- Summary: With special thanks to Ulala for the scene title. Reiko saves Myunghon from harrassment by Officer Ishiba, and the two end up having a nice conversation... in the questioning room.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
The Sumaru Police Department has a... reputation. It's all spoken of in polite measures of shade amongst persons, of course -- but after hours, with a few drinks in amongst her colleagues, Reiko's definitely picked up on how things are done somewhat questionably here, one way or another.
That's somewhat hard to imagine right now, though, because the front office of the Sumaru PD is... nice? Bright? Clean? And there's an adorable giant police dog mascot, Panta-kun, that's insistently and cutely begging:
"Give me 100 yen, woof <3"
...
Okay, when even the adorable police dog mascot is begging for donations, maybe the shade is more believable. "Ah, Detective Shimizu-san, is it?" the front receptionist greets her with an amiable enough wave. See? It's all fine. "Welcome to the Sumaru Police Department. Is there anyone I should be informing that you've arrived today?"
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
Reiko is often glad she works for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. The MPD has a reputation for being professional and above board -- there are, as always, aspects that she doesn't see -- and she knows Sumaru PD works in a different way.
She looks at Panta-kun, stares, and blinks. Then, she smiles sheepishly. "Not on duty, I'm afraid." She is, in fact, in her patrol uniform. She adjusts her glasses.
Then she heads up to the desk. "Hello! I wanted, ah--I wanted to see your records room," she says. "There's a crime pattern I'm looking into, and I wanted to see if it matches your reports. I'm not sure who that would be..."
She trails off.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
"Ah, I see! That's not a problem. Let me see... Sergeant Toguro should be available to show you to the records room and work with you on any inquiries you have," the front receptionist doesn't miss a beat alongside the click-clack and the clatter. It isn't long before she gives a nod of approval, and then gestures towards the door on the side -- the staff-only door to lead to the rest of the building that isn't public facing.
"Third floor, on your right. Have a nice day, Shimizu-san!"
Yep, it's toally all above board and nice. There's even a bright kid with his balloon and his mommy waiting at the bench seats for their turn regarding some mundane affair, like a missing items report or something. Isn't her child wonderful? He found a lost wallet and is going to turn it in! Everyone clapping and having a good time!
Reiko steps through the staff-only door.

...
Eugh... why are the hallways already so stained with cigarette stench? It's so badly lit here by comparison. Isn't anyone going to replace that broken light? Anyway, move on, move on, the actual rooms that people use are better. Turn the corner. Then--
SNAP
"No dawdling!" comes the furious roar of... that officer again, from when they first met at Yongenjaya's kobun. Koichi Ishiba, 50-something year old, salt-and-pepper hear, stubble... just the faintest whiff of whiskey and definitely a lot of tar off off him. He's roughly yanking--
Myunghon?? Who's in cuffs as they get dragged along down the hallway, still in their black-and-white suit jacket and bandages. Their coat's... seen better days... and has burn marks and holes from what looks like might be gunshots or some other sharp object piercing it. If Reiko looks really closely, their shirt still has a splotch of red on it.
"I'm coming, I'm coming-- aukk--" Myunghon's playing it smooth and easy, but even they can't completely suppress a gasp of pain and a grimace as Ishiba yanks their upper arm with such force -- deliberately so, too. "Oh, Shimizu-san?"
"Shimizu-san," Ishiba echoes. "Sorry you have to see this Chon scum. I'm taking her to questioning, so we'll be out of your way soon enough."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"Thank you very much," Reiko says to the receptionist. She turns and starts walking -- through that staff-only door, and into the backroom. There is a glance at the child and her mother before she walks through.
Then, she wrinkles her nose at the smell of cigarette smoke and the broken light. She keeps walking, until she comes to a stop at the shout of 'No dawdling!' She pauses, then she blinks.
She spots Myunghon with Ishiba, and for a moment Reiko tenses as she sees the bad state she is in. She grimaces, at the way Myunghon winces. Then, she steps forward.
She sucks a breath in. She waits for a second, meets Myunghon's eyes briefly, and then she looks back at Ishiba.
"I'm here for them," she says, then. Her tone is kept carefully neutral. "There's a case I'm working and we had reports of a bandaged person, matching their description. I'll need to do the questioning myself, and probably escort them back to Tokyo."
Please, she thinks, please buy that.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon looks a little surprised at first, and then Ishiba, who looks flabbergasted and annoyed in part because -he- knows the truth, and Reiko can very smartly guess -- probably pulled in on account of 'public nuisance' or 'loitering' or something. He carefully weighs his options for a moment, then rather angrily lets out a frustrated scoff and shoves Myunghon aside and vaguely in Reiko's direction. Again, it's done with more force than is necessary, though this time, Myunghon's able to suppress the wince.
"All right, Officer Shimizu. I don't know what your interest in this no-lifer is, but I tell you, she's always in the wrong place at the wrong time, and mark my words, I'm this close to catching you in the act. I know all about your crimes," Ishiba thrusts his finger hard enough to jab at Myunghon's chest, before turning to stomp off.
Wow, it actually worked. Myunghon watches until he turns the corner... and then looks to Reiko in turn. "My... I didn't think my day would turn out so lovely after all."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"It's a case I'm not at liberty to discuss," Reiko says to Ishiba. She gives him a thin smile for a moment, and then she frowns a little -- wincing as he jabs at Myunghon like that. She wants to step in, to say something, and to--to--
She doesn't know. What can she do? Her jurisdiction in Sumaru is limited. She deflates a little, feeling impotent, even if she stopped what was occurring.
She looks sideways at Myunghon, then, and there is a moment where she tenses up. "Sorry about that," she says, quietly. She keeps her voice down -- not trusting Ishiba to not come back around or try to listen in. Hence, her voice is low. "I tried to step in when I saw, Yeo-san. Are... you okay?"
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon waits with a surreptitiously squinted eye for about five more seconds, until they hear the door slam -- then immediately deflates air out of their lungs and gestures towards the questioning room, since that's the cover story Reiko's given them anyway, and it might give them a little more privacy to speak. There's cameras, of course, but Myunghon knows how to speak low enough and no mic's been attached to her to circumvent that.
"Oh, I'm perfectly okay. My Magical Jail Teleportation experiment was a success, as you can see," Myunghon rather lightly jokes, but Reiko can see their lips tremble a little. Their fingers are twitching. "Shall we? I'm your bandaged witness who had something important to testify to."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
Reiko smiles, but it's a little strained at the joke. She still tries, though -- and then there's a glance at the questioning room. She nods, quickly. "Right this way," she says. She walks to the room and holds the door open.
Once they're both inside, she closes it -- and then she leans back against the door instead of sitting at the table with Myunghon. Like any good interrogation room, it has two folding chairs, a small table, and a lamp on that table.
"...I'm relieved that worked," she says. "I... well, ah--" She shakes her head. "Ishiba-san is... a real piece of work."
It feels lame, when she finishes like that.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon seems so at home at an interrogation room. The jingle of handcuffs pierces the silence as they sit on the opposite end of the room, where suspects are supposed to sit, and places their hands on the table. They've done this more than a couple dozen times, Reiko can tell. "I'm glad you came," Myunghon expresses with a freer wince now. They can't reach up to rub that arm that he's yanked at several times. "He's getting bolder and bolder," they admit, pausing just a beat too long, as if trying to cover up a shiver. "But, I won't give him the satisfaction of screaming."
It feels so... small. A bit like... trying to grasp at what they can, but that tell-tale smile that covers it up is all still there.
"How... how have you been? It's been a while," Myunghon tries offramping, seeing if it'll soothe them a little. They are interested in Reiko, after all. "Shinobu-ssi's been so nice to me. I still remember being so surprised to find out. And, ah..." They bob their head, their ashen-white wolf cut swaying with them. "I did... I did buy a... Draque's Adventure III."
The 'a' is menacing, there.
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"I can... I'll say something to his higher-ups," Reiko promises with a frown. It seems so small, she thinks, when the injustice is coming from him being a police officer -- and a racist, at that. She walks over to one wall, where the spare handcuffs are.
She gets the keys to the cuffs, then walks behind Myunghon. She undoes their handcuffs; then, she blinks at the question.
"You did?" A beat. "D-Do you mean a copy of it? Um--I'm glad nee-chan's been nice to you. And, um, sorry, I didn't realize you knew her. I know it sort of put you on the spot at the festival."
She didn't quite answer how she's been. But as she brings her hands away from the handcuffs, there's a tremble to her hand -- and a rattling of the keys -- that speaks volumes.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon bites their lip -- they want to point out that this isn't the first time Ishiba's been told off by the higher-ups, but every single time, mysteriously, he gets a 'disciplinary warning' that never seems final, gets told to take two weeks off on probation... and he's revolving dooring right back where he is. "Thank you," Myunghon says instead, because Reiko herself is looking a little fragile too -- that makes the two of them, if they had a gun to their head and had to admit it.
They're glad Ishiba hasn't resorted to guns yet. ... but in a way, it's worse, because he knows he takes some pleasure in touch. It's creepier.
"I-- well, I misunderstood what game it was and... now I have a rather expensive console and... the wrong game," Myunghon bashfully says. "Your sister Watanabe-san had to let me know gently. But... I think the children like the game console, so it's seen more people come in to play it."
Oh, Ayame came to the store too, huh?
But Myunghon's attention is on how Reiko doesn't quite easily answer how she's been, and her hand is trembling too -- and when Reiko comes to undo the handcuffs... they gently reach out with those long, bony hand of theirs ontop of the back of her palm -- in a reassuring, quiet gesture.
They're trying to suppress the trembling on their hand too.
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"Sure. Of... of course," Reiko says, and she knows it isn't enough. She looks down for a second as she does.
Then she looks back up. She blinks her eyes once -- and then she starts to put it together. Draque's Adventure, that action-adventure game for a recent console. She hesitates or a second.
"My older sister came by?" she asks. Then, she shakes her head.
"Oh--oh, gosh, I'm sorry. I should have clarified," she says. "I--erm--I didn't think about that. The price of being a retro gamer..." She hesitates for a second. "You--um--it's really okay? I-I, uh, since you were doing it for me. I think?"
And then she blinks when Myunghon puts her hand atop the back of hers. Reiko hesitates, before she gives her hand a light squeeze back.
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
They both know it's not enough. But the corruption runs so deep that sometimes it's difficult to know where to even begin with it. Is it just the question of a gordian knot, then? But what does that even mean or entail? It's beyond either of them to influence right now, no matter how much the Will of Rebellion burns, but someday...
"And her husband, after that," Myunghon chuckles, a bit more bashful than usual. "Her middle daughter was so excited at the idea of buying a present for him, and I played along, and he had to come back wondering if I really parted with a precious book for so little."
But it was a feel-good story. It feels like giving back to the family, for every time Shinobu and now Reiko's protected them.
"No, it's-- it ended up being rather funny... if a bit costly," Myunghon admits. "If you want to come visit after, we certainly could play... Shinobu-ssi promised she'd show me some of her video games, since... ah, I don't actually know how to play them. Buuut we are still Drake Adventure III-less."
Myunghon had absolutely zero interest or knowledge and they went out of their way and even made a mistake because they promised!
"Ah--" Myunghon realises they have their hand a bit too long on Reiko's, and starts slipping it away. "My apologies. I'm..." They glance again, as if expecting the walls to have ears. "Just a bit..." Don't say shaken. "Tired."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"That sounds like onee-chan," Reiko says with a laugh. It's more genuine, this time; it's not like the worries about Ishiba and everything that just happened are gone, but it's a good distraction for just a moment. "She can drive a hard bargain, and all with a smile."
She looks up, then, and she blinks her eyes once. 'Costly' sounds right; she doubts she could afford one of the newest consoles.
But, still. She smiles after that. "If you'll have me," she says, "I'd love to."
She does turn a little red, though, at the apology. She pulls her hand back, and nods -- and then walks to the other side of the table. "It's all right." She pauses. "We, um... we can take it easy for a little bit. Just to--um... stick with the story I gave."
Reiko smiles, lopsidedly. "I'm not the best liar."
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon feels a little bit energised they've hit on something that's let Reiko feel a little bit more at ease with herself. This is hardly a nice cafe where they can chat and have a good time, but... they have a table and chair, so that's kinda like a cafe, right? "It's true. And she's very knowledgeable about video games too... I was surprised. Koume-chan was very endearing."
The smile that comes from Myunghon is easy enough. "Of course. The Cardboard Dragon is open to all." Even they're starting to feel a little bit healed. "The... the other day, I was..." A pause, as they wonder why they're bringing up an embarrassing story. Is this just part of the clowning? It feels a bit tender. "Well, I was not in the best of state, and I asked Shinobu-ssi if she would take me out somewhere they have fun..."
Their voice softens a little in embarrassment as they wonder how this could be taken. "We ended up at a game arcade... and that was my first time, and I couldn't believe how busy or competitive it was. I felt like a well frog that's just found their way to the ocean," they punctuate it with a little chuckle.
They do wonder what bothers Reiko, but they've started on the topic of more pleasant things right now that they know they shouldn't just context-switch. "I must say, your Yongen-jaya kobun is more charming than this. Are you still posted there, or have you moved to the Metropolitan building at this point?"
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"I'm biased, of course, but I really like Koume-chan," Reiko says. She loves all of Ayame's kids, though, of course. She looks up, though, and then she blinks. She went with Shinobu to an arcade? Reiko considers for a second -- imagining it -- and then she laughs.
"Yeah," she says. "That's nee-chan. She's really good at arcade games. I played her when I was growing up... it's something we both liked."
Though Reiko is more into roleplaying games.
"I'm glad she's looking out for you," Reiko says. She blinks at them, then -- and she smiles a bit, before shaking her head. "Ah, no, paperwork's... still in the works. But, um, I like Yongen-jaya. It's nice."
She looks around.
"A little nicer than here," she says. "No offense meant to Sumaru PD."
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon raises one eyebrow. "Is that because she is into, ah... Hidden Creatures, was it?" Myunghon couldn't really figure out what she was talking about passionately with Gumiho, but Gumiho got excited about talking about the kinds of fluids she gets on IV drips, which Myunghon figured she just got really confused about.
"O-oh, are you interested in the arcade too? It really seems like a place where you could get very fired up..." Myunghon admits, not sure if they really had a place in it, but... it's still kind of gots its charm. ... even if their image of it was maybe a cute crane game or two, and maybe pictures at the Purikura... not a best of five, no-holds-barred match of Innocent Cog. Or whichever one they ended up playing. They're so confused!
"I was... thinking of getting them something nice, for--" A pause, as Myunghon has to excuse themself. "Well, really being there for me. What kinds of things does Shinobu like, do you think? I know she has a lot of band shirts, so perhaps a music album...?"
Paperworks are still in the system somewhere. But Yongen-jaya's nice. ... it really is. That area's pretty well-off from its proximity to areas that've received a huge injection of cash to be redone and renovated, so it's cleaner, safer, newer. Reiko points out it's nicer than here.
Myunghon puts on their best insulted pout. "Oh, now that you've thrown the gauntlet, us Sumaru folk won't be taking that lying down." They soften, though, to say, with eyes looking down at the table, "It might be rough, but... ...it has been good to give some of the kids who're having a tough time a place where they can play and feel safe. Some people right now are trying to take that away from us... but we're trying to find a way to fight back."
... that doesn't involve the blood and burns on their coat, does it?
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
Reiko nods. "I think that's the one," she admits. "It's... uh, I try to play it with her but I'm not totally sure I get the rules." She laughsa little sheepishly at that. Then, she beams.
"I am!" she says. "I'm not there as often as nee-chan. I'm, um, I'm okay at them but... I like the vibes? And trying my hand at the games. Especially the crane games and the rail shooters."
She isn't as good at the fighting games.
The question of a gift for Shinobu, though, makes her pause. She doesn't catch the possible meaning -- after all, Reiko thinks she's the only one in their family with that sort of secret -- but then, she nods as an idea reaches her. "She'd like a music album. I can get you the names of some bands, from when we grew up. If you got a recording of a live show... I bet nee-chan would love that."
She smiles, though, at the defense of Sumaru. She nods -- and her expression softens, as she looks at Myunghon -- then her coat, and then burns and blood on it. "I'm sorry," she says. "I... um. Is it anything I can help with?"
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon definitely doesn't know the rules. There is a Myunghon that probably is neck deep in must-win-evo spreadsheets sacrificing newborn pups with imperfect IVs in the horrible regimen for stats, but that sounds more like an Other Side thing. "I'm beginning to learn that there are so many different kinds of video games, and people are into all sorts of things..."
But crane games are a thing that Myunghon knows! "I think a lot of the crane games, they tweak the grip on the crane so it's more difficult to win... but it still feels good to succeed at a challenge regardless." What's a rail... shooter, though? They don't quite ask, because they're a little ruffled over how small their knowledge in this domain already. They'll figure it out... or... or ask Shinobu.
"Oh, that would be lovely. I'd ask you to text me a list and exchange phone numbers right now, but they confiscated my phone, so you might have to retrieve that for me later after we're done here," Myunghon sounds a bit bashful. It feels like the thing they might be able to laugh about years later. ... why are they suddenly thinking about years later? The people they've met recently have had an effect on them.
A recording of a live show, huh...? "I don't even know where I'd get that... but I suppose live tickets are an idea too, would it not?" Even if Myunghon feels their soul draining away at the idea of going to a live concert. Too Loud. Too Noisy. Too People. Full of uncontrollable variables.
"Ah..." Myunghon is about to dismiss her out of worry, but then they consider: "Actually... we're... being... threatened by a Yakuza crime boss, Junya Kaneshiro." They swallow, having made up their mind. "He has the right judges and lawyers in his pocket for a takeover of some properties in Hirasaka, including some schools and community centers... and my store as well."
There is something of a stressed little sigh at it. The Old Maid and Strega are also connected. Don't mention that to Officer Shimizu, though. "But what I wanted to ask is... if we produce the right evidence against him, would you bring it to the right people, Shimizu-san? There isn't a lot of people in authority I can trust -- or trusts me."
They purse their lips for a moment, then there's a rare look of resolve that doesn't look like it's being masked behind anything in the way their flightier self tends to. "... I want to protect Hirasaka. I care a lot about my community and everyone in it."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"They really come in all sorts," Reiko says with a little laugh. "My favorite types aren't in the arcade. Those are RPG's, which just aren't quite cut out to be an arcade machine."
She pauses for a second, though, at the mention of the phone. It's standard procedure to confiscate phones -- but still. She frowns, but she nods. "We'll do that. I'll say I need to take you back to Tokyo," she says.
Then, she pauses. She considers the question of a live show -- and unfortunately for Myunghon, she nods her head quickly. "She'd love that!" Reiko tells them. "Nee-chan... I know she loves music. But money's hard, and... she doesn't get to go to many concerts. She'd love tickets."
When Myunghon explains about a Yakuza boss, though, Reiko's eyes widen. She swallows.
She heard things about that.
"If--If you can get me the right evidence," she says. "I'll... um. I'll make sure it gets to the right person. I don't know her well, but--but there's a prosecutor, Sae Niijima, and I think she would be willing to help."
She tilts her head to the side. "I... I understand. About a community. I'll do everything I can, okay?"
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon doesn't have any idea what makes a game 'appropriate' for an arcade or not -- and they're going to get flabbergasted when Reiko inevitably drops the idea that some games are, in fact, 80 hours long, not something you sit down for an hour until the 'GAME OVER' screen appears. "RPG...?" Rocket Propelled Grenade? Radioactive Protection Gear... no, none of those fit the context of this situation.
"Are you going to actually take me to Tokyo?" Myunghon can't help but ask, with a smile. "I guess I had some business there, actually, and I would not mind. This coat is truly done for, so I needed to go find a replacement." ... well, the idea of the shot, burnt coat lines up with being threatened by a Yakuza boss, but does Myunghon live such an actively dangerous life?
Uh oh! Reiko's smelled blood in the air and is homing in on the live concert idea!! "O-oh... then we'll have to do our research and see what kinds of band performances are coming." Maybe So-young has an idea... but... oh no. The moment So-young also smells blood in the air, she'll be absolutely *relentless*. Maybe Shinjiro will let them down easy, right...?
"Concerts are... loud, aren't they..." Uh oh. This is a person who thought an *arcade* was loud and noisy. Is a concert just going to destroy them? (Yes. It'll be fun.)
Sae Niijima... a prosecutor. There's a grateful nod, as Myunghon bows their head. "Thank you, Shimizu-san. ... you-- can call me Myunghon, by the way. I don't mind. We're working at it currently, but he's got his tracks well covered... but just a bit more time, hopefully."
There's a soft sigh -- and a wince, as their shoulder reminds them of Ishiba's aggravation. "Ah, I should probably have this looked at too."
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"Roleplaying game," Reiko says. "Drake Adventure III is one of those."
Then she hesitates for a second -- and she cracks a smile, before she shakes her head. "I don't have to, but at least part of the way. To keep up appearances. But... we could get you a new coat, at least."
It doesn't occur to Reiko that Myunghon might be interested in the concert for other reasons -- but, Reiko is sometimes dense. "I'm afraid so..."
She looks more serious, then. Her expression becomes thoughtful -- and then she nods. "Myunghon-san, then. You can call me by my first name, if you'd like," she says. She hesitates for a moment, as she looks at their shoulder.
"I know a clinic in Yongen-jaya," she says. "Doctor Takemi would look at it."
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
"Roleplaying... oh, I see, not unlike tabletop games," Myunghon has an unexpected venture, because it's now canon that they're running play-pretend games for Jack Frost and Jack o' Lantern for Skill Cards and walking the tightrope of not boring them but also not pissing them off that they'll end up an ice cube for their troubles.
There's a gentle nod. "There's a store that opened up in Shimokita not long ago... I was quite intrigued by it, the Peacock Silk." Myunghon pauses, though. They'd turn away Reiko, unless she was awakened too... is she awakened? The way she speaks, it doesn't really feel like that's the case. ... it's probably better that she wasn't... everyone who's been ensnared into this world's only had their life become more complicated.
'Intrigued' is certainly a choice of words for it. "Reiko... Reiko-ssi," Myunghon chuckles bashfully. "I hope you don't mind. That's a form of address when you're a bit more familiar with someone around your age."
They rise gently from their seat, slowly, as Reiko recommends a clinic. "Ah, that would be good, thank you."
... of course, they don't know how terrifing Doctor Takemi can be!! From one person who loves guinea pigs to another... hang in there, Mormot-kun.
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"Mm-hm!" Reiko murmurs. "They actually were inspired by the American games based on the first tabletop roleplaying games, and... well, ah, you get the idea." She laughs a little, and then she tilts her head to the side.
"Peacock Silk?" she asks. "What... um... what sort of store is that?"
There is a smile, though -- a warm one, and a more calm one. Reiko-ssi, is it? That feels nice. She nods, quickly. "Thanks, Myunghon-san. I, um, I really appreciate it."
She nods, and then she heads for the door. "Are you ready?"
<Pose Tracker> Myunghon Yeo has posed.
Myunghon had no idea there was such a history behind them. They've got a lot of studying to do. Music, concerts, how to survive a concerts, rail shooters, roleplaying games, arcades... their head could spin just thinking about all of this. But it's kind of charming to get a little into what the living does...
There they go again, thinking like that. "It's an... eccentric clothing boutique, but recently they accepted me as a client." Eccentric does describe Myunghon, one supposes.
They step around the table, but pauses, since it would look weird if they walked out of the questioning room first. "After you," they gracefully gesture.
<Pose Tracker> Reiko Shimizu has posed.
"Hm... maybe sometime, I'll go by!" Reiko says, even if she has no idea. She isn't, after all, awakened. She smiles, though -- and then she nods at Myunghon's invitation.
"Right," she says. "After me, and I'll do the talking."
She opens the door -- and leads the way out. The records room, for her case, will have to wait.
