- Summary: A kouhai shows her senpai a new (to the senpai) kind ofsupernatural space. The senpai... has some concerns.

-====================================================== Tokyo/Shibuya Ward ====-
Once you enter Mementos, however you manage it, the world will transform around
you. It's subtle at first. Initially, while you remain just before the entrance
of what should be Shibuya Station's Underground Mall entrance, there's just a
soft, fractal blueness at the edge of your vision. The city itself seems normal,
but all the people are gone, and it feels like you're walking on air.
Head down the stairs and no subtlety remains. Disturbingly vein-y lines,
dark-ish and reddish, dig through the floor, walls, columns, and ceiling. A set
of turnstiles mark the bottom of the stairs at your back, and in front, there's
a set of escalators leading deeper within. Snow plays on TV screens to either
side, and past them, would-be electric maps display cracked and broken.
Those Persona Users whose outfits transform will, while they were in their
normal clothes above, find them transformed here. No Shadows lurk in the
entrance, but they can still sense your presence at this point--so this is your
last chance to turn back.

How did you get here? Was it through a mysterious app on your smartphone?
Was it testing the Mementos Rumor in a bathroom mirror? Or perhaps you
simply had the daring to pull a trigger in a train station.
Whatever the case may be, you're here now.
A sickening nausea in the pit of your stomach, as you see sinew and ichor
festooning signs that make no sense, turnstiles that mark the way down
escalators to the station below.
There's a train pulled in right now, and as several listless looking human
shadows step inside, the door slams shut, before pulling away at blinding
speed, vanishing into the devouring darkness ahead.
Persona Users who have been here may have been forewarned as to what will
happen next, as the moment the train pulls away
... the escalators are flooded with Shadows descending down to the platform,
a whole mob of them. You only have seconds to expertly navigate the throng-
before you are trampled underfoot, or crushed against the platform walls by
them.
Of course, you could always do something more daring to let them know to
give you a wide berth. They're Shadows of people

Today, during the lunch break, a certain redheaded kouhai found her gymnastics senpai during lunch.
"Sorry to bother you, Motojima-senpai." Kasumi says with a sheepish smile. She steps back, wrapping her hands in front of her, very demure. "I was just wondering if you'd like to accompany me to Shibuya Station after school? I, um..." She lowers her voice ever so slightly. "Since we don't have club today, I wanted to get some training done, but it's pretty dangerous by yourself... So, I'd appreciate your company." What training she wants to get done? That'll have to be seen when they reach the station.
As they arrive near the Hachiko statue, Kasumi takes out her busted phone and taps on it several times. A curious Motojima might see the cracks across her screen, and the inputting of the Metanav. In a moment, the throngs of crowds disappear and replaced with the sickening red and black, vein line covered entrance to Mementoes.
Kasumi is quickly enveloped blue flames, changing school uniform for her black metaverse outfit. Boots that hug all the way up to the redhead's thighs. A leotard and a bolero jacket that extends down past her legs in individual strips clad her torso. She wears red gloves, and her identity is masked by a black mask. Belted across her hip is a thin silver chain, connecting a metallic rose on her right, and her rapier sheathed on her left.
The redhead turns back with a bit of bashful smile. "Sorry Senpai, for hiding this from you up to now." She pauses, not really sure if there's anything she could say to make it better. "Ahem. Please call me Belle as a codename when we're in supernatural spaces."
She cringes just a little bit. It's so awkward demanding something of a Senpai...! "A-and, um... Welcome to Mementos! Everyone's palace." Kasumi sweeps one of her hands towards further into the Palace. "We'll be able to get some training done here."

Kazusa's taken to eating her lunch alone--namely trying to give her friend Wakana more space. And truthfully she hasn't really felt all taht sociable these days regardless. So it's not hard to find her outside, under a tree, bento by her side and a notebook in her lap.
She looks up, frowning. "We get a day off from club and you want to do more training, Yoshizawa-san?" She snaps her notebook closed to give Kasumi her full attention, though. "Unless you're trying to perfect your new ribbon routine on the train tracks I don't see what's so dangerous."
She sighs. "But since you apparently like to charge into dangerous places I suppose someone has to keep an eye on you."
Later, she arrives, arms crossed. "So what's this training that was so important?" She frowns as she looks at the busted phone. "What dod you do to that thing?"
But she doesn't have long to wonder as Mementos engulfs them. "Wh-- wait what!?"
She, herself, undergoes her own transformation. Her eyes flash silver and her hair turns a pale blue the color of moonlight. Wolf ears with white fur stick out of her hair, and a black metal circlet with a moonstone in the center adorns her forehead. She has subtly pronounced gangs when she speaks, and a fluffy white fox tail. She's dressed in a dark purple tunic, pleated mini skirt, dark gray stockings, dark purple boots, and silver bracers. A heavy cloak with a starry pattern is drawn around her, and a curled up whip is on her hip.
But she doesn't have a mask.
Her ears and tail are both up and frizzed out, on high alert as she looks around. "Where are we!?"
She whips around to look at Kasumi, staring at her blankly for a moment. "... wait you're the girl that kept calling me senpai, aren't you!?" Her expression is angry, but under her cloak gives an approving wag as she looks Belle's outfit over.
blink. Call her Belle in this place, and that bahful smile... Kazusa's jaw drops a little. "Wait, that was you?" She huffs. "... Well I suppose your outfit is... serviceable."
But then she finally looks to Mementos as Kasumi--Belle--gestures. "... What kind of training could you possibly want to do here!?"

"Harsh as always, huh, Senpai?" Kasumi lets out a giggle. She might be a little curious to see how Motojima reacts after getting guilted just a bit. "I've got a place. Though, it might involve some train tracks..." She adds, after considering the condition of Mementos.
Later, Kasumi pockets it into her coat anyhow. "It's just been acting up lately." She replies. "I'm glad it worked for this at least..."
Kasumi smiles at Kazusa, as she tries to keep the 'squeee! So cute!!' instincts under wraps. (She may have also forgot the wolf tail is... Well, if not 'real', then functional.) "Sorry for hiding my identity up till now." She repeats, brushing a hand through her ponytail. "Yes, that was me.~ I couldn't exactly tell you, but... Well, I hope you'll forgive me." She offers a bow. "I was accompanying some of the Phantom Thieves, after all."
"This place..." Kasumi hums a bit, unsure how to describe it. "Do you know what a Palace is?" A beat. "It's essentially like...everyone's Atelier? ...Except it houses everyone's desires." It's strange, being the Senpai in supernatural affairs... Just a bit, anyways.
Anyways! 'Belle' turns, her jacket flows dramatically, as she leads the way into Mementos. "Many Shadows tend to gather around here. I thought we could get some practice fighting them."
As they enter Mementos properly, they meet a flood of Shadows descending the escalators. "Well! It appears we're meeting our first training session sooner than I thought.~" Belle leaps up onto the railing for the escalator. "Ready to go?~" She turns back with a wink, before charging down, aiming to use her dexterity to run across the being's heads.

Kazusa huffs a little and glances aside as she's called harsh. "W-well-- you just admitted to wanting to play on train tracks!" Or close enough, in Kazusa's book.
"U'm surprised it still works at all. You should at least replace the screen on that thing."
It's real enough for this! Kazusa thinks the cloak might hide it some. It kind of doesn't. Kasumi apologizes, and Kazusa tosses a strand of hair back behind her shoulder. "Don't worry about it," she says as she starts to turn. "I'm not exactly in a rush to tell anybody about this stuff either." But she almost trips as Kasumi mentions the Phantom thieves, and whips back around to face her kouhai. "Wait--did you say Phantom Thieves? As in, 'The Phantom THieves of Hearts'? They're real!?"
It make take her a moment to catch up to the fact that they helped rescue her.
But a Palace. "Aside from what you told me, I haven't heard a thing about them." She frowns a little as she looks around. "... why is everyone's desires a subway station...?" One of her ears splays a little as she asks that.
She's actually curious.
Her own cloak flows as she follows after Belle. "... Okay, I heard about what Shadows in Ateliers are, but I don't know what Shadows in... Mementos, you said? What are they?"
Fighting. "... So that's the 'practice' you wanted. Good thing I came with you to keep an eye on you," she mutters.
Kazusa blinks as Kasumi just winks at her. "Wha...? What's gotten in to you?" But as Belle goes for running across heads, Kazusa goes for her whip.
She snaps it out with a flick of her wrists, tracing several, elegant patterns in the air with it as she gets her arm warmed up, and then snaps it high overhead to latch onto something on the ceiling, pulling herself up as she tries to swing across, though she's got a little bit of her graceful rhtyhmic gymnastics motion in the mix.

"Money doesn't grow on trees you know, Senpai." Kasumi replies reflectively. She brushes it off with a smile. "It's fine. Truly."
A beat. "Oops, did I reveal that?~" Kasumi claps her hands together and tilts her body with a bashful smile. "Please forget that I said that." She says in a very cutesy fashion. Internally, she goes 'Crud! Senpai is gonna be so mad at me!' Then, she realizes something else, and waves her hands in front of her!! "Wait, I'm not apart of the Phantom Thieves either! They were just the ones who saved me back then... And that operation wasn't a Phantom Thieves matter!" She lets out a sigh. Oh, brother, she's really messing this up...
Kazusa wonders about the Subway system, and Kasumi...just sort of shrugs. "Something about human cognition...? I don't really understand it either." And she's supposed to be an honours student...
Yup~! Fighting! "Ummm? All I know is that they mostly show up as beings from our collective unconscious? Mythological figures, and the like. When you tear off their masks, at least."
It's best to keep moving. Kasumi attempts to charge forward, landing on each shoulder one by one. However, her approach wasn't as...fool-proof as she had hoped. One of her heels slips, but thankfully Kazusa is there to catch her. Still, the suddenness of the slip spooks Kasumi and she lets out a yell. "Jeez! Sorry, Senpai..." She grabs onto Kazusa's arm. "Thanks for catching me..."

A plodding bulbous behemoth bursts out of the dark, the eyeholes of various
masks glittering. And upon striking you-!
It unravels, as if so many shadows were stitched together, the masks each
forming several distinct Shadows, they're-! They're!
A horde of pixies. As the violence begins, it's not too long before-
"Hey whoa! We surrender!"
"Do you feel big, bullying poor helpless little girls?"
Poor helpless little girls with access to Zio, that is.
"Why don't you just let us go, 'kay? We pretend this didn't even happen."
Hey wait a second, they attacked you! Should you really let them off that
easy? Maybe you want information, or a reward-
But you're gonna have to negotiate for that.

Money doesn't grow on trees, it's true. "You can probably just replace the screen yourself, you know. Depending on the model, at least."
Kasumi might have two senpais upset at her, at this rate. Kazua just scoffs, though. "Whatever. Just keep your name out of the paper." She studies Belle for a long moment. "... And just... leave me out of whatever it is you might be up to with them. At least you didn't charge into that place alone."
"Human cognition... and the Atelier was a reflection of me..." Kazusa mutters. She thinks on it a moment... no, it doesn't make sense to her yet.
+As she wings by she snatches Belle's hand and swings her with her, tossing her forward before dismounting from the swing herself. With a graceful motion she wheels in the whip to coil it at her side. "... don't worry about it. Just be more careful next time."
She stalks off, but does stop to look back. "... you okay? You'd better not hold us back."
But soon enough, they're attacked by a Shadow, and one that reveals itself to be a horde of... Pixies! Pixies with Zio.
"Yeagh!" Kazusa shouts as she hops back out of the way of a lightning bolt. "Humph. If you think I'm going to take that lying down..." She holds out her hand, and a shimmering blue butterfly appears on her hand. Kazusa brings the hand to her face, closes her eyes and bows her head in thanks to the butterfly, and with a gesture of her hand sets it into flight...
An with a snap of her whip she smashes it into an array of sparkles. "Mina!" The sparkles rush to form Mina Harker behind her, in her half-human, half-vampire depiction.
And by chance, she has a spell that's a weakness of theirs. "Grapsing Eiha!" she shouts, and as Mina rqaises her corrupted, ashen hand, a claw of darkness fires out to grab at a number of them and attempt to hold them in place.
A SHORT WHILE LATER
Kazusa pants as she dismisses her Persona, coiling her whip at her side.
The pixies all start shouting as soon as they're down.
"Hey whoa! We surrender!"
"Do you feel big, bullying poor helpless little girls?"
"Why don't you just let us go, 'kay? We pretend this didn't even happen."
Kazusa stands up straighter--and while she doesn't get any tller, it's more of a presence thing. Looking down at her nose, her tone is cold. "You're the one that attacked us. And in case you didn't notice, we're girls too, so don't try playing that 'helpless girl' card with us."
She crosses her arms. "I hope you're ready to compensate us for our time." She glances over her shoulder. "Belle, what should we ask them for?"
It might be strange to see Kazusa just fully leaning into her mean, demanding Demon Queen self after trying to be... less of an active pain, at least.
And for once it's not even directed at her. So that's a bonus, right?

Replace the screen yourself?! You can do that?! It's certaintly news to Kasumi, but... Well, she sort of doubts she could do anything with it.
"I'll certainly try my best." Kasumi replies. But, jeez... If she ends up joining the Phantoms... Would she just be troubling Motojima-senpai too? "...Your Atelier was actually a very nice place for most of the trip.~" The dragon and rampaging beast at the end were pretty scary...
They arrive safely, and Kasumi is chided. She scratches the back of her head, a little sheepish. "Yes, Senpai. Sorry..." Some emotion wells up inside, but it's difficult to pin down what exactly what is. Still, she follows.
They're set upon a horde of Pixies. (Thankfully, Kasumi is neutral to Zio!) She spins, dodging a Zio too. "You won't get me like that! Let's see, they're weak too..." She produces her Winchester. "Gun!"
A very short while later!
Maybe a little too easily... "O-oh! I'm sorry...!" Kasumi apologies to the Pixies. After a beat. "W-wait, you attacked us though! Ooohhh, you're so tricky!!" She harrumphs, and grabs her antique rifle out again, pointing it with menacing energy. She fires a warning shot, and gives Kazusa a cheeky side grin. "Give us the good stuff, if you please!"
Admittedly, Kasumi struggles to see the difference. It is a relief that it isn't pointed at her for once today at least!

Kazusa... isn't sure what to do with that information regarding her Atelier. "... was it?" Her pesonal experience of it was a bit more... strained, shall we say.
Kazusa stares at Belle as she scratches the back of her neck. "... Look, if you get injured I have healing spells, I'd just... rather save them for when they're really necessary."
"Why do you have a gun!?" blurts out Kazusa.
Kasumi demands the good stuff, but the pixies just snicker at her. "Did you hear she apologized?" one says. "I know," replies another.
A crack of Kazusa's whip gets their attention. "I'm not apologizing. Now hand over the 'good stuff.'"
They come away with some money for their troubles! Kazusa moves on, but she's looking at it incredulously. "... there's no way we can spend this, right...?" She glances at Belle. "... can we actually spend this?"
Look she'll probably never call Kasumi her supernatural senpai, but she will at least at least ask her questions.

This floor is dark. For some reason the darkness makes the resonance here
hard to sense, even for a navigator.
You turn the corner and you see a shape in the dark, a Shadow dissolves from
a many masked behemoth into a Leonine creature with a vaguely ape-like face,
and a serpentine tail.
"Hey! You look like the type of person who just tromps around here thinking
they own the place! You probably don't even care about us! I'll let you go -
but only if you prove it!"
It holds up its hands, and an outline appears, showing a shadowy outline.

"Who is this!? Tell me! If you get wrong, then I'LL BE MAD!"
Oh no. There are very few clues to figure this one out.
Of course maybe the quiz is all meant to assess whether you care about him
and things like him, maybe if you see things from his perspective and show
you care, either through working out the problem to his satisfaction, or
understanding his point of view, he'll let you go.

"It was nice." Kasumi says with a nod. "It was sort of like we were back in Akihabara.~" If she could make a more accurate comparison, she would! But she's really, really behind on her otaku knowledge.
"I'll try not to, Senpai. I have a healing spell of my own though!" Although, she is more built for combat.
Kasumi really has to bite down on her lower lip to keep her from blurting out 'IT'S A MODEL GUN!' "I'll explain later!"
Kasumi blushes pretty hard as the Pixies talk shit about her to her face... At least Motojima-senpai saves her even a little bit. They drop the money and scram and...
"Yeah. You can spend it." She confirms, lifting her gun above her head, patting the barrel. "I got this antique rifle with some cash I got back in the summer."
Kasumi pauses. "Oh! This is also a model gun! Look!" She shows off the side, and Kazusa can see a flower printed on the side along with some vines. "It's cute, isn't it?~ We source them from a pretty seedy model gun shop in Shibuya... But because they look real, the Shadows assume they're real, allowing them to work in the Metaverse!"
They continue along, reaching a dark floor. "Jeez! I can barely see five feet ahead of me!" She ends up using some Bless spells to light their way. Eventually, they meet a Nue. "Awhhh! So cute~!" She's a sucker for anything cute, it seems. She also hopes that this one is much kinder.
And it is! Mostly! It asks who this creature is and Kasumi leaps right to "Oh! It's a slime, isn't it?"

"Hmph. Well, I do have my studio there, I suppose..." Kazusa allows.
"... Good. Still, both of us should be careful in this palce." She's got some attack options, but... she's not full combat, either.
The problem with having a model gun that looks real enough to work in a cognitive space is that, well, it looks real. "... You know what, maybe i'm better off not knowing."
But they can spend it. "I see." Kazusa quickly counts it out and hands Belle half. "Here."
"A model..." Kazusa frowns, s she looks it over. "... I suppose," she says of it being cute. And then she frowns. "Does that work for other things...?" She won't ask who 'we' is. She's pretty sure she doesn't want to know.
But it gets dark, and Kazusa lends her own Kouha spells to lighting the way. But when confronted by the Nue she frowns a little. She doesn't know what that is. But if it wants to be noticed...
Kazusa starts to circle the Shadow. "Well, you hae a pretty distinctive silhouette," she starts. She might not understand Shadows, but she understands appearances. "And those scales on your... tail?" It has a snake head on it. She's not sure which term is approprirate. "Are a striking color. With some buffing they could really shine and contrast with your coat."

It's why she usually keeps her model gun, you know. At home! "Don't worry Senpai, it's not as lethal as a real gun in the Metaverse." She replies, thinking that's what Kazusa is worried about.
"Thank you!" Kasumi does however, accept the cash. Maybe she could afford that phone screen now? (She won't, if even if she could.)
The Nue makes a loud "Bah!" At Kazusa's ramblings. "Not me! Shadow! Shadow!" The creature eyes Belle instead, and deems her answer at least...satisfactory. "Good enough! I'm happy!"
Kasumi has to mask a giggle, covering her hand. "Sorry, Senpai. It seems like it didn't appreacite it's appearence getting commented on. We still have a bit further to go, at least."

These Nekomata gave you some trouble, but they're on the ropes now. That's
when-
"Wait! W-Wait let's talk! You want some treasure right? Well, I know where
to find proper lockpicks."
She's standing up straighter now, "Just agree to let me go, and I'll tell
you where to find them."
The way her eyes are darting around, it's clear she's looking for an opening
to escape, or catch you off guard and redouble her assault
But maybe there's a way to play this. Maybe you can get the lockpicks and
the treasure.

Kazusa huffs a little as the Shadow rebukes her critiqu. "Hmph." Her cheeks might be just a bit flushed, and her tail is curling up by her leg. "Some people have no taste, I swear."

They get into a fight with a Nekomata, and it begins to beg to be spared, but Kazusa's eyes narrow as she watches the Shadow.
And she grabs her whip in both hands so she can snap it intimidatingly. "As if we'd fall for such an obvious ploy. Tell us where it is first, and then we'll let you go. Otherwise yhou're just wasting our time."

This time, Kasumi plays Good Cop. She brings her gun back up. "You can stop looking, we're not that bloodthirsty. If you try to run, though..." She cocks her gun. "Act slowly now.~"

But Kasumi's got a gun trained on her, and that makes her stop. "Look, I'll give you whatever you want, just... tell your crazy friend to cool it!"
So in the end, they get the lockpicks and the items.
And Kzusa just scowls. "I had spells, you know!" she complains later. "My whip has reach!" She scowls as they press onwards.

What were twisted tunnels, are now suddenly one long, straight section of
track. You can see the station ahead already.
One problem is the numerous swarm of Shadows, each radiating power ahead.
The first one you encounter collapses into a towering Shikigami made of
animated paper.

As does the second. Each one is a difficult fight on their own, fully
repelling physical attacks!
There's at least six more on the way! Do you go through the slog of fighting
them all one by one
or do you charge on ahead to the end in the hopes of making it before all
of them catch up to you.

They get the items! They're doing a fairly nice job of things, at the very least. Kasumi does giggle a little, after the fact. "You do.~ But the noise of cocking a gun just has a certain... threat to it, you know?"
They stumble into a layer of Shikigami... "Oh no! They're immune to physical!" Kasumi reports. She casts a Kouha...that's nulled too! "Um... Senpai...! This is going to be..."
Kazusa only has Bless and Curse attacks too, right? Then there's only one answer. "Three of a kind. Two pairs..." Belle sees the opening. "Ace! Go!" She sheathes her rapier and charges through. No point in trying to fight their way out, time to just leave!

"If you say so." Kazusa says, trying to be dismissive of Belle's superior threat capacity. But the tail wag gives it away that she's maybe very slightly impressed.
A shattered butterfly calls out Mina Harker, and Kazusa tries Grasping Eiga again-- "Curse didn't have any affect either?"
Three of a kind, two pair... Kazusa looks at Belle in confusion. "... What are you...? Ace.
And Kasumi takes off running. Kazusa sputters. "What the-- A little warning would be nice! Mina! Masukukaja! Masukukunda!"
Mina raises both hands, and with one energy drains from the Shikigami around them, to slow their motions, and with the other energy flows into Belle and Kazusa, to make them lighter and faster on their feet.
And then Kazusa takes off running, too, using her gymnastics training to avoid attacks, along with her whip to grapple and pull herself forward past threats.

"That was the warning!" Kasumi replies as she ninja runs her way through. Despite the griping, (and thanks to Mina's buff and debuff), they make it through the gauntlet with some fancy foot work, and skate by unharmed.
They make it to the end of the floor at least. They discover some stamps... That Kasumi is completely confused about. "Huh! I don't know what these stamps do..." She hasn't met the cutest addition to Persona 5 Royal yet.
Still! This is cause to celebrate. Belle dusts her hands off, and beams. "This was pretty exhausting, but... Thanks for coming with me, Senpai. This was a good training session."

"Nobody counts in cards, Belle!" Kazusa shouts back as she swings in between two shadows. "Not unless you're a weirdo!"
Look, she's trying to be nicer, but this is definitely a stressful situation.
Kazusa looks at the tarot cards, frowning in thought. "Tarot cards... why did someone leave these here...?" Or... why are they part of the collective unconsciousness? She's not sure what the right question to ask is.
""A good training session... tch." Kazusa brushes some hair behind her shoulder. "... I suppose it was a decent change of pace..." she allows. She turns to head for the exit. "Just don't let this impact impact your club activities."
But she does pause, before they exit. "... I'm going and getting a bubble tea. Come along if you want, or whatever."

"I told you, Senpai! I'm not apart of The Phantoms! This was just..." She pauses, as she misinterprets what Kazusa meant. Her mind is stuck on whether she should join or not. What was it? "A trial run, I guess...?" Should she join? Should she not? She's still not sure.
A bubble tea? That grabs Kasumi's attention! She jogs back up to Kazusa's side. "That sounds good to me, Senpai.~"
