The interior of Peacock Silk is as chic as ever. The mannequins have been rearranged throughout the day, ever so slightly, every time there's been a client in the store today--just a little bit, every time they weren't looking.

Yanagi's particularly proud of the mannequin she subtly moved to be staring at a customer when previously it was looking up at the ceiling. When the customer noticed, they screamed and ran out. Oh, how she laughed!

Maybe that's why it feels right to call Eriko in to pick up her order today. The other employees of Peacock Silk are momentarily engaged otherwise, so it's just Yanagi on the floor, reading a fashion magazine featuring none other than Eriko herself. She's seated at the rolling chair of her jewelry-making station, but she's finished all of her recent commissions--it's just a matter of the clients coming in to pick them up.

Today, her long, wavy, ash-gray hair is pinned up on each side of her head with turquoise pinions set in silver that match the long, ocean-colored silk dress she's wearing today. Silver loops adorn her ears and her wrists, and her ankles curl with pearls. She is otherwise barefoot; her walking cane hangs from the side of her station within arm's reach.

Peacock Silk remains a highly fashionable (if expensive) place to visit, and Eriko has been waiting for the chance to visit again. Certainly, a store that sells the needs for persona users due to rumours is interesting, but it's rare someone sets up on their own unless they're a money hungry fairy and she's pretty sure Peacock Silk doesn't charge enough to be secretly run by Trish.

Though fortunately no one has told her about a haunted mannequin, because if they did, Eriko would have been here sooner. Instead, she arrives just in time for her appointment, opening the door to the boutique and looking around for both the staff and for the updates to the store. She is, after all, deeply interested in all sorts of fashion.

Still, when she sees Yanagi, she offers a smile- even if she is caught by surprise by the magazine she's reading. After all, she doesn't remember that shoot going particularly well, personally. Certainly, the smile she gave upon entering is much more comfortable and real than the one on that magazine cover. "Good afternoon, Miss Nagisa. It's nice to see you again!"

Yanagi's own choice of fashion is pretty impressive, the jewelry working beautifully with the dress, and styled excellently. Eriko is hardly surprised that Yanagi is looking fashionable, but she's certainly impressed nonetheless. "I must say, that's an excellently put together ensemble. Are the accessories are all your own work?" It's far from impossible they are, and if so, it shows quite a range of skills.

Even a high-end fashion boutique can't match Trish's exorbitant prices. At least Peacock Silk will accept trades of cognitive goods in place of money.

The sound of the door opening doesn't lift Yanagi's head from the magazine at first; she's a bit absorbed in examining the pictures of the latest trends in clothes and jewelry as shown off on Eriko's own body. Maybe the shoot hadn't gone well in real life, but the pictures did come out well in Yanagi's opinion!

Even if Eriko's smile does seem stiff--particularly compared to the one she gives her right now, in real life.

"Oh, Eriko!" she chirps, looking up when she's greeted. "It's lovely seeing you too!" She smiles coquettishly at the compliments and turns her head to better show off the hair pins, then her wrists to show off the silver bands, and then her feet to show off the pearls. On closer inspection, Eriko may realize that the pearls aren't pearls, but pearlescent beads of moonstone. They shimmer in the light. "They are! I do generally prefer, well, jewels, but silver wire is so important to work with. Sterling silver is one of the most important metals in the business, next only to..." She leans back on her seat and turns to face the display case next to her station. "Ta-dah~!"

She flips the light next to her, and it spotlights a central piece in the case: a garter made with gold thread and filum regium to replicate lace--the filum regium allows it to stretch as needed, but it closes again with the gold thread for a snug fit. At the crossroads of the gold and alchemical threads, a tiny polished onyx is set. That's where the accessory's anti-Darkness defenses come into play, as Eriko had requested previously. It isn't the rose quartz and copper they'd discussed previously, but this both matches Eriko's usual style and will defend her against those naughty demons.

"What do you think?" Yanagi asks with a bright, enthusiastic smile as she watches Eriko's face.

Oh, are they on a first name basis already? Well, it's not weird for Eriko to jump that quickly, but again, she spent half of her life in a *very* different culture. She has no problems with Yanagi skipping any honorifics, however- she barely uses them herself except in formal environments.

Eriko is very appreciative to see the rest of the jewellery, the earrings, the hairpins, and the pearls that aren't. "Oh my, I thought those were pearls initially, what a wonderful effect." Eriko does have a passion for fashion, and sometimes that passion overlaps with her other passion. "The Romans considered it the stone of the Goddess Diana. They associated them with love, wealth and success back them, while Hindu mythology considered them a stone that let one have sweet dreams." Eriko looks up again at Yanagi, with a slightly awkward smile. "I apologize, I can be prone to going off on tangents. I hope I'm not just repeating things you already know."

Still, her eye is drawn to the piece Yanagi made for her as she introduces with a touch of theatricality that Eriko can at least appreciate. The first look on Eriko's face is, indeed, wonder. "Oh my!" It's hardly her usual style- it's not that she doesn't wear racy things for shoots, but it's definitely distant from her usual style. She's wearing the same outfit as last time, but specifically because this is the outfit the piece was supposed to go with. "It's beautiful. Perhaps a touch on the saucy side, but that's not a bad thing." After all, she uses her sex appeal to negotiate with demons all the time.

It's more the decisions humans make about that that cause problems.

"May I try it on? I'm eager to see how it looks, and get a feel for it."

<Pose Tracker> Yanagi Nagisa has posed.

They can be! Yanagi always jumps to first name basis immediately--and for that same reason, she doesn't mind if others don't do it back. It's all about free will, baby!

"You are," Yanagi tells Eriko matter-of-factly. "But I don't mind. It's nice to see someone else who knows about the mythology and symbolism behind gemstones too." She rotates her ankles with effort--her legs are dangerously thin--before she leans forward and sets her bare feet down on the floor. "Pearls are hard to get your hands on. There's nothing for that--it's a matter of scarcity. But I do love the way they look, so I looked into some particularly shiny moonstones to replicate their look. It works quite well from a distance, as you've already observed!"

But this isn't what Eriko is here for. That is the showpiece that Yanagi shows off next, and the wonder on Eriko's face makes it all worth it. "Not at all! It'll help draw out your natural sexiness," Yanagi says, and if it's not quite matter-of-fact, it's with a bit of sauce and spice. "Really, though, the thighs are all the skin I had to work with! You said you wanted something to go with your current outfit, but you have a haircut that curls in over your ears, a high neck, long sleeves, and knee-high boots! Honestly!" Yanagi gives her an exaggerated pout, though the sparkle in her eye betrays her lack of real frustration. "Were you maybe looking for a crown instead?"

A broad smile chases away the fake annoyance, and she lifts the gold-and-onyx garter from the case to offer it up to her former schoolmate. "Please do! We have mirrors all about--the best full length ones are in the back, with the changing rooms." She points, a bit of wicked mischief in her grin. "Just past those mannequins! <3"

<Pose Tracker> Eriko Kirishima has posed.

Well, at least she's not making Yanagi uncomfortable. "I admit the mythology is my primary interest. I certainly don't have the expertise to appreciate gemstones the way you do. Your passion for them, on the other hand, is obvious in your work and how you talk about them." Eriko sighs. "Sometimes you can just tell when someone doesn't care about the designs they're making, even as a model." Still, a thought strikes her. "That said, I wonder if some sort of oyster demon out there has them, they might be easier to get ahold of, but maybe the properties would be too different."

Eriko does notice how thin Yanagi's legs are, and she has to assume it has to do with her illness. She doesn't stare, or draw attention beyond the attention drawn by the jewelry.

Though that could be a statement in and of itself, couldn't it? Jewelry that draws attention to those thin legs, maybe a challenge, daring someone to comment?

There's a brief moment where Eriko's concerned that she has offended Yanagi, but she does catch the other woman's intention. "Oh, no, I've had more than my fill of crowns. Enough demons out there seem to think of themselves as monarchs, next thing you know they're taking up the space in your bag that you need for energy drinks and chewing gum." Though it's true, Eriko really doesn't have much room for jewelry, and doesn't tend to wear a lot. Yanagi is one of the exclusive few who gets to say Eriko Kirishima will wear her work in her personal life. If Eriko's name meant more, that might be an endorsement later.

Eriko takes the garter carefully, able to admire the gold that emulates lace. It might not actually work to hold up stockings, but that's not the purpose. "Thank you! I'll be right back!"

Eriko slips past the mannequins into the changing room, removing her shoes before attempting to fit the piece. And to Yanagi's credit, no adjustments are needed. (The advantage of model measurements, admittedly.) Eriko takes a few moments to admire how it looks- the asymmetry adjusts the look of her outfit just a little, and the shine of the gold against her leg stands out, and it does, as Yanagi suspects, enhance her natural sexiness. Still, she has to step out from the changing room to check those full length mirrors. Surely nothing diabolical is waiting for her!

<Pose Tracker> Yanagi Nagisa has posed.

"Oooh, a pearl-making oyster demon?! That would be amazing!" Yanagi utters, clasping her hands to her face as her dark grey eyes sparkle. "I know they aren't stones, per se, but I really love the look and feel of pearls! Even if the properties are different, I'm sure I could make do!"

Of course, it's easy to say that without seeing the end result first--but they're just talking right now. If they wanted to make this happen, one of them would have to spread a rumor about it...

If Yanagi is silently challenging Eriko, she seems content to move right along when she doesn't rise to the bait. Indeed, she nods sympathetically with her complaining about demons. "Very true. They are cheeky little creatures." She smiles. "But that's part of their charm, isn't it?"

That smile widens as Eriko heads back to the changing room. She takes her walking cane in hand and gets up from her station...

...A few minutes later, she's right back where she is, reading that magazine again. When Eriko emerges from the changing room, though, several mannequins seem to be looking her way now...

...which could be said to be a compliment. Eriko's so sexy that even inanimate objects turn their heads!

<Pose Tracker> Eriko Kirishima has posed.

"Well, I'll be sure to let you know if I encounter one. I'll even give you first right of refusal for anything particularly nacreous I find." It's rare to hear someone else talk as casually about the supernatural as Eriko does, but at the moment shee feels something of a kindred spirit with Yanagi in terms of the wonderful things demons can provide. And, honestly? Seeing someone light up like that is always fun, frankly.

And of course, who would spread a rumour just to encounter a strange and unusual demon. (Eriko would. She really would, she's like that.)

"Cheeky is certainly a word for it," Eriko agrees. "Some of them are downright rude sometimes- but when you see an Orthrus don't you just want to scritch his chins and give him a treat? They're quite cute when they let you." Oh yes, Eriko can very much agree on the charms of demons.

And when Eriko steps outside of the changing booth to see the mannequins all arrayed to face her, she doesn't even blink. "Yanagi, you didn't tell me your mannequins were haunted!" She calls out playfully. "I'd expect this sort of thing from anatomy dummies, not from figures like you." This time, she addresses the mannequins, as if they were naughty children. "Or did you just want to give me the fashion show experience?"

Eriko smirks, as she moves to the mirror and assesses the Gold and Onyx Garter. ...Yeah, that's definitely a keeper. It feels fine, it doesn't impact her movement, and she'll have to put the magical part through their paces unless someone is keeping a pet demon nearby.

...Do Peacock Silk have a pet demon? Is that part of their trade secret?

Effortlessly, Eriko turns and performs a catwalk strut through the mannequins before stopping a little bit from Yanagi's station, turning right to pose and give a nice show of the jewelry on her right leg, before dropping back to casual Eriko. "Marvelously elegant, Yanagi!" She smils. "It's a pity I'll have to wait until tonight to put it through it's paces, I want to see how much it improves my performance right now. Ah, such is life."

<Pose Tracker> Yanagi Nagisa has posed.

"Oh! You're wonderful, Eriko! <3" Yanagi utters. "In that case, let me throw this in this hair clip with your new accessory!" She rolls her chair back to the display case, points one of her long, delicate fingers at the goods within, and picks out a solid gold hair clip from within. It's understated compared to some of the other pieces on display, since it's a piece meant for general sale rather than custom-made, but it's still, well... solid gold. Yanagi plucks it up and hands it to Eriko without a second thought. It matches the garter and will stand out in her beautiful dark hair without being too garish or attention-seeking, either.

"They are! And when they aren't trying to bite your fingers off for it," Yanagi says with enthusiasm and not a mote of irony or sarcasm. So many things that can kill you are beautiful! See: Yanagi's obvious love of the ocean and ocean-themed things...

When Eriko emerges and takes the mannequins in stride, Yanagi giggles in delight. She hears that change in name usage too, and she claps her hands together in delight. Beyond that, she doesn't remark on how Eriko is now calling her Yanagi. What comment does there need to be made? Especially when they can talk about haunted mannequins instead! "That's just their nature, you know! When a particularly stylish woman comes in, they can't help but turn their heads!" she calls gaily.

    They have a pet peacock!

    Is the peacock a demon?

    They'll never tell~

For now, though, Yanagi admires Eriko's strut back to the jewelry station, and claps when she turns and poses. Her English is not very good, but she knows enough from movies to understand her. "Such is life!" she chirps, echoing her. "I'd say anticipation enhances the experiences, but I'm not a particularly patient woman, either. Well then, shall we settle up the bill?"

It's not as expensive as it could be, considering Eriko has already pre-paid for some of it with the materials she sold before, but there's still some cost left after that. Labor costs a pretty penny. (A lovely yen?)
