Sunday... It's a day for spending time with the family, they say; no school, often people are off work, and everyone has a little more time before the week begins in earnest. That's how it's supposed to be, but...

This morning, Kanae decided to go out! Rather than stick around her small, empty apartment, she got dressed and went to the streets. Dressed in green today, Kanae is in a short skirt, tights, and boots, along with a nice top and a sweater. It's not too cold today, but being outside a lot will make up for that pretty quickly.

She's by a chocolate shop that she just shopped at a little while ago, looking out over the river from a railing. Kanae has the bag in her left hand, and her right hand on said railing.l

There's a sort of wistful expression on her face as she looks out over the area, a familiar different language in her ears.

Her long, black hair flutters in the faint breeze.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

It's time to spend with the family, but unfortunately, Yua's family has a lot of demands on them. That's why she's taken Tyrrha out on a trip this morning -- to go get chocolate!

"I still can't believe it!" She says, except she's speaking French because they're in Kagurazaka, so it comes out more like, "je n'en reviens pas!"; despite her accent, she's quite a decent speaker. "You can really pick up another language just like that...?"

"It's easy when you're like me, mama," Tyrrha, a bronzed girl with an eminently grouchy face and an easy tone replies -- also in French. "Just gotta load it up... just like Japanese!"

"Remember," Yua smiles, to her, "that's a secret, okay?"

"Sure, sure," Tyrrha grins, easily. "So where are we going, anyway?"

"Morita-san is one of the best chocolatiers in Tokyo," Yua assures her, smiling. "Mimi got me some lovely truffles from here a little while back... so we're going to surprise her with something, this time!"

"Huh," Tyrrha says. "He's popular, huh?"

"He is," Yua replies, still smiling.

"Even with girls?" The girl asks, as she points -- directly at Kanae! Well, at Kanae's branded bag... which she can apparently read from all the way across the street.

"Even with girls," Yua giggles, her scarf fluttering in the breeze. (She's wearing a long-sleeved blouse, today, and her skirt's just as long; no jacket, but perhaps even the ballerina who teaches dance has to cover up for Winter eventually.) "Actually, that's a student of mine... shall we go and say hello?"

"Sounds good!" Tyrrha chirps, as she bounces on her loafers -- she's in a white sailor's dress, ambling up to Kanae. Still in French, she greets her with a cheerful, "Salut!"

"Ah, Tykko, you need to introduce yourself a little better when it's someone you've never met! And remember to speak Japanese--!!" Yua calls after her, as she bustles over, too. Perhaps she can't be blamed for being a little slower; that is a maternity blouse, at this point.

"Right, right... yo, mama's teachin' ya?" Tyrrha says, as she looks back to Yua, abashed. "Nice t' meetcha. Name's Tyrrha! Just moved here from the country!"

"Ah," Yua huffs, a touch, as she catches up, "good morning, Fuyuki-kun. This is Tyrrha... I'll be taking care of her from now on, so do excuse me for taking a little time off to orient her."

(Yua has, after all, not run her class for weeks now...)

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

Kanae is not paying attention to murmurings from across the street. She is busy brooding with a bag full of really nice chocolate. The chocolatier is very popular! Kanae's been coming here for a while...

Kanae wouldn't have noticed either of them if Tyrrha hadn't just walked up to her and greeted her. And Kanae turns, blinking in surprise once, her dark eyes on Tyrrha and then--

"Bonjour," Kanae answers in return, likewise in French, and then the narrative just switches to French entirely, "It's not a problem. I speak French. ...I'm a little surprised she does, though."

She bows slightly. "Ijuuin-sensei. It's been a while." Then she looks to Tyrrha. "From the country, mm?"

She thinks about that for a moment. ...Then, "Yes, she's teaching me dance. ...I moved out from the country back in my first year, too."

She considers, looking between the two. She feels an immediate pang of jealousy.

"That's so?" she asks, switching back to Japanese. "Um, congratulations."

She noticed Yua was out, but... Didn't imagine this.

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

"Oh!" Yua exclaims, hearing Kanae's French being good. "That would certainly explain why you've never struggled with terminology..." Because, of course, most of the terms in ballet are French. "Well done!"

(The students of Shujin are much more teachable with regards to the basics of contemporary ballet than Kasugayama, for some reason...)

"I pick up languages real easy," Tyrrha flashes a 'V' for 'Victory'. "Take it easy, and anything's possible! Nankuru nai sa!" That's not Japanese or French; it's Okinawan, assuring her that everything will work out in the end. Luckily, she's back to Japanese as she goes on: "So you're country too, huh? Neat! We're from Okinawa, how 'bout you? Say, isn't it weird how everyone drives out here? I keep thinking it must be such a big burden to have this giant machine and stop in front of people at those crossings and not plow straight through them all... maybe seeing people as weaker than machines is why everyone's so disconnected out here? Being that much stronger totally does make you look at them and..."

"Ahh-ha-ha-ha," Yua laughs, a touch nervously, placing a hand at Tyrrha's shoulder. "Remember what we said about talking to strangers? Fuyuki-kun doesn't know what happened... let's not frighten her, okay?"

"But you said thoughts can't hurt no one," Tyrrha says, tilting her head.

"Ah... that's true, but..." Yua bites at her lip, and, for a moment, looks a touch lost.

(In that moment, it is clear -- for a moment -- how hollow her gaze has become, since the last lesson.)

"Nankuru nai sa," Tyrrha assures her, with a grin that's all teeth. "Trust your students more, mama! You get it, right?" She asks, turning that strange red gaze onto Kanae.

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

"..." Kanae notices that Yua has internalized her good French. She hesitates for a moment before she reveals, "My mother was French." It's slightly uncomfortable to say, but it may make a few things more obvious; Kanae doesn't look full Japanese, after all.

Kanae likes the ballet terminology, though of course she didn't start young. Who learns ballet in Inaba?

Well, maybe someone.

Tyrrha mentions it, and, "Hm. Is that what that means?" Kanae wonders. "Well, that's cool. I only have the three..." But Okinawa. "Oh."

She is overwhelmed a little by the sudden weird tangent, but Kanae knows how to move on from something pretty well. "...Yes," she answers after a moment, "It's kinda weird. I don't drive or anything, myself." Pause. "I grew up out in Inaba. It's a little mining town a while away."

Thoughts can't hurt anybody... And she 'doesn't know what happened'. "Ah," Kanae answers. Now she gets it.

She doesn't get what's up with Yua, though; it's a little startling, to see that hollow look in her gaze.

"...Yes," Kanae says after a moment, nodding to Tyrrha. "It's fine," she says, having composed herself again. "..."

She considers. "Machines are a lot stronger than people," Kanae reflects. "They don't have to 'try' to hurt people--it just happens, because when two things come together... they react. And people are soft."

Pause. "I mean, it's fine; I'm not upset."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

"Ah... pardon me, but was she perhaps French Maghrebi?" Yua wonders, and in wondering, reveals that her knowledge of France isn't just linguistic: knowing the history of French colonialism enough to take a shot in the dark suggests she has deeper reasons than ballet to be familiar. "It's all right," she assures her, in her next breath, her smile a touch rueful. "I've... done my own share of glossing over things, in my time."

Yua makes sure to add, though: "Speaking three languages is very impressive, Fuyuki-kun. It's worth keeping up!"

And the woman smiles, hearing Kanae mention Inaba. "My grandfather came from Inaba, I'm told," she shares -- perhaps because she's caught her out of class, because she's normally not so forthcoming about her life. But right now, she's not a teacher, huh? She's just a mom. "So we have something in common, how about that...?"

Tyrrha snaps her fingers, turning to Yua. "OOOOOOHHHHHH," she says, as if Yua just revealed the movement of the stars and the moon. "So that's why it wasn't a perfect match!"

"She means that I'm partly Japanese," Yua explains, for Kanae, kindly.

(Which means she doesn't primarily identify that way. ... her family are pretty hard-liners on that point, though. There's a lot of Okinawans who would describe themselves as both Japanese and Okinawan without any need for mainlanders in their family...)

"People are so soft," Tyrrha exclaims, throwing up her hands. "Like Yumama here! She's super delicate! I can't even grip her too hard or she goes 'yowch' and she's gonzo, just like any human!"

"Ah..." Yua lies as easily as she breathes, running damage control, as concern comes into her eye. "It's all right, Tykko," she assures her, a hand on her shoulder. "I won't gone-zo any place." Well... she tried to understand the slang.

She shakes her head, looking up to Kanae. "There was... an accident, so... Tykko survived, but her parents -- ah, her birth parents -- they didn't make it. It means she's a little preoccupied with disturbing things, but she means no harm by it. She just has a lot to adjust to all at once..."

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

Kanae blinks in surprise as Yua reveals greater knowledge than most. "Ah, yes," Kanae says, slightly hesitantly as if she worries it might be used against her. "Her name was Raniya. ...My grandparents were from Algeria, on her side." She pauses. "So you have, huh...?"

She has noticed, at least, Yua's color; not the traditionally desirable pale. Kanae isn't that either.

"Thanks. I try, anyway. I don't get to speak Arabic with that many people..."

It does make her more comfortable, though, talking about it. At first it's an issue, but now that Yua mentions her grandfather, Kanae nods. "I have family there," she explains. "I guess... we do."

Yua would probably know; Kanae is in Ms. Chouno's homeroom, and takes a lot of mentoring from her. But Kanae doesn't know about this 'match' business.

"?" she asks wordlessly. Then Yua explains. "Oh," she says. Not... primarily Japanese, then. That makes sense... "Okinawan, right?" she asks, confirming because Tyrrha said it of herself.

But Ryrrha talks about people being soft. Kanae feels a little bad for her, if the trauma made her talk like that. But Yua... doesn't quite get the slang. It's fine. "Right," Kanae says. "People are fragile."

But Yua explains about the accident, which is increasingly clear to Kanae, anyway. "...That's fine," Kanae says, her expression softening. "I don't mind."

She looks down, and then back out over the river for a moment. "...For me, it was a plane crash. So..."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

"Algeria!" Yua chirps, smiling, and her warm reception isn't feigned. "That's wonderful. I've never been to Algiers, but I've heard it's beautiful in Spring. And I love couscous! It's not just tasty, it's fun to say, too!" did -- did her portrait just SPARKLE, "I understand how your situation might be complicated... but there's a lot to be proud of, right?"

... Yua may well have been sitting on her knowledge of French colonialism since she was a teenager, just waiting for someone else carrying that weight. Never say solidarity is useless! Besides, for all that time, it gave her more things to talk about with Remi!

"I'm afraid the only Arabic I know how to say is, eto... 'sa lam a lay kum'?" She sounds it out much slower than it ought to be said, but it is at least technically correct. "It's Islamic, I think...? They said it was a greeting... if someone was scared, I could tell them that, and they'd be reassured." 'Peace be upon you', of course, is one of the most internationally recognised Arabic phrases, thanks to its wide use in Islam; apparently, Yua's the sort of person who's concerned for travellers who might not speak Japanese at all.

Or she just soaks up phrases. If both she and Tyrrha are multilingual, she might also just... soak up phrases.

Yua does, indeed, know which homeroom Kanae is in. Yua makes it her business to know about all her students who are known Persona Users...

    Anyway!

"That's right," Yua smiles, to Kanae. "I'm Okinawan! My maiden name is 'Ooshiro'... it means 'great castle'! I'm going to turn it into a first name for my son -- if it's like that, it's said like 'Hiroki!' Tyrrha was an Ooshiro too, though she lived on another island... of course, she's an Ijuuin, now that we've adopted her."

"They're, like, totally modern-day samurai?" Tyrrha adds, folding her arms behind her head. "They've got a head of the clan and everything! He's supes intimidating! I bet these are the kinds of guys who insist you shove a knife in your throat if you upend their business!"

"T--Tykko!" Yua gasps, taken aback by her blithe honesty. "Father isn't going to make you do something extreme like that!"

"Yeah, but you --" Tyrrha starts, only for Yua to firmly cross her hands in front of her in the sign of an 'X'.

It's the ballet mime for 'no'! She's serious...!

"Let's not spread fanciful tales!" She insists, firmly, despite -- because of? -- her theatrics. As Tyrrha tilts her head amicably, Yua's expression softens, her tone gentling. "I know Father is a stern man, but he does like you, I promise."

"If you say so," Tyrrha says, elbows wagging as her shoulders shrug. "But man, it really makes me think 'bout it... it really doesn't take that much pressure, right...? Yeah, that's the word," she adds, nodding to Kanae. "Fragile. It's so weird. Like, how do people just go about their day knowing they're just held together by skin and if you take it off all the bits fall out? I mean, I know I can't do that to people, like, I can't even do it to animals in the city, apparently... but even if no one does anything, sometimes people just... break? And you guys are just, okay with that?"

Yua, behind Tyrrha, is more intent on watching Kanae for the moment. A plane crash? As one of those known Persona Users, Kanae of course has a file, but it's a little thinner than some others -- less because learning is difficult and more because no one has had reason to try.

Unfortunately, there's a little more she can add to it, now. Each new detail is a new opportunity to make her a target, as much as Yua would prefer to avoid it...

Her preoccupation has a terrible side effect: Tyrrha's still talking. "Wow, but -- entire planes crash? Like, out of the air? How'd you survive that? I'm pretty sure humans as a whole, like, class of species can't like, fly. You must be so tough!"

God bless her, she is at least the bare minimum restrained not to blurt out a request to fight her while she's in her civvies, but she has a NEW GOAL IN LIFE.

Yua would prefer to avoid it, but Tyrrha's here for a good time, man.

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

"I've never been either," Kanae answers quietly. "Or at least, I don't remember going." But a lot to be proud of...

"Most people don't think of it like that," she admits. "But I try to learn a little about it..."

Kanae hears it said, if slowly, and then offers, "Wa'alaikum." Or 'And upon you'. Hers of course is faster, but not that fast in context. Pause. "Do you talk to a lot of foreigners?" she wonders. She could've said 'travelers', but Kanae was raised in Japan, and the difference was impressed upon her strongly.

Kanae, of course, has no idea that Yua is likewise a Persona-user, let alone Tyrrha. But--

"Oh..." She'll name her son that way? "I see. So you're sort of keeping your name that way."

She is a little disquiet at that; would she be able to keep anything of 'Fuyuki'? ...Does she want to?

But it's easy enough to focus on the matter of samurai people. She blinks. "Wow," she can't help but say. "That's intense."

She considers for a moment, about fancifil tales. A stern man... "I get it, a little. Touma-kun's dad can be a little intimidating, too. You have to be a little stern to keep a big family together, I guess."

Tyrrha is talking, and Kanae is so focused on her that she doesn't notice Yua watching her for the moment.

'Fragile', though. Tyrrha's pretty morbid, Kanae reflects. "Not really," Kanae says of being 'okay' with it. "But what can you do?"

Pause. Entire planes... Kanae looks a little uncomfortable at that.

"They do," Kanae says. "And I don't know how I did. I guess I got lucky. That's kind of what it is, isn't it?"

"When it comes down to it... Some people are lucky, and some people aren't. That's just how the world is."

"...Sorry, I shouldn't say such things. I think the answer is that people are too busy living their lives to think about how fragile they are, mostly."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

"Mm... there are people who will try to bury it," Yua says, and the delicateness with which she navigates just who would want to is something Kanae can surely sight at a glance. "I know it can't always be helped... but you're still young," she insists, smiling to her. "Try to keep some pride for yourself, so you at least recognise when you need to swallow it. There's more to you than Japan... and there's more to you than France, too, right?"

Her smile brightens, hearing Kanae respond in kind. "That's it! That's the response! I couldn't think of it off the top of my head... you'd be really good at welcoming someone here, Fuyuki-kun!" She's still so earnest! Teachers aren't supposed to be earnest! "And, well... Okinawa isn't like the mainland. Grandmother used to tell me stories of how we'd send our young, strong men out into the world, even before the second World War... they'd say 'go and get money. Send it first, and write to us later.'"

"Mokitikujo," Tyrrha interjects, her grim face fitting her speech for once. "Jingasachido, tegemiatodo." It's not Japanese, despite a similar shape to the words.

"Most of us, we went to places like Hawaii, Bolivia, Argentina... but immigrating to find success somewhere else, it's very familiar to us out in Okinawa. If we had any pressure to stay where we were born... what hope remained after our annexation was broken in the Iron Storm, when the yamatwu sacrificed us after drawing the American's anger." Yua's tone grows darker, as she recalls -- until she realises that her hands have clasped to fists, beside her.

"Oh," she smiles, deliberately taking a breath, relaxing -- "but it's all right, Fuyuki-kun. Those things were a long time ago," her grandmother remembers it as it happened, "and Okinawa's doing much better now." Unemployment's still remarkably high, compared to the rest of Japan, let alone the impacts of domestic abuse and divorce after the scars they're carrying. Luckily, their strong matriarchal spirit is a layer of protection for women; it's notable, in Japan, that women feel they can leave their husbands if they've a violent home. Yua knows it, and Tyrrha knows it... and Yua's not about to burden this child with it.

Her husband wouldn't approve, anyway... and she's been alienated from the support which her island neighbours draw on.

Yua smiles, though, thinking of her maiden name. "My mother's family is very important to me. I've taken on the rites and customs of the mainland, but it's not our way to sever a woman from her family when she marries into another. So... I've become an Ijuuin, but I still want to honour my mother's ancestors."

    Maybe they're all intense.

Tyrrha leans on the railing separating her from the river, elbows resting on the barrier, as a foot kicks. "Who's Touma-kun?" She wonders, with curiosity. "It's weird how you see it, too... maybe it's just normal in the city?"

She listens to Kanae, though, humming thoughtfully. "Kari-chikiyun!" She concludes, with a too-toothy grin. "With that invocation, you call up good luck... kari! People love to bring in luck when it's a celebration. I wonder if that's why? Kariyushi's luck, but it's joy, too... maybe people need to gather it so they'll be okay when something bad happens. Haa, how many celebrations did I miss...? That feels delinquent... I should be there, right?"

Yua smiles, shaking her head. "You had a good reason to miss them," she assures her, "and you're definitely not a delinquent, Tykko."

It's a reasonable mistake to make, slipping an 'a' in there.

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

Kanae sure does sight it. It almost makes her want to open up about this particular issue to Yua--almost. She is still an authority figure, after all. Since 'pride', well... She thinks of Isabeau, when she thinks of pride like that. And she knows exactly where it would land her.

"Of course, sensei," she says ihstead of sharing that particular worry. Though she hesitates after a moment. More to her than Japan... and more to her than France. "..."

"Yes," Kanae says. "I'll remember."

Welcoming someone? "I don't know about that," Kanae self-effaces by habit. But she is very earnest. And then, the talk of Okinawa and what they'd do... Get money. Send it to them.

Kanae tilts her head at Tyrrha's explanation. That must be the words for what Yua just explained.

"...From what I heard," Kanae says, "Mom had problems, in France. She was hoping to get away from them here, with Dad. Or at least to have different problems, I guess."

Kanae notices the passion with which Yua speaks of it, though. The idea of having that much connection to her history...

"I've never met Mom's parents," Kanae admits. "I don't know how they feel."

Kanae wonders if Okinawa really is doing better. Sometimes, people just say things like that.

Kanae doesn't smile when Yua does. "I see..."

Honoring her mother's ancestors? "I've done some reading about stuff like that," Kanae ventures, uncertain.

Touma is easier to talk about. "He's my boyfriend," Kanae explains. "Touma Okazaki. I see his family a lot, too. ...We've been together since first year." Which makes her with him for more than three fourths of the way to two years, now. An eternity for a high schooler. "He's relaly thoughtful, and smart. ...And he always stands up for me. He's a good guy." Pause. "I don't think it's normal," Kanae says. "I just... see things like that."

Kari-chikiyun. "Gatheirng up joy?" she wonders. "I think that's a nice idea. I suppose the idea is that you have it when you need it, you can store it up..."

But how do people keep it from 'going bad' like other things you might try to store?

Kanae caught the lack of an 'a'. But she doesn't correct Yua, of course. "...Well," she says, "If you have any questions about life in the city, maybe my experience might have some value to you," Kanae says, mostly politely, to Tyrrha. "The big thing is that everybody's in a hurry..."

<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.

Yua doesn't have such a good view of Isabeau; she's repeatedly refused to entertain dance class, and, well --

THE STREETS OF SUMARU -- MAY, 2012

"We're going to position you as a dance teacher," says a man in a dark suit, sitting beside Yua in his dark car. "We have four campuses we'd like to target... we decided it would be inefficient to have you cover Saint Heimlin's, so you'll be focused around Tokyo. You'll identify students who have missed school, and compel them to attend classes; it's up to you to identify likely targets."

Yua turns her face down, fingers folding together in her lap as she tries to keep the rest of herself still and pleasant. "Um," she starts, and on seeing his attention flick to her from the corner of her eye, she advances: "... may I raise a concern?"

Of course, she isn't looking at him. She wouldn't dare challenge a man of the Order, even though Rokuro Nishiyama's greatest crimes are all still ahead of him.

    "Go on," he says.

"I... I think I'll be much less effective if I force them to attend... you know?" Yua asks, a touch tense, afraid to speak against him. "If I'm making them, they'll think I'm cruel... they won't trust me like they could. If -- if it's voluntary -- it's more like I'm trying to help them?"

"Hm," the man grunts, as he looks over her. "... all right. This is your primary assignment, so we're willing to let you decide how to approach it..."

"Thank you," Yua says, quietly --

"... up to a point," he finishes, stern.

But of course, it's always been that way.

    AND NOW --

Their ability to choose was one of those things Yua actually advocated for.

... not that she could ever tell Kanae that, without shattering the illusion.

Yua's got her own reasons for valuing pride, though. (... and Pride, though Dyke Weekend is all the way in March.) She is, at least, satisfied to hear that Kanae will remember her roots, with a supportive smile to her.

"Ah... I can imagine how some of that might have been..." Yua sighs, shaking her head. "Though... of course, I can't really know. But..." She pauses, pressing a hand to her cheek, with a thoughtful noise. "The injuries our grandmothers felt are still felt by us, even if we've never met them. Indeed... I think disconnection is its own injury. It is more difficult to quantify than stories of indecency or language tags," focused on Kanae, Yua doesn't quite notice the scowl deepening on Tyrrha's face, "but it is an insidious poison. Ah... but I don't mean to be cruel to say such a thing," Yua sighs, with a rueful expression. "Only... I wonder if anyone has thought to say it."

She nods, approvingly, when Kanae says she's been doing reading. "That's great," she assures her, gently. "You've always been very clever in class... I'm sure you've done a lot to figure things out on your own, even if you haven't had as much help as you deserve. I'm glad to hear that you have a supportive boyfriend, though," she adds, smiling to her. "That's almost two years... wow! It's great that you have someone you can rely on." Even if it's a red flag for all her support to be coming from her boyfriend's family, Yua's not really sure whether she could pick it out when Kanae's covered with the blood of all the hits she's taken. It's certainly better than not having anyone!

And as much as Yua is inclined to mom at Kanae seeing the similarities between them, Yua is not, really, a suitable mother figure.

... rather, it's far too dangerous for her to scoop up an uninvolved girl and get her involved.

"Yeah!" Tyrrha adds, cheerfully. "He sounds neat. Hey, come to think of it... I have a boyfriend, too!"

"Er," Yua lifts a hand, cautious. "Tykko, you don't mean 'a friend who's a boy,' do you...?"

"Well, yeah," Tyrrha says, a foot tapping as she leans on the railing. "Why, what do you mean?"

"When you say it as one word, it's only talking about romantic relationships," Yua advises her. "Unless you catch an old obaa talking about her girlfriends... she's likely just talking about normal friends who are girls!"

(Wait, doesn't something in there... imply that women who aren't 90 might be referring to romantic girlfriends...?)

"Huh," Tyrrha says. "Well, okay. Then I guess he isn't my boyfriend, since he's hella gei." Gay, that is.

"Tykko, you can't just say that about someone!" Yua gasps, fingers veiling her lips.

"Achaa..." Tyrrha sighs, shrugging without lifting her arms. "I should have bottled my luck, huh...? Hey, hey, I wonder if that's what that Greek girl stumbled into when she let all the sin out of her bottle... eeeh, but she left hope at the bottom, not luck, so I guess it doesn't matter to me at all!" She grins, as she pushes off the railing, spinning around to face Kanae again. "But if you're offering--! I have so many questions!"

    The monkey's paw curls...

Kanae earned a Hierophant Social Link!

But Kanae had to spend two hours answering the most bizarre, obvious, and sometimes unsettling questions known to man.

<Pose Tracker> Kanae Fuyuki has posed.

Kanae would of course have no need of Pride (, though pride might do something for her.

Yua can imagine, though. Without knowing. But the injuries felt...? "..." Disconnection as its own injury. Kanae notices the scowl on Tyrrha's face, but the words have a way of landig with her, too. "Maybe that's true," she says. "...Mom would've told me more about it, maybe."

But she didn't get the chance.

Help that she deserves? Kanae isn't sure it's a matter of deserving. But, "I go online, and all that. To keep my language skills up."

Pause. A supportive boyfriend. That's right. His family is basically her family, or will be... So why does that feel kind of bad?

But Tyrrha thinks he sounds neat. "He is," Kanae starts--and then blinks. "You... just realized?"

Oh. It's like that. Of course, Yua, being a pregnant married woman, wouldn't know about the other kind of girlfriends, obviously. Not that Kanae would ever talk about that in the first place. But--

She suppresses a laugh. Hella gei. It might be the most cheerful Kanae's seemed all day. But it doesn't last too long.

"Pandora?" Kanae wonders. "Hmm."

Lots of questions!!!

...Well, it's fine. She didn't have something better to do...

And Henry did say to look for allies...
