Miho won! Miho won!!! Miho won!!!!!

The GREATEST tragedy was how long it took Yua to reunite with her fiancee, after that victory, to congratulate her; Miho had to deal with a lot of cameras and formalities, before then. More tragic still was how long it took them to get somewhere private so that she could embrace her properly, but luckily, Miho's booking at an upscale fine dining restaurant accounted for that.

(They have a private room, because the very wealthy oughtn't need to mingle with the mere rich. England has a longstanding noble tradition; as a country, it understands these things.)

The steak they've ordered is lovely, tender and rare; candles soften the lighting, and Miho, at least, has a lovely glass of wine. (Yua has some nice peach juice, instead.) Under the table, Yua's hooked her ankle around Miho's leg, even as she pops a slice of steak into her mouth above it. Nom, nom...

"It's so good!" Yua sparkles with her appreciation. "Ahhh, Mimi... you really won! I knew you could do it! I'm so happy I could be here for you now... and not just me!!"

Being wealthy also helps the processing time on blood tests, incidentally.

It took way too long! ...There was a lot to do. Cameras, formalities... and then somewhere private. A private room was just the thing, and as a country, England does indeed understand these things. It's a beautiful country, really. But Miho has eyes now only for the beauty of one small, one-eyed dancer, with blue hair and dark skin.

...She can appreciate the meal, too, though. Meat is precisely what she craves after exertion like that.

"It is," Miho agrees. "Tender, and flavorful. It is well-prepared."

And she won. Miho smiles. "I did," she says. "I am pleased. I'm happy that you both could be here, too. It made victory... sweeter."

It sure does help.

Yua appreciates a good steak, though of course she craves Miho more. Luckily: she gets both! "Mmhm, mmhm!" Yua hums, happily, around another mouthful.

"I promised... and I finally got to be here!!" Yua chirps, brightly. "I guess it would've been hard to hear me out there... but I was cheering as hard as I could, Mimi! You know I was!!" If she hadn't been warned away from strenuous physical exercise, she might well have done a little dance with pompoms.

Yua places her knife down, for a moment, so she can reach over and lay her tawny fingers against Miho's imperial-pale arm. "Mimi, when the foils are done tomorrow, can we go to the Globe to celebrate more? Well, the reconstruction... it's still historic, you know!!" Fencing matches end by mid-afternoon, and on a day when Miho isn't wrapped up in the confirmation proceedings afterwards...

Both! Both is good.

Miho sips her wine, thoughtful. There is much to contemplate after today; she has a lot on her mind, but in a good way. Images, memories...

She will indeed remember this day.

"You did," Miho answers Yua, still smiling at her. "I didn't need to hear you with my ears," Miho says. "I heard you more on another level. I know full well how hard you were cheering." Pompoms would've been adorable, but she was warned away from it.

Miho looks to Yua's hand, then to Yua. "Hmm..."

The Globe.

"It is," Miho agrees, and--well, from her perspective, a reconstructed building is still the building. The 'feeling' is still there, even if the materials have changed.

"Yes," she says. "We can do that."

And Yua will make sure she has a little more to remember, before the day is out. That's later, though. Now --

"That's right!" Yua grins, all but beaming. "We're connected, so you could hear me even though I was all drowned out! You're amazing, Mimi!!" Is it a metaphor? Well, Yua will call her amazing, anyway.

And she sparks with new excitement, when Miho assents to her idea of celebration. "Yay!" Yua, who is twenty-two of God's years old, still says 'yay' entirely unironically. She is so cute. "It's just like where Shakespeare held his plays, Mimi, you'll love it!!" Because of course Yua isn't the only one with a love of the arts, here.

Why, Miho can be just as theatrical as her!

Later will be very good.

Now is good, too. "Hm hm." Miho laughs softly, at that, sipping her wine. "We are amazing," she answers instead.

But that new excitement, well--'yay' is right! Miho is far less demonstrative, but still pleased about it. Especially with Yua being so cute. "Yes," Miho answers. "I'm sure that I will. I do enjoy seeing them... and it's nice to see them performed in English now and then."

Miho does love the arts. And--

"I love you, Yua."

She says it again, freely.

"Hehehe...! We are!" Yua giggles, too. She's more prone to giggling than Miho is, though of course she's also known to titter. Pick her up and she even squeals!!

(Though one must be careful picking Yua up right now. She needs to be treated more delicately now she's carrying someone, too.)

"Mm! That's right, they're all in English! Though I guess the original language isn't quite like English... it's the older one, umm... Middle English," Yua remembers, after a moment's thought. "But apparently native speakers can read it pretty easily, you know? Even if it was tougher when I was learning the plays..." Yua has an excellent grasp of English, but she still doesn't intuitively know if a word is wrong in English, so every time she'd run into an old-timey word she'd be plagued with figuring out whether it was a normal word she didn't know or a Shakespeare-specific one.

Yua abandons her meal for another brief moment to steal Miho's hand from her, though of course her trailing fingers on her arm give her some warning before she lifts her hand up, to press a kiss into the place where her wrist meets the heel of her hand. "I love you, too," she murmurs, looking up from her skin with a warm smile.

It's a good thing Miho booked them a private booth.

Miho can still pick her up. Carefully.

"Yes," Miho answers, engaged in that conversation. "Though I believe it's also considered more formal compared to modern English... ironic, given that that wasn't the case at all in Shakespeare's time." As to words, well. All words are normal words when Miho uses them. She makes it so!

Miho takes a break from her meal, as well, accepting Yua's theft of her hand--and sighing, at the soft pressure of a kiss there. "Mmm..."

Yes. Yes, it is.

What a relief! She's not conveniently travel-sized for nothing!!

(Though we note here that it actually takes quite a lot of effort to maintain Yua's diet such that she won't strain her partners during lifts. And even with that dieting, genetics plays a large part, too; there's little she can do to affect either her height or how slight she naturally is. But through luck and effort, she is, indeed, travel-sized.)

"He was really a very crass man!" Yua laughs, with a touch of disbelief. "But I suppose things from the past are just naturally fancier..." ... like the Ijuuin name, for instance?

Yua's cheeks flush, prettily, as Miho expresses her appreciation. "We'll want to get back early tonight," she assures her, and she hardly needs to be as crass as Shakespeare with the tone of her voice. "The competitions begin quite early..."

(They do, actually; these Olympic fencing bouts typically commence around four in the morning, proving that Yua and Miho's early-waking schedule was in fact an excellent habit. Regardless of any other intent, that's still true.)
