<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Gretchen first took Yua not so far away; Miho was watching, after all, just as she'd promised. But no sooner did Yua clutch her, murmuring something from beneath her veils about how he was protected now, did Gretchen take them further away -- and further away! --

They reach their penthouse just before the end of the Dark Hour, and Yua sags into Miho, as the electronics flicker back on.

        "Mimi..."

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Miho was indeed watching, with some alarm in places. She still wasn't feeling at her best that night, after all. But now, with the end of the Dark Hour--

Miho picks Yua up and carries her over the threshold, careful to avoid her hitting the doorframe along the way.

"You did very well," Miho says. "Though..."

"Next time, try not to render yourself so vulnerable to strike in close range," she says. "I may have gray hairs..."

She is light-hearted in words, but not in reality.

"Let's sit down," she suggests, and takes Yua to the couch. "And you can tell me how you're doing."

She is at least coherent in speech now.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua clutches at Miho; her body armour adds a solid extra ten kilos to her weight, but even with that, she's little more than sixty kilos in her arms.

"I'm sorry," Yua murmurs, into her own armour. "I wasn't thinking... well, that is, I couldn't think... I'm too open to them, Mimi, their afflictions cut me too deep."

As Yua's laid on the couch, she sits up, fumbling with her straps. "H--hang on, let me get this off... it's so uncomfortable..." ... ten kilos might be nothing to Miho, but it's one fifth of Yua's total body mass. Even if she does lift weights, Yua struggles a lot more with her protection.

She pauses, though, and unstraps the packs at her waist first. "Oh, these damnable things," she grouses, as she leans forward to place the whole thing gently on the glass tabletop, syringes safely kept in their slots. "They're all there... just as they wanted."

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

That won't stop Miho because it's metric.

"It's not your fault," Miho says. "I saw them use their spells on you. ...If you cannot be more careful, then that's more reason for me to protect you more closely in the future." She will remember that.

"All right," Miho says, and moves to help Yua. Yua unstraps the packs, and Miho steadies her, making sure nothing falls or breaks or anything.

"Hmph. But you were very clever," Miho says. "Getting those people to defend that man..."

"It was an even better plan than my own."

A pause. "Let me help you out of the rest. Your improvisation is impressive, darling."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

        It's twenty-two pounds, Miho!! Geez!!!

"I-it's okay," Yua smiles, a touch delicately, to Miho, and she is at least trying to be brave. "I'm okay, see? Gretchen's protecting me, too!"

It's a good thing Miho is steadying her; Yua is always so exhausted, after these bouts, even when her energy isn't burned right through. "You liked it?" Yua asks, as she turns around to let Miho unlatch her straps at the back. "Yay..." And it's a weary variation of yay, but she is happy. "It's all acting! Right? I thought... it would be much safer if they thought I was really going to kill him. That's why I didn't tell him he'd be okay, at the start, either..."

Yua sighs, as she turns back forward, to let Miho handle the straps she'd been fumbling and failing at. (Miho, traditionally, has always been better at undoing straps and latches; Yua's fine dexterity has just never been very good. Miho's the one who needs to help Yua put her chokers on when they're getting ready for the day, too.) "Well... I say that, but... I was mad he called me resources. And something really mean. I guess making him scared like that was cruel... but..."

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

It's fine.

"You are all right," Miho allows. "I suppose I would've been a liability tonight," she admits. "The shadows at the edge of my vision are hungry..."

Well, mostly coherent.

'Yay'. "Yes," Miho answers. "It was very clever."

A pause. Miho helps; she's very good at undoing those, and it has been a useful skill with Yua's particular issues. Still...

"He's an asshole," Miho says simply. "The fact that we wanted to spare him doesn't mean that we like him."

"He was cruel to you. ...There's no point in feeling guilty that in saving his life you were a little rough."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"I get pretty weird out there, too..." Yua says, apologetically. "There's just -- too much in my head. Too much of them, too much of me, too much of what's around us. I know it all, all at once..."

(Being autistic surely doesn't help her with that kind of information overload, either.)

"But they can't eat you," Yua huffs. "I won't let them!" W--why does she sound so territorial about that?! At least her pouting doesn't last long, in the wake of Miho's praise. "I'm not as dumb as they think I am!" She chirps, happily.

Once Miho's out of her armour and mask, too, Yua brushes back her veils. Either she or Miho made sure to close her eyepatch before the Dark Hour ended, so she's safely half-sighted, again, as she scooches up next to Miho. "Mm... you're right," she huffs, again, planting her hands on the couch to swing her legs up over Miho's and plant herself firmly in her lap. Hey! She just traded in the weight of that body armour for the weight of Yua! "Men in 'the company' are always so rude... one of them told me that a pretty young thing like me should be seen and not heard," she pouts, one leg swinging loosely into the air.

"... but I guess he won't be grateful, even though he's alive because of us," Yua sighs, shaking her head.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

"Yes, I understand," Miho says. "...Well, not fully," she admits. "But the idea of it--to be overwhelmed, far too much to sense..."

But, they can't eat her. Miho quirks a smile. "Good," she says, and runs her thumb along Yua's cheek. "I shall remember your claim there." And indeed, Yua is not dumb at all to Miho's mind. She's seen how clever she can be.

But Miho also has to get out of the armor, and certainly, she closed Yua's eyepatch where it was necessary.

Miho accepts Yua--she will keep this particular weight for herself, actually.

"They are," Miho agrees. "Terribly rude. ...That sounds like exactly the sort of thing they'd say, too. They believe women are just there to be looked at, perhaps plan parties now and then."

She shakes her head.

"He will not. We will have to be satisfied for ourselves."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Mm, I know," Yua says, and she believes it. Miho might not precisely share her experience, but...

... it's all too easy for her to imagine Miho sympathising.

Her cheeks flush, at the brush of Miho's thumb, and she nuzzles her face into the touch. "Mm-hm!" She chirps, brightly.

Yua is really quite impressed at how quickly Miho can get out of her armour -- but then, she supposes Miho has her tournament clothing, which is basically armour for foils, isn't it? So she's got a lot more experience...

She tucks her arms around Miho, settling her weight in against her, and reveals her true form: the world's cutest weighted blanket. (She's the world's cutest a lot of things. Like 'chef', according to her apron. Yes, she wears an apron over her leotard; yes, it's exactly as funny as it sounds.) "They're stupid," she grumps, wheeling between loquaciousness and simplicity in the wake of her overload.

But she can feel Miho's heartbeat... and if she breathes like she's breathing, hers will slow down, too.

"I'm really happy you liked my plan," she says, turning to that satisfaction, and her smile is audible. "And how I did... though I was very shocked to realise I'd gone right up to poor Suzuki-kun. I thought, 'why am I here! I can't do anything?!' Oh, Gretchen must have realised I thought better of it... she made sure he didn't do something he might regret." She sighs, nuzzling her face into Miho's neck. "He's not a bad boy, he really isn't... though I never knew he was holding quite that much anger inside himself. Perhaps I ought to talk to Muto-san..." That is, the other PE teacher at Kasugayama who gives a damn; like her, he's also specialised to one specific physical activity, though his interest is in Muay Thai rather than dance.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Yua knows. It's good enough. And Miho smiles, to see that chirp.

Yua is so cute. And Yua's happiness does a lot to calm Miho in turn, who wraps arms around Yua. Chef! Yes, the apron is cute. And they are very stupid.

Miho's heartbeat is steady, and slowing. Coming to an even rhythm...

"I did," Miho confirms. "I was... also surprised," she admits of that part. "It concerned me. But it seems that Gretchen did protect you."

Not a bad boy... "It's interesting," she says. "I wonder why? Such passion, directed, could go a long way."

"Perhaps you should. Either way," she says, "I'll be interested to see him grow as well."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua is happier, in turn, to feel Miho's strong arms embrace her; she sighs, happily, sinking into her fiancee. (Her fiancee! Imagine that!!)

They both have rather slow heartbeats, when they're relaxing like this; but of course, they would, being so athletic. It always seems to Yua like they end up in sync, though perhaps her brain is helping connect the two, a little.

"Mm..." Yua hums, thoughtfully. "I think Muto-san's trying," she guesses, "but I'm worried what might happen to him, if he manages to kill someone when he's that angry. You know... if he'd managed to catch me, and he'd really hurt me... how would he have felt when he realised who I was?" Yua really looks at the way Hyousuke turned his violence on her, and her first thought is that this poor child would be traumatised if he went through it.

... but why wouldn't she feel protective? He's one of her precious students, too.

Yua sighs, tilting her head back so she can see Miho's face, again, with a worried frown. "But... I'm sorry I worried you," she says, sincerely. "I don't know what it is... even when we were younger, I didn't like to fight. I'd rather make peace so no one was troubled... but ever since I escaped from 'that place', I haven't been able to defend myself at all. Like... like every time I protested, there'd be more drugs, and the bells, and... and... I guess my body just decided I couldn't fight back. It was too scary..."

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Trying, but... "Mm," Miho says of Hyousuke killing someone. "I don't know," she admits. "I don't know him well at all. But it would change him, I'm sure. ...It is always something that impacts."

But, even so, Miho looks down into Yua's eye. And there, she shakes her head. "I can forgive a bit of worry," Miho says. "...From what you say, it is not your fault."

She considers it. Make peace... But it's more than that now.

"All the more reason for me to defend you. ...Perhaps one day, we can work over some of what has been done--heal you."

"...But until then, if your body will not defend itself, then I will defend you. And of course, Gretchen."

When she's not attacking instead.

"...I am just glad you are safe."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Mimi..." Yua croons, sadly, a hand stroking down the side of her head to rest at her pale cheek.

She doesn't need to say why it concerns her.

Yua nods, though, when Miho says it wasn't her fault. "I couldn't control myself," she explains, softly.

But she smiles, when Miho says she'll defend her, they'll defend her, and she's glad she's safe. Her fingers curl at Miho's cheek, as she leans up to kiss her, gratefully.

"It was shocking," she murmurs, close to her, "when I became so angry I wanted to do something... only to realise there was still nothing I could do. They opened me up, but they made me too delicate..."

Yua looks to Miho, swimming in the vision she has, here in the normal world. ... close up, it's easier to see things with one eye, but it does get a touch blurry.

"It's okay," she says, softly. "I know you'll protect me, Mimi. And... I'm glad I got back to you safely, too." Her eye closes, briefly, as she reflects: "Thank you, Gretchen... my mind was all mixed up, but you knew what I really wanted, anyway."
