"I won't be held down."

An upstanding(?) student at Kasugayama High School, Ichika Kawase garners respect and deference as the Thorn Boss, one of the gang leaders of the student body. She's an unusual figure as Bosses go, being a former Seven Sisters girl--and involved with another Boss, the Spike Boss who's also in her year. But that apparently isn't enough to satisfy her, and she's been spotted with other boys. Even her gang has mixed genders. Ichika can be standoffish but is quick to come to the defense of mistreated girls, and is like a different person if you actually see her relaxed. What she doesn't talk about with most is her experience with loss, or the reasons that she's so protective of the girls and women around her. But she has also started delving into the world of the supernatural, after an encounter with a particular Shadow, now wears the mask of Rebellion as an ogre seeking purpose in the hidden places of the world.

Background

Ichika's background is the subject of a lot of rumors at Kasugayama High School, and only some of them are true. It's known that she's a 'rich girl'--she went to Seven Sisters High for her first two years and only came to Cuss High for her third. It's known that her family lives in Iwatodai, right by Tatsumi Port Island.

It's a little less commonly known why she left Seven Sisters. Apparently she was kicked out, but only the real rumor heads know the reason. The suspicion is that it was some kind of ugly breakup. That would serve a girl like her right.

Persona

A Shadowy woman in a beautiful maple-patterned kimono, with long horns on her head and a fierce, sharp-toothed expression. Her black hair is long and loose; she has terrible claws on her fingers. One hand carries a greatclub; the other, a scroll. Momiji was a demoness of Mount Togakushi, who had once gone to court but was exiled by the wife of her lover. She brought writing and culture to the village where she settled, but also raided the surrounding areas with her gang.

Special Skills

Ichika is a great cook, and is known to sometimes cook for the other girls in her dorm. She has her driver's license. And she can fight. She can fight really well, actually, weathering a lot of challenges to her authority as the Thorn Boss with sheer force. More to the point, she's very fashionable, reasonably gutsy, and has great intuition and understanding of others' feelings.

Her Approaches are as follows:

  • Nature Talk - Ichika discusses the beauty of nature--or uses her practical skills gained from years camping and hiking.
  • Thorn Boss - Ichika assumes the mantle of the Thorn Boss, approaching a situation with toughness, grit, and beauty.

Angry with the systems that have failed his daughter, he does his best to support Ichika now. He's not very emotionally demonstrative, but he has a soft spot for other youths the system hsa failed. Suika Kawase (NPC) Mom II. The High Priestess Mother 40. Supportive and protective of Ichika; while she may seem permissive, it's in service of keeping Ichika where she can see and help her. Loves music, doesn't really trust the police. Ichika confides in her a lot. (川瀬 水夏)
Toshiaki Kawase (NPC) Nii-san XI. Strength Brother Died at 17. Would be 19. Ichika's older brother,, who died tragically in a 'hiking accident'. In reality, he was killed through a Mental Shutdown, the result of which happened in front of Ichika. She intends to avenge him. (川瀬 俊明)

The Hanged Man Sister While Ichika is still inclined to protect Ririka from a lot of things, she's found that Ririka is growing into someone who can do the protecting of others in her own right. Ichika's aware that she's involved in the supernatural, and in SEES in specific--but she may level with her soon about her own involvement...

Hibari Aoki Hibari-chan XVII. The Star Friend / Gangmate / Teammate Hibari always seems to know things. Ichika knows why these days--she relies on Hibari, and considers her a close friend. One of the few people Ichika would say is a better cook than she is... because Hibari's not just going to be a cook but a /chef/. A Rumormonger!
Shuyo Hayama (NPC) Shuyo-kun II. The High Priestess Ex-Boyfriend / Friend He and Ichika dated very briefly--until he revealed to her that he preferred guys, and she decided she was fine with that. Great at networking, very playful, and has been Tsubasa's roommate. Ichika likes and confides in him, though soon the Gang won't be as relevant, when they graduate...
Shizuko Kato (NPC) Shizuko-chan XI. Strength Princess / Friend A self-admitted coward who hates being hit, Shizuko welcomes Ichika's protection--and Ichika is glad to give it. She does crimes for fun, but has a good family support situation. She's still steady with her boyfriend Ikumi Nakai, and may be moving on to places where she needs less protection soon...

The Chariot Friend / Ex-Boyfriend Ichika had great chemistry with Ryuji early on, and joined the Phantoms while dating him--but in the end, their different life stages--and the difficulties of him trying to live up to her needs--saw her end the relationship. Maybe it oculd've been different if not for everything coming out in Eiji's Palace all at once, or maybe one year is too big when it's /this/ year. Either way, she's giving him space, but hopes to remain friends.
