems that wearing a role was part of the gig. At least now, they could abandon fears they were being a chunnibyou.
Now them during the Dark Hour...During that time with Hiro...that was the real Haruka. This was effectively getting caught with your pants down.
Haruka feels torn since they want to lord over this boy but they feel declawed at the moment.
After a moment, Haruka claps their hands together and smiles awkwardly. "I,I'm not s,sure but I don't know what you mean..." Their shoulder sag as they nod and get to their feet.
A moment of silence as Haruka tries to reappraise whatever this canine boy could want. They cup a hand to their chin, elegantly craning their neck as they think. A thought does occur to them.
"Not saying you are but just in case, I c,can defend myself if necessary so please don't try anything..." Haruka smiles awkwardly, scratching the back of their head as they avoid eye contact.

Though he straightened his head into something closer to a human's posture, Hyousuke didn't shed the curious look he gave Haruka. He didn't even try to hide it, though it was unlikely that he would have been able to, with how stark the difference between this version and their self in the Dark Hour were. Where there had once been a laughing, cauldron-bearing witch, there now stood someone that stuttered and stammered at a mere set of questions. It took him a moment to process it all, and then another to think of how to follow up, but he didn't seem particularly put out by it either.
"Try anything? I don't know what you mean by that. I'm just trying to get some shopping done." He eventually said, before shaking his head. He paused for a moment to let it sink in that he at least claimed to not be there for nefarious purposes, before continuing on. "Hey, you're in Sevens, aren't you? You probably know this place better than I do. Do you know where Daisuke's Sporting Goods is?" Was it an innocent question from someone looking for sports gear? Bait to try and goad Haruka into admitting they'd left without the loot, since that was the nearest place to sell it at? It was unclear, and Hyousuke was disinclined to disclose.

Hyousuke's reaction makes Haruka just blink for a moment. This was just weird since Haruka is almost certain this is the guy...right. Admittedly, Haruka only had a feeling and no one to really guide them...Therefore, it could just be in their head.
"R,right. That's...look I just mean...well, nevermind." Haruka must be paranoid because this wasn't making sense. This couldn't be the guy. Then Hyousuke says something and it's as if Haruka can't help themselves. It almost is said without any forethought. "So that's where you got that hideous outfit..." Haruka slaps a hand over their mouth, making eye contact with Hyousuke. Did they really just say that?

"Hey, Peacock Silk does good work! It's not-" Hyousuke, in a similar vein, spoke with no forethought. It was a rather stark change, given that he'd had to make the conscious effort to think a while on what he wanted to say to them before, and it came with a rather indignant tone to match the look on his face. The second he realised they were in a *very* public space, however, he kept his voice down so that only the two of them stood much of a chance of hearing him. "Fine, be like that. I guess I'll just keep all the loot instead of giving you your half. Maybe I'll use it to buy some gear that's up to your standards."
So *this* was why people didn't care for Sevens students, he thought. Was Lisa the exception, rather than the rule?

"Wait.." Haruka sighs, letting their body just sink as they look over at Hyousuke. "I'll take my half...please." Haruka is feeling a mixture of things. Shock that this guy is a good enough dude to find them and give them half a treasure they left. Annoyance that the ENTIRE treasure isn't theirs. Annoyance that their big mouth might've gotten them into a fight. Caution that this guy had another motive.
These thoughts race through Haruka's mind as they look over Hyousuke.

Hyousuke blinked, trying to hide his surprise. A little slipped through, but even so, he managed to keep down the worst of it. This was a *very* different person to the person that'd fought with him the other night - he began to wonder if perhaps the resonance was off. Their appearance was vastly different as well - this was not the kimono-wearing witch that had haunted the night. He eventually seemed to decide that this was indeed the same person, however, and he rummaged around in his bag to pull out a bag - a reusable one, snagged from some supermarket chain somewhere - loaded down with half of the loot.
"Check it if you like, it's all there." He said, like he was handing over some briefcase stacked with money. "...And thanks. For the help the other night. You, uh... you fight good."

"I mean I wouldn't know the total to check?" Haruka says, blinking as well as they try to look over Hyousuke. It was interesting they weren't the only one letting their freak flag fly during the dark hour. That rush might be more universal than Haruka had initially thought.
"Y,you do too....I actually study at a dojo with my bro---" Haruka stops as the thought of their twin's condition occurs to them. They look like they just saw a ghost, looking past Hyousuke for a moment. Then the moment passes with a nervous smile as they realize what they were doing. "I'm sorry...I just remembered that my brother is still in the hospital...Thank you for being honest. It's a good trait." It was probably better to be friends than enemies. Still...gah, this guy needs a serious make over at some point. Maybe they'd give "Peacock Silk" a visit to see if they could live up to their standards.
<Pose Tracker> Hyousuke Suzuki has posed.
Hyousuke's expression dropped into something a little more sombre when Haruka mentioned their brother. He kept quiet, unsure of what exactly he was supposed to say to such a thing. Offer his condolences? That risked being too trite. Remain silent? That ran the risk of him coming across as callous and dismissive. Either way, it seemed like he would've put his foot in it, so he was glad when they moved on and shifted the topic to something else.
"Lying's too much trouble." He said bluntly, conveniently ignoring the amount of times he had lied to people through his teeth. He paused again, trying to figure out something he could return the compliment with, but they'd so far not displayed anything he felt he could latch onto. The witch hadn't exactly been the friendliest sort, and the student was... Well, they hadn't known the student long enough. Perhaps that could be fixed. He hated the idea that he might make an enemy of someone that Lisa knew, after all.
"Yanno, I don't think I got your name last time. If we're gonna be running into each other like this again, might help to have 'em." He chuckled a little, then continued. "Hyousuke Suzuki. Pleased to meet ya."
<Pose Tracker> Haruka Konno has posed.
"F,fair enough..." Haruka nodded, relating to that sentiment somewhat. Then again lying with a purpose was a thing. But that sort of thing took power...Something locked behind the Dark Hour and whatever that other place was. Sure, Haruka could probably get this guy in a lock but fighting a guy like this meant a risk to their face.
No that just wouldn't do.
The 'yanno' snaps Haruka back to reality, blinking once as they listen to the delinquent. "I...Oh right you never got my name. Hmmm..." Haruka crosses their arms, thinking for a moment as they get the name. They weren't good at this making friends thing like Hiro. Haruka takes a moment and smiles. "I'm Haruka Konno...Nice to meet you."
XP: Haruka Konno has given XP to you!
XP: You have given XP to Haruka Konno!
<Pose Tracker> Hyousuke Suzuki has posed.
"Konno. Got it."
Hyousuke nodded firmly, committing the name to memory. At least, he hoped he did. There was no telling what else might come and rattle some knowledge out of his skull if he wasn't careful. A brief glance out of a nearby window told him that there was still plenty of daylight, and - by extension - there was still plenty of time for him to kill before he needed to get back to the dorms. A look of thoughtfulness crossed his face, and he wondered... Could this person perhaps be a friend? They were strange, yes, but so were a great many of his other friends. At the very least, having someone as strong as them on his side was a lot less trouble than having them as a stranger or an enemy. "Hey, you wanna get something to drink after we're done getting rid of this stuff? I got some time to kill before I gotta head back to the dorms."
Them seeming a little out of it did not cross his mind. Nor did him wanting to help lift their mood a little.
Not at all.
