- Summary: Kaneshiro turns himself in and confesses to his crimes. Reiko is one of the police who brings him in.
"We're coming to you live today from Shibuya!"
Reiko glances sideways at the reporter, who -- somehow -- pushed past the police line to try to get the scoop. Along with her boss, Detective Benkei Uchijima, she has been escorting Junya Kaneshiro. Even though he turned himself in, the Yakuza boss looks like hell. His hair is unwashed and greasy, his white coat stained, and bags are under his eyes. Reiko freezes up for a moment at the camera.
"Please step back," she says, trying to not let the nervousness show on her face. Myunghon told her that she might need to arrest him after getting evidence. She never dreamed that would come from Kaneshiro turning himself in. "We're escorting the suspect to the courthouse, and a statement will--"
Kaneshiro turns, not quite pulling his arm from her grasp. But he turns to look at the camera. His eyes are reddened. "I did it. All of it." His voice is shaken. Apologetic. "Forcing minors into working for us, through blackmail, bribes to seize property in Hirasaka. All of it! It was me. And I'm so sorry."
The reporter pushes a microphone towards him. That gets Reiko's green eyes to go wide behind her glasses. "Kaneshiro-san," he says. "Can you confirm that the Phantom Thieves--"
"All right, that's enough." Benkei Uchijima -- a short but solidly built man -- pushes the microphone away. "The suspect isn't available for a media appearance, folks."
Reiko smiles, apologetically, as her boss hauls Kaneshiro forward. "Please direct all questions to Prosecutor Niijima's office!" she says. "There will be a press conference later!"
The reporter sighs, turning back to the camera. "As you can see, Junya Kaneshiro turned himself into the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department today. It's widely believed this is the result of the Phantom Thieves, much like the Madarame Incident. We're going back to more coverage now, as our analysts look at what happened, and..."
