  • Where: Hirasaka - Sunny Day Diner
  • OOC Date: 2025-08-31

  • Summary: Ichika comes by the Cardboard Dragon to speak to Myunghon about her troubles... and ends up talking to Yua, instead. Yua ends up divulging a little too much about her own history to try and reach this poor troubled youth, but Ichika can at least believe she cares.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Everyone's favourite teacher, Yua, has come by this afternoon... even though she really ought to be running her studio right now. Unfortunately -- for the second day in a row -- it's closed, though that's not for lack of practicing today.

(No -- Yua went back to bed this morning, after helping Miho get to work, only to call in sick and go right back to bed. She practiced around lunchtime, instead, because she'd promised Miho she at least wouldn't be lazy.)

She walks down the steps of the fire escape, though, her pointe shoes quiet against the steel steps as she scowls in deep concern. Of course she's still dressed in her dancing leotard, with her usual black handbag across a shoulder. And there's a very nice car parked nearby... a Mercer-Benz, even.

Yua has to walk out of the alleyway and over to where Seiji's parked before she can give him her next destination, though. And between two inches, there's...

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

It's after school! And Ichika is in her Delinquent Pants.

...Well, they're not actually pants; it's a Kasugayama summer uniform, and she has a claim ticket for some dry cleaning later, before which time she decided to head to the Cardboard Dragon. And:

There is a very nice car there.

Ichika thinks about it. She glances down at her nails. She glances at the car. Then she starts walking over towards the car, delinquentily. How do you walk in a delinquent fashion? Well, there's a certain saunter to it, and the bottle-blonde Ichika is good at that saunter. It's a very nice car indeed. And she has no idea it belongs to Yua.

She gets closer. She specifically gets closer to one of the taillights and pulls a bottle of black nail polish.

It's a nice prank. You can clean nail polish off a light. She's letting the car off easy!

Maybe she'll draw a Hirasaka...

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua of course sees Ichika approaching the car in such a suspicious manner, but she's all the way across the street, and she has to wait for the pedestrian crossing! Nooooo...!!!

Nothing can stop Ichika from defacing her very nice car --

        Except --

There's a light breeze, breaking up the oppressive summer day, and all a sudden Ichika's nail polish isn't in her hands any more.

Rather: it's in the large hands of one Seiji Sahashi, a man taller than she is in a nice chauffeur's suit, who inspects the bottle thoughtfully. "Cando... that's an interesting brand choice. Ooshiro-san prefers DEPENDENCE, but I suppose that's out of a teenager's price range, isn't it?"

Finally, Yua makes her way over, hurrying over to the car. "Oh! Kawase-kun! You met my driver, Seiji-san! Ah, what is..."

"She was just showing me her nail polish," Seiji explains, handing it back graciously. "No harm done. This is one of your students, Ooshiro-san?"

"That's right!" Yua confirms, turning to Ichika. She smiles, sympathetically -- and a touch nervously. "Ah... are you all right...?"

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

A light breeze--

Ichika blinks once, and looks to Seiji. He is inspecting her bottle. Ichika looks down at his hands and up to his face again. "Ooshiro-san?" she repeats, and she knows that name actually, but it surprises her to have it attached to this guy. "It's got a good gloss and it won't chip," Ichika says of the brand, once she's recovered her composure. (And is no longer squinting.) DEPENDENCE is nice, but feels more like the style of yesterday's Ichika than today's.

Ichika takes the bottle back and decides this guy is prtty nice actually. "Yeah, he's got me thinking about nicer brands..."

A beat, "Hey, sensei. Yeah, I'm fine. Your driver's a pretty cool guy." She nods his way.

If he's not going to rat her out, she's not going to rat herself out.

"Didn't know you had such a nice car. Or a driver."

"Uh." Pause. "How're... you?"

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"I suggest KITE," Seiji offers, conversationally. "If you're prioritising chip resistance, I hear they're very good at it." Why does he know so much about nail polish? Maybe Seiji has a wife, you don't know. Yua doesn't know, either. This man is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.

Like, how'd he get there that fast to grab that bottle so effortlessly????

        (Don't worry about it.)

"He's very nice!" Yua smiles, relieved to hear that Ichika wasn't frightened by her well-meaning assistant. She laughs, a hand to her cheek. "Oh, you know... I'm well taken care of!" ... is Yua married? She sure can't pay for this on a part-timer's salary, that's for sure.

Though, taking a closer look at Yua, she looks... remarkably tired, today. There are even hairs out of place, straying from her bun to fall over her face. Her eyes are a little red, and the dark circles beneath them aren't entirely covered up by concealer.

... but how could Yua say her soul is heavy from all her crimes?

She certainly doesn't know that Ichika was there.

"I'm -- I'm quite all right," she assures her, smiling. "Just feeling a little off, today... I'd come to visit a friend of mine, but I'm afraid they're not presently in. How are you, Kawase-kun?"

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

"Oh, yeah?" Ichika asks of KITE. "I'll have to look into it. You want something that holds, you know?"

Ichika's not afraid. She's very conscious that she just about borrowed entirely the wrong kind of trouble, but there's a certain exhiliration to getting away with that that makes her feel just slightly manic. It's fine.

"Huh, yeah," Ichika replies of being 'well taken care of'. But Ichika does indeed take a closer look--and notices. Hairs out of place, eyes a little red, dark circles under her eyes...

"You sure?" Ichika says. "Remember, if anybody at Kasu High gives you trouble, send them to me. I'll sort them out."

A pause. Feeling a little off... it reminds Ichika of excuses she's made. But that's probably just projecting. Even if she does look like she's been crying or something.

"Oh, you know Yeo-san?" Ichika settles on saying instead. "They're cool."

How is she? Ichika opens her mouth and closes it. "I've got some stuff on my mind," she settles on. "I was gonna come here and hang out a little, but... If they're not here, I guess not."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Of course," Seiji nods. Does he know...?

        It is a mystery.

"Oh, no trouble at all," Yua assures her, shaking her head. "... though... you're friends with Suzuki-kun, aren't you? Haa... could you keep an eye on him? He hasn't done anything wrong, but..." Yua pauses, delicately. "Ah, how do I put this... well, I shouldn't discuss anything private, but... I wonder if you could look out for him in ways I can't."

Yua doesn't know that Ichika was there, of course.

If she had any inkling -- she would never had said something which is only subtle without the context of last night.

She smiles, though. "Myucchi is a very dear friend of mine," she says, warmly. "But they're, ah..." Yua pauses, and looks to Seiji. "... Seiji-san, will you be all right if I leave you here a little longer?"

"Of course," Seiji nods to her, with a smile.

"Then... would you like to join me for some afternoon tea?" Yua asks, turning to Ichika. "I'm happy to listen in their stead. It will be my treat!"

Of course, she's worried about Myunghon, but... she has a duty to her students, too.

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

Ichika assumes Seiji knows exactly what she was going to do. She respects this man she's never met. But the fact that he's been nothing but pleasant means he hasn't activated her fear buttons, even aside from that knowledge. As for Hyousuke...

"Sure," Ichika says. "You don't have to tell me whatever, but I'll keep an eye out if something's wrong." A pause. "But if you think there is, you should see him at lunch. I've never met a guy who loves food as much as he does."

A pause. Ichika doesn't know Yua was there, either, after all. So she doesn't connect it to last night at all.

Myucchi! That is a dear-sounding friend. They're... something?

But Seiji is fine going alone, and Yua invites her. Ichika opens her mouth and closes it agian, thinking about it.

"...Well," she says, "If you're sure. That might be nice. It's just... I mean, it's just girl stuff, so..."

"Sure." A pause, and she looks at Seiji. "Thanks."

For what? Don't worry about it.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"That's great!" Yua smiles, all but sparkling. "Thanks a lot!" Yua doesn't know Ichika was there, Ichika doesn't know Yua was there... everyone's happy!!

And... Myucchi! You see, Ichika, there's a power adults have... the power to receive a nickname.

"Great," Yua smiles, as she starts walking back to the pedestrian crossing. "Let's pop into the Sunny Day, shall we?" That is to say, the family cafe on the first floor of the Cardboard Dragon's building.

"Don't worry," she assures her, as they're waiting at the pedestrian crossing. (No jaywalking for Ichika! There's a Teacher present!) "I'm a girl, too!" Well, she's a woman, at this point, but she remembers being a girl pretty well.

        Into the cafe, and...

"What would you like?" Yua asks, turning to Ichika. "Maybe I'll get... mm..." She scans over the list of offerings, and quietly, in her head, does some caloric calculations. "... a croissant!" She decides, as if she was just figuring out what to eat.

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

Nicknames...

But Ichika walks along with Yua and nods, though she is not sure if the Sunny Day will be happy to receive her in this uniform. She's used to weathering Looks though, so she isn't going to show any stress about it. Besides, she's with a teacher. That's gotta make it weird.

"Sure," Ichika allows, kind of swept up by Yua's niceness in the moment. Especially since, "...That's true," she allows. "I guess you would get it..."

Once inside the cafe, Ichika crosses her arms like a scary sukeban. "Some green tea and... one of those little chocolate pastries," she says. "If that's OK."

She should pretend she doesn't want it, but she's too hungry to be that polite. ...She is awfully hungry all of a sudden isn't she?

"...Croissants are good."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua defeats any withering looks which might be sent Ichika's way with her sunny disposition! As well as a good greeting. "Good afternoon! I've brought a friend today!" Because, of course, this isn't the first time Yua's frequented the Sunny Day. "She's one of my students, so please welcome her kindly!"

And while the barista manning the counter is a little sceptical... she at least tries to put on a welcoming smile for the sukeban who is going to drive off all their customers. "Welcome!"

Yua relates their orders -- the tea she orders is black with milk and honey, which Ichika might recognise as the sweetest tea additives known to man -- pays for it all, and goes over to find them one of those little tables with the two chairs facing each other. "Those little chocolate pastries are magnificent!" She enthuses, still warm. "I'm sure you'll love it!"

Yua makes sure their little sign with their order number is nice and visible on the table, for a deliberate moment. Nothing's worse than having to scour the diner trying to find who the food belongs to. ... she hasn't worked food service since she was Ichika's age, but she remembers.

"So, girl stuff, huh?" Yua wonders, tapping her nails (long, gorgeous, and painted purple with pink sparkly highlights) on the table. "I'm guessing it's not about your nails...? Though black is a nice colour on you," she adds, smiling. "It's very striking."

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

Sunny! And a good greeting is important. Ichika is a little self-conscious to deflect looks that way, but she manages not to show it on her face. (In the slightly hesitant way she moves, yes. On her face, no.)

Until the barista has to try to put on a smile--that sparks Ichika's rebellion enough that she smiles right back. "Thanks."

Ichika does recognizes the honey as super sweet as that goes. Yua must like sweet things. That's not a bad thing. "Oh, yeah?" Ichika asks. "Well, I just figured the sweetness would balance out the green tea..."

Ichika takes a seat with Yua, across from her at the table. She assumes Yua is messing with the number for some personal reason; she has never done food service in her life.

"It's not," Ichika confirms, "But thanks. It's mostly to go with the rest; it kinda sets off the black on the uniform, along with the shadow and lipstick." Which, naturally, include black and darkness. "...But yours are really nice, too. I can't keep mine too long because--"

Pause.

"For normal reasons," Ichika says, and she's very smooth.

"...Anyway yeah, like..." Pause. "Well, I guess it'd be more accurate to say it's... boy stuff. Not all girls worry about this kind of thing, after all. Some don't care about it. Some like girls! There's--I mean, I'm just..."

Ichika sighs. "So, there's..."

She sighs. "There's this boy," Ichika starts, and Yua may recognize this as the beginning of trouble.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Oh, that's true!" Yua smiles, when Ichika talks about balancing out the green tea. (She wouldn't know; she has to balance out green tea at the source.) She at least seems pretty confident about being here, and maybe that will help Ichika feel a little less awkward.

... or maybe she's just way too much of a large ham. Like, come on, Yua, you're not CONSTANTLY on stage --

"Heeheehee," Yua giggles -- like, actually giggles, fingers veiling her lips -- when Ichika insists her nails are short for normal reasons. At least she doesn't seem to be laughing at Ichika as much as at the absurdity of throwing a punch with long nails.

Her hand presses to her lips, though, eyes widening a little, when Ichika stumbles over the girls who don't worry about this sort of thing. She hears the danger alert signal in her mind --

And then Ichika sighs, and no, it's fine, don't worry about it.

"Ah, a boy!" Yua exclaims, as their pastries come out on lovely little plates. (Their tea will be by a few moments later; it needs to be prepared.) "Thank you," she asides, to the server, smiling to them before she turns back to Ichika -- still smiling. "Oh, I know all about that," she lies, as easily as she breathes. "They can be quite a handful, can't they? Well, what's going on with this boy...?"

See, Yua's on stage and acting out the part of a straight adult who can advise Ichika with her straight problems. She's so good at this game.

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

Ichika used to like long nails! ...Not so much for punching, no. Yua seems to get it, even if Ichika can't just come out and say that that's why to a teacher. Even a part-time teacher. But--her eyes widen and--

Ichika thinks maybe it's better not to press that one, she seemed alarmed about it. It wasn't a terrible way to test the waters, but...

That stuff's not hers to talk about, anyway, from any of the corners she's getting it from.

Lovely little plates! "Thanks," Ichika also says, despite her Apparent Rudeness, because some habits get ingrained.

Yua says she knows all about it, and Ichika wonders if she does. "Yeah," she agrees about them being a handful.

"Well..." She sets her bag in her lap, but doesn't reach into it. "So, he's great. He's hot, he's sensitive, he cares about his mom... And he hasn't pushed me about it in a while, but he wants to go... steady, you know. Like, exclusive. And I'm still thinking about it. ...I mean, you've heard what they say about me--and it's not all made up. But he likes me anyway."

"But..."

"There was this other boy I knew, who I was really close to... But things didn't work out so well. And that ended a while back."

"But I've been thinking about it. And I could just go on as things've been. That'd be OK, nobody's mad or anything. But I wonder... Maybe I should do it. Go with him. It's not like I'm agreeing to marry him or something like that."

"But at the same time, do I feel that way because I like him? Or do I just want to feel safe again...?"

"I don't know. And it's hard. Since..."

She bites her lip. "This other guy, the one I used to be with... He's really bad news. And I..." She can't explain the Palace, so, "I ran into him again a little while back. It's... It's bad."

"So you know? I don't really know what I want."

"..."

Ichika bites her lip. "...It's OK if you don't get it, too," she says. "I know I'm a..."

"I mean, you were probably a better girl than me anyway." She's already starting to shut back down about it--it's not that hard to see.

Yua's performance might have to reach another level!!

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Ichika tells Yua about her boy, and Yua thinks, at first blush, that he sounds like a fine boy. Yua's heard what people say about Ichika, of course, but she'd encourage going steady any day of the week. Except...

Except Ichika has more to say, and Yua keeps quiet, nodding with little affirmative noises to show she's listening still.

She frowns, when Ichika says that her ex was bad news. And she met him again... is that why she's seeking the safety of this other boy?

        It's really very complicated...

... and Ichika divulged all those painful things, and now she's shutting down, just like that.

"O-oh, I really wouldn't say that," Yua says, shaking her head. "You know, when I -- ah -- was seeing someone, in high school," sorry, Miho, "he had been seeing someone before he realised I was, available... and while he broke up with, her, before he started dating me, the whole school was really quite aghast that I'd stolen, ah, her boyfriend. I really hadn't meant to, is the darndest thing, but..." She shakes her head, with a sad smile. "... the point is, I know a thing or two about having a bad reputation. Okay?" At least Ichika's never stolen anyone's man!

The tea comes by, now, and Yua smiles to the server. "Thank you very much," she says... and proceeds to take three of those little sugar packets they put on the table and empty those into her teacup, too. Stir, stir...

"So... that boy treated you badly, and you're scared you might be looking for something familiar with this other boy, is that right?" She summarises what she's heard, checking it with Ichika. "That sounds really difficult... and scary. Are you safe from your ex right now...?"

Well, she remembers the child protection training, but it's an important question to ask anyway.

She thinks to her own situation, searching to see if she has anything in her life which feels like Ichika might be feeling. Miho of course is her safety, but that doesn't mean she can't think of anything which isn't bad news.

It's just -- men like Shiryuu and Rokuro and Ezoe.

"... really, it's all right, I do get it," she decides, gently, after that moment's thought. "It's difficult to tell whether you're making peace or maing progress, right...?"

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

He is! At least, Ichika thinks so. 'Cares about his mom' is a very important green flag. ...But, Ichika isn't used to most adults supporting the way she lives her life. Especially not women. So she's ready to walk it back. Until--

"...Oh," Ichika answers. She had been ready to assume it would just be some kind of platitude or whatever, but Yua seems genuine about this. If... A little weird. But it must just be difficult to talk to a teenager about stuff like this.

"Thanks," she says to the server too, and she calms herself by inhaling the scent of the tea. She could sugar it, but she doesn't. She just warms her hands on the cup.

"Right," Ichika says. "He always wanted to protect me, anyway. Like, when I came to Kasu High, and I started seeing him, he made the offer. But I wasn't ready to be someone's girl. ..I don't even know if I am now. But I'm at least ready to like... think about it?"

Is she safe? "I..." The way Ichika trails off should absolutely mean 'no', but she eventually says, "I mean, he's not like, actively trying to reach me or anything. He doesn't go to our school or anything."

But Yua thinks on it, and Ichika stops shutting down at least. "Yeah. Yeah, that's just it. I don't... know."

"...You actually know him," Ichika says. "The good one, I mean. He's another Boss."

"...Anyway, it sucks about your old guy," she says. "I hope things got better. ...I mean, you seem to be doing OK now, right?"

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua nibbles her croissant, too, of course. It's delicious! But, of course, she's also listening.

Still... he wanted to protect her, and it warms Yua's heart, at least. "Having someone to protect you is very special," Yua says, with a dreamy little sigh. "Being important enough that someone would go to great lengths to keep you safe... is really a wonderful feeling."

Though... Ichika can't quite say she's safe, right now. "He isn't trying... but you don't feel safe, right?" She wonders, with concern.

"Ah, another Boss! Well, that would explain how he could protect you to begin with... but I guess a tough young woman like you has her own image to think about, too, right?" Yua supposes, rather than espousing all the benefits again, even though she'd dearly like to.

"Ah, I'm --" Yua starts, and then stops, because of course if she ever wants to get married to Miho in public she can't be known as someone who is still dating a man. She grasps her own cup of tea, looking down at it, as Ichika asks her question. It's the stress of lying about it all which lends fragility to her smile, even as she assures Ichika, with a touch of weariness: "I'm doing perfectly well."

Even if she wasn't lying about her fiancee, though... it would still be a lie.

        It's still a lie, because... she's exhausted.

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

Ichika tries the pastry. It is in fact delicious.

Yua seems happy about that concept. Ichika smiles faintly. "...Yeah," she says. "But losing it... hurts."

Does she feel safe? "...Yeah," Ichika answers. "I don't. I don't feel safe from him, or from... me."

A nod then, about the other Boss. "That's true too," Ichika says. "I've gotta think of how things look for my crew. I want people to respect them."

But Yua... is weary. And fragile. And probably doesn't want Ichika to point out those facts.

"...But you're right," she says. "It is a nice feeling. So I'll at least... think about it."

She hesitates. "Ah..."

"It's nice," she says. "That you... care. if I tried to talk about this stuff to most of our teachers they'd laugh at me, or worse."

"But um..."

"You really like sweets, huh?" Ichika tries to change the subject that isn't that sad smile of Yua's. "That's cool. I like a lot of flavors, but I feel like some people get older and start eating stuff they don't even like because they think it's more 'adult.'"

There. That'll do.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Losing it...?" Yua wonders, growing quite sad. "Oh... that would be quite awful. I..." Yua can't imagine losing Miho's safety... but she's had times where Miho couldn't protect her, hasn't she? "Yes," she smiles, through her sadness. "It's difficult, when that safety goes away. Or... I imagine it must be."

Ichika doesn't feel safe... from herself.

"There was a time... years before now... when I could have escaped a terrible situation," Yua relates, quietly. "But I stayed just where I was... because the person I loved promised I wasn't lost forever. So I kept myself there... but, since I made no effort... I destroyed any hope of our freedom. Of course... even saying I had a chance is really wishful thinking, but..." She's rather quiet, and focused on her tea, rather than Ichika. "... you are still young," she encourages her, lips thin. "All those doors... surely haven't closed for you, yet."

And how many doors have closed on Yua?

She has to take care of her students, just like Ichika's worried about her friends... but...

"... of course I care about you, Kawase-kun," she smiles, looking up to Ichika again. "I was... really happy when I got the opportunity to teach... ah, in this program. I know how some of those teachers act, but none of you are hopeless, it's really far too cruel to say something like that..."

She blinks, a little too heavily. "Goodness," she laughs, a touch awkwardly, "look at you, trying to reassure me! It really ought to be the other way around, you know?" But she takes that croissant, tearing off another little bit. "I do like sweet things, though," she admits, with a hapless little shrug. "I guess I just don't notice how I ought to be one way, when adults act the other way... but you know, some people are like that, and that's fine, you know? Japanese culture values conformity a little too much, I think, when it's harmless to have your own way of doing things."

<Pose Tracker> Ichika Kawase has posed.

"When someone you expect to take care of you does the opposite... It's rough."

But Yua relates a terrible situation. Ichika combines tea and pastry next, as she listens. It's not exactly talk that's good for the digestion, but it's important, Ichika thinks. Besides... "Sometimes it feels like they have," Ichika says. "...But not so much lately. I've been meeting new people, trying new things..."

"It's nice."

But 'of course', Yua says, and Ichika hedges a little, but--smiles when Yua says she was happy. "A lot of us feel that way," she admits. "...But maybe not."

But a blink. "Oh, well..."

Ichika flushes slightly in embarrassment at being called out. "You just seemed kind of sad," Ichika says, "And I'd hate to think I was..."

Japanese culture values conformity. "Yeah," Ichika says. "People should be able to be how they want to be."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"It must be very hard for you," Yua sympathises. "Well, in my case, the person I love would never reverse my protection that way... but there are some things which simply can't be guarded against at all."

That sounds... more complicated than a bad relationship.

"Keep trying new things," Yua encourages her. "What works for me... maybe it doesn't work so much for you. Maybe you need to find a new style...?"

She shakes her head, when Ichika says how many of them feel hopeless. "If you're told something enough times, you'll believe it," she advises her. "But I'll keep saying you're wonderful young people, regardless of any other input. Making a few mistakes... isn't enough to make you hopeless, you know? That's just... human."

She smiles, though, with more sympathy. "Oh -- no, dear, of course not," she shakes her head, "you didn't cause a lick of this. Really, I'm very glad you felt you were able to share these very personal things with me! It must have been hard," Yua says, in an effort to support her. "Please don't mind the things I say too much... it's just some personal business, all right? Just... some things going on. But I thought it was important you knew... you're not alone in your feelings. Forgive me, perhaps I said a little too much..."

She shakes her head, and takes a breath.

"... in my country, Okinawa," not her prefecture, notably, "we are much kinder to the differences between people. When Japanese people come to us, we often need to apologise for being in such disarray... but it isn't really an apology, you understand. Nankuru nai sa! One way or another, everything will work out," she translates the Okinawan, smiling.

"If you can't rely on yourself, rely on your friends," she adds, smiling to her. "Good friends will help you to regain your footing, so that you can face the world confidently. In Okinawa, we call the groups which form to support each other 'Yui-gumi'... people in a community who band together to perform acts of great effort with no expectation of payment, simply because there is need. Maybe you need 'Mutual Assistance' from your whole community... and not just your boyfriend, right now. Though I bet he can help! He really sounds lovely!"

Yua will happily keep telling Ichika more helpful fun facts about Okinawa as they finish their tea; it's a much safer topic than her own troubles, for her, emotionally speaking.

        Still...

... something must be going on with her, right?
