Anyone would agree that Maria Sakurai, a junior at Seven Sisters High School and former rising star in the track team, has been going through a bit of a rough patch. For reasons unknown to anyone, she'd suddenly quit the track team in April, only to then within days get caught up in the subway accident in Tokyo and spend a few months in the hospital. The rumor mill even says that her boyfriend's broken up with her. Perhaps it's just her time of Joka, as the Wang Long enthusiasts would say (and boy, has the Sevens track team really been getting its share of it lately). Normally a cheerful and friendly if air-headed girl, Maria has come off as more than a little bit detached and even frustrated since her return to regular classes, in spite of making a full recovery. Are the scars of what happened really running that deep?          
At last, it would seem that Maria has once again found her way. That's the point of view most watching her would have: after a rough year that featured the death of her grandfather, her serious injury during a subway accident, a nasty breakup, a near-escape with the Joker Killer, and her own disappearance, she seems to again have that sparkle in her eye and a pep in her step. In fact, one would say that she's become even more lively than before, like she's come into her own power in some secret, special way. The truth is, of course, that after she had been disappeared into and rescued from her own Kingdom, Maria has awoken to her Persona and her new identity as Cherry, a mysterious rogue of her own making. By day she's a student at Seven Sisters, and by night (or at least after school) a budding explorer of supernatural mysteries! But what comes now? That, among other things, is something Maria is still in the process of discovering.

At last, it would seem that Maria has once again found her way.
