  • Summary: In transit to London for the Olympics, it's a very long flight for Yua and Miho. But Miho has planned ahead--and Yua has things to say about someone who is a name, not a number.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Thursday is here, and that means it's time to go to London! Yua said her farewells yesterday; luckily, Eiko's taken care of most of the packing. (Having servants to do things is so strange...)

Yua's only ever flown from Okinawa to the mainland; a recognised international flight is another thing entirely. She's nervous, but luckily, Miho is right there to navigate through the lengthy onboarding process for her. ... and the fact that they're flying first-class certainly doesn't hurt.

(Yua is quite taken by the little mints in the lounge.)

Now they're safely in their private suite in the jet, though -- because first-class passengers have their own private suites! -- all they need to do is last out the day it's going to take to fly to London. (Their flight left early, luckily; and Yua and Miho weren't even that put out leaving before the sun was even up.) They have nice flat beds in this suite -- with seatbelts across the middle as the only thing betraying them to be airline -- and a flat-screen television for entertainment. The seats are even beside each other, and there's a door that can slide closed!

And these suites are of course advertised to couples, but there's nothing saying two single women can't travel together in one.

Once they're up to cruising altitude, Yua's able to free herself from the seatbelts of one of those seats, streeeetching upwards. "Aaaa, this is so nice...!" She exclaims, and she, at least, is terribly excited. "I didn't even know there were parts of the plane like this!!"

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Thursday!! And a farther journey than the last time Miho was obligated to fly out of the country. One might assume that a woman like Miho would jet all over the world, but this is not actually so; the international business partners her company meets with largely come to Japan. The last Olympics weren't nearly as distant as London. ...But Miho is still more familiar with these amenities than Yua.

The mints are nice enough.

Miho smiles, when Yua stretches. "It is," Miho agrees. "It quite removes the sting of our long travels..."

A beat, "It isn't on every plane, of course. But the kind on which we'd like to travel.."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"When I went on a plane, it was a lot more like... a fancy bus?" Yua supposes, tapping a finger to her chin. She is of course referring to a coach... and with that, to the dreaded economy class of flights. "But that was just to get here from Okinawa... I can't believe this flight will take most of a day!" Yua pauses. "Mimi, can the plane really stay up that long?" She asks, a touch nervous. "Shouldn't we stop somewhere on the way?"

As if Miho has the power to stop the plane for refueling!!!

"Ahhhh, and tomorrow's the opening ceremonies, too!! And you're in the Parade... won't you be tired?" That's what the bed is for, Yua!!

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

A fancy bus. "Yes, that is generally how they work, isn't it?" For the Poors. Miho has never been on that side of the plane. The... economy class. It's a foreign land to her!

"It's farther than I've gone as well," she says. "It is difficult to believe we will be in the air for so long..." A smile. "But I can think of no better company than yours. Particularly not when we have privacy."

She does like privacy.

"...But yes, I may be tired. That is why at least some of our time in this cabin will be spent on sleep."

"But no, the plane can stay up that long. It's designed for this purpose."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"It's not so bad... but it would be hard to stand up like this!" Streeeeetch.

        Yua, tragically, was the Poors.

"It's lucky we have our own cabin!" Yua sparkles in her happiness, turning to clasp Miho's hands. "We're really alone right now, right?" Luckily, the flight attendants check in on a schedule for meals. They could flag one down before then... but why would they want other people in here?

"Oh, but London will have a different time to us, right? So when should we be sleeping...? Mama was warning me about 'jet lag'..." But of course, they left before sunrise on Thursday, and that means that they'll be landing early Thursday evening in London. How does that work with them travelling for a day? International date line, baby.

Which means Miho has a choice: either sleep now, right after they woke up... or in the middle of the flight, which is wrong both ways... or towards the end of the flight, hoping that she can add the sleep from the flight to whatever sleep she manages to steal in the hotel the night before the Games.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

"It would."

Lucky! Yes, it's very lucky, and not a specific thing Miho looked for and spent money on. Definitely. "We are," Miho confirms. "The attendants will only check in as scheduled. I have ensured it would be so."

But London will have different time, that is true. Jet lag... Hmmm.

Miho does have a choice. "A reasonable choice would be to continue to sleep right now," Miho says. "But I feel that would be boring, and lazy."

"A second alternative is to sleep in the middle of the flight..."

"But that's unideal."

"No, we will keep ourselves busy and entertained for the flight, and sleep towards the end of the flight, plus whatever we can manage in the hotel the night before."

A smile.

"Yes, I have it planned."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"You thought of everything, Mimi!" Yua compliments her, brightly, when she assures them the attendants are on a schedule.

And that's not the only thing Miho's thought of! She goes on to tell her all about their options for sleeping, and Yua looks up at her, blinking her one crimson eye. "Wow... you really did think of everything!" She exclaims, her smile spreading wide over her face.

"Though," she adds, a touch more sly, "there's one thing I heard of we'll need to save for the flight back..."

The plane, as if scandalised, picks that very moment to fly through a touch of turbulance, and Yua yelps as her footing threatens to lose itself. "Yeek--!"

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

She has thought of everything! But indeed, they have many options, and...

A smile back to Yua. "It would be tempting," she says, and the plane picks that moment--Yua yelps, but Miho catches her, and spins her about to dip her down towards the floor of the cabin.

"...But we will remain disciplined, yes?' she says, pleased.

"Do not worry. I will always catch you."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Oh!" Yua gasps, and her fear over the plane CRASHING and everyone DYING is squirrelled away, sleight of hand, as Miho doesn't miss a beat catching her and dipping her down. Her wide-eyed alarm softens to something more keenly warm, and as she catches her breath in Miho's arms, she curls a leg about her back. "So I see," she says, her face flushed. "Why, quite a lot of excitement...!"

She arcs back upwards, with Miho's aid, and takes a seat on the side of the bed, still grasping Miho's arm. "But, ahhh, maybe I'll sit down for now... my stomach's a little upset already, you know?" Maybe she ate too many fancy mints! Maybe. She rubs Miho's arm, as she assures her: "But I'm sure I'll be more used to the flight the next time!"

You know. Assuming it's the flight in the the first place.

"Hmm... what if I tell you about yesterday, instead?" Yua wonders, tilting her head. "We were all so busy with getting ready, I didn't find any time for it..." Well, that, and Yua had to decide whether telling Miho would count as telling them in Yanagi's eyes; by the time she reasoned that she wouldn't expect her to treat her fiancee with that level of suspicion, they were already in bed, and of course Yua and Miho have much more important things to talk about beneath covers.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

It's fine. It's fine! Miho smiles down at Yua. "Yes," she agrees. "Quite a lot."

But she moves Yua back upward, and helps her down. Her stomach is upset... It is probably not the flight. Miho considers that, and smiles. "Of course," she says, allowing this polite fiction. But... she may, separately, be more used to the flight.

But yesterday? "Very well," Miho says, and takes a seat as well, comfortably lounging about in the lovely cabin. She sticks close to Yua.

"Do tell," she says. "I'm interested."

Miho could count. But she probably doesn't have to.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

It might be that other thing, but would saying it be jinxing it? Yua worries about these things!

Yua, of course, tugs Miho down to sit on the bed beside her. Just because it's not really big enough for two people lying down doesn't mean it's not fine sitting up! And that means she can wrap an arm and a leg around her, because she had to keep at a polite distance for the entire way into the flight and that's terrible.

"That was a big shock, too," Yua explains, rubbing that infernal compression sock binding her leg against Miho's shins. (She has to wear proper shoes and socks which are trying to strangle her. Truly, this is the greatest sacrifice.) "Because... I met someone else from 'back then', Mimi. But I thought she died..."

She frowns, looking up to her fiancee. "You remember... that time I mentioned how I'd torment someone who couldn't even fight back? Um... I think they thought if I trapped her, she'd develop the Potential... well, that's what they'd say to each other. But they never were able to give her a Persona. All I did was frighten her to death... I thought I really did, for real. They never told me anything different, when she disappeared, too..."

And there's a story in that final word she doesn't quite elucidate, in that piecemeal way she relates back then, with a thousand details still clouded to Miho's sight. "But -- but I saw her -- she knew those accursed Numbers, it was assuredly her! Except -- except her name's Yanagi, Mimi, Yanagi Nagisa, Nagi-Nagi, see? And -- and the Powers that Be think she really is dead, so -- so she escaped!" Her face lights up, as she relates it. "She's really okay! Um, not like I could ask a lot of questions about how that is, it wasn't really safe for her... but she's free now, Mimi! Isn't that great?!"

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

It really was terrible.

But a big shock? Miho leans into Yua and listens. She is aware of the noted sacrifice. But back then...

"I remember," Miho says, because she remembers all of the horrors that Yua has related, has etched them on her heart as the foundation of her vengeance. But apparently, a girl was frightened to death... Only... not.

"Disappeared, hm?" Miho asks. "...Ordinarily I would assume they had sent her to some other facility, but..."

"If you say she is free, then perhaps she escaped."

After all--a name. Not a number.

"Yanagi Nagisa..."

She escaped. Miho smiles. "That is well," she says. "I am glad that she has done so. ...It is regrettable, that we shouldn't press into the details."

"But I am glad. Hearing that someone escaped that pit is good."

"...How do you feel?"

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua rubs at Miho's arm, watching her tawny hand, for the moment, rather than Miho's face. "I wondered if she'd been sent somewhere else there," she says, "like Recchi, but... I never saw her again. And... she was very ill. Even back then, even without the drugs... she was very sick, Mimi."

Yua sighs. "She's still sick," she says, "like, she needed a walking stick to walk... so maybe they thought she was dying, but she stubbornly held on?"

They are the kinds of people to throw a human being away, Yua thinks, bitterly.

"She was worried if I'd tell 'them' about her... but if they don't ask, how am I supposed to know what they want to know?" Yua asks, a touch petulant. "Though, I told her all about us... since she knew I was waiting for you to save me that whole time. And she was really happy for us!" Yua adds, a smile returning to her face as she looks up to Miho.

"I was very shocked when it happened, I didn't feel very, mentally steady... but it's about discipline, right? Discipline!" Yua repeats, firmly. "So -- so I invited her for a drive, so the Powers that Be wouldn't invite themselves into our conversation, and I managed to calm down pretty good. Plus, afterwards we had all this preparation to do..."

She takes a breath, and lets it out in a light sigh. "Now... I'm really happy she got out," she decides, examining herself. "But I'm also a little sad... since I said we should have a party if I escaped since it won't be safe for her to come to any wedding of ours, but... I'm not sure an 'if' that big will happen while she's still here." Or ever, maybe, but that's too sad to say.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Miho remains. "...I see." Very ill...

And she still is. "Mm. It is possible," she says. "If they thought there was no further use for her..." She considers. No, it's much more likely that they'd have disposed of her. She must have escaped. Miho's thoughtfulness may be clear to Yua, this close. But it's more brooding than speaking, until Yua continues.

But worried... "True," Miho says, "Misdirection is a shield. But the less you know, the less you can be made to reveal. ...It is well that you told her of us. She seems as if she was important to you."

Shocked, and... "Yes," she says. "Discipline is key." Pause. A drive... "Wise."

She is thoughtful then. "...Yes. I'm glad... But... I understand." She had said that, but...

"...Yes. I cannot say it will be so. I do not know the future yet."

"But we will do our best for that, too, now."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Mm..." Yua hums, sadly, at the thought of Yanagi coming to her usefulness's end. She can tell that Miho is thinking through it all, but she's a little too occupied with her emotions to join in her scheming.

Still, "She was," Yua says, her expression troubled. "No... now she's alive, she is! I warned her of everything I could... it was nothing she couldn't figure out on her own, knowing us 'back then', you know? And, how I wouldn't be able to protect her if they realised they ought to ask, either..." Yua sighs, and grouses: "... it really frustrates me!"

Her own powerlessness in the face of the Powers, presumably.

"Mm... we will, right?" Yua asks, looking up to Miho. "And you can't think of everything if you don't know what's going on, either..." Which explains why she'd tell Miho, despite the virtues of ignorance she just espoused.

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

It's less a scheme and more a conclusion: Yanagi escaped, somehow. But what does that mean? That, Miho doesn't know yet.

But she is, not was, and Miho inclines her head. "Good," she says. "...That is good. You did what you were able for now, and that goes a long way. But... Not far enough, no."

It frustrates her, as well it should. "It is troublesome," she agrees.

"...But we will." A pause. "I cannot, that is true. I must know all that I can, that I can make plans appropriately. However, I think..."

"If she was able to escape, and to stay away, then she must have some secret, some friendship or mechanism by which she was able to maintain her freedom. So do not despair. Put another way..."

"If she's been out this long, that suggests to me that she can stay out."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

Yua sighs another big sigh, as if she could express all her frustrations without saying a single word. "Moooouuuuuuu," she pouts, then, because the sigh just didn't cut it.

"What I can do is never enough to do it," she grumbles, pouty. She has so much trouble!!

But Miho validates her choice to tell her, and Yua smiles, at least, at that. "You're right," she agrees, then. "I did tell her Myucchi would be a good friend to have, since they're not with us... but I got the feeling she must have had someone else she couldn't tell me about. Right?"

She hums, and nods, thoughtfulness crossing over her own eye. "That's right!" She decides, brightening up. "I've got to have some faith in her. She must have some clever trick or something, if she's hidden this long!"

<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.

Mouuu...

Miho gives Yua a lean, wrapping an arm around her. "I know."

But she smiles. Myunghon does make a good friend to many... But someone else? "Yes," she says. "That seems very likely."

She catches the thoughtfulness, and Miho is pleased to see it of Yua. They may be off away from all these issues...

But they will be there, when they return.

"Indeed. ...So let's relax a bit. I believe we brought some things to do..."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ooshiro has posed.

"Mimiiiiiii," Yua lilts, leaning against Miho in turn. Her name is grateful on her lips; she does feel better, being wrapped up like this.

Which, of course, explains the way she's wrapping around Miho. They can't run away from all of this, after all.

But... maybe it's fine to run for a little while. Even Miho says they should relax, after all! So Yua looks up to her, with a warm smile. "I want... to watch an in-flight movie, with Memimi!" She declares, boldly. "I always heard about them, but our trips were all too short..."

Yua's always fancied foreign cinema, so the kinds of movies they'd have on a trip to London should suit her just fine.

        Particularly with the company.
