Bright and energetic, Ayame Watanabe lives in Sumaru with her husband Ikkaku and three elementary-age children: Tohka, Koume, and Isamu. She treats her family as a full time job--and has, since the somewhat sudden way she started it in university. She's honest in that she has a hard time hiding her emotions; she also has a hard time saying 'no.' She works hard to support her husband in his career as a math teacher at Seven Sisters High School too, but her family isn't all she has going for her. She's also a noted Internet presence as the3v3rgreen, a writer of game tutorials and investigator of rumors on the Dark Side of Sumaru website. Since the strange incidents in Mikage-cho where she was living at the time, Ayame has been hunting out explanations--and soon, she may find more than she bargained for.

A tall Shadow-woman in an ankle-length dress and hooded cloak, carrying a pair of shears the size of a small sword. She wears a medallion on a necklace of a wheel, and has sharp golden eyes and pale lips. She wears more heavy jewelry, such as bracelets and earrings. Atropos is the oldest of the Fates. Her responsibility is to cut the thread of a mortal's life when it is time for it to end, and she has helped the other Gods with wisdom and trickery both.
