- Summary: Yua and Miho get back from Hawaii and have a nice family dinner with Tyrrha. It's totally normal. They have a totally normal dinner conversation about the lifespan of ninjas, the realities of table-flipping, and the ethics of glitter bombs. Also, they might have painted a target on SEES's back...? Someone's got to make sure those kids are tough enough to labour under Kirijo...

On Wednesday, Miho was busy getting ready to travel to Hawaii, and Tyrrha was still powering up when she left... sure, Yua was able to take care of Tyrrha until Miho got everything ready and came to collect her, but man, there was no time for her to tell them all her SUPER COOL INTEL!
Then they LEFT HER with instructions to GET HER SCHOOL THINGS READY and went to fight people WITHOUT HER! Talk about 'mouuuuuuuuuuuu'!!
But now, finally, after a day vacationing in Hawaii...!! They're BACK! "You guys took FOREVERRRRRRR," Tyrrha whined, when they got in the door. "And I watched that fight and no one even got STABBED! Mimama what's the point if you just hit a guy with a sword and it goes 'beep' and then they spend like three minutes even deciding if the beep counted! What the beep!!!"
"Mind your language," Yua reminds Tyrrha, smiling, as she hands over a packet from her backs. "And try this! It's yummy sakura-boshi!" Fish jerky, that is -- marinated yellowfin tuna, with a savory flavour from its sweet soy and sesame preparation.
"Wow!" Tyrrha might be easily impressed, but it's still nice to see her grin. (Well... once you get over the fact that she looks like she's about to eat you...)
The gift of FISH JERKY keeps Tyrrha occupied long enough for Yua to get dinner together -- more chicken, they eat so much mild chicken, but she at least tries to keep it a little interesting with fresh vegetables and some light spices -- so that they can sit down and eat together.
Like a family...!
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Miho walks in the door and hears of stabbings. Or rather, of the lack of stabbings. "If we injure our opponent, we have fewer matches," Miho points out. "The stakes are of sport, not of blood."
Still, Miho watches Tyrrha grinning, and... it's nice. She does not particularly take issue with toothy grins, for some reason.
Miho sits down with Tyrrha, then. "It's good, isn't it?" she says of the jerky. But then--
Mild chicken! It's still good. Miho will have some, and say, "This turned out quite well, Yua."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Okay but you gotta stab someone at some point right? Like when it's the final match? C'mooon!"
Yua, wisely, leaves Tyrrha's bloodlust to Miho to manage. She thinks Tyrrha's grin is nice, though...
And Tyrrha remembers to share her jerky when Miho underlines its tastiness.
Yua is all smiles when Miho compliments her cooking -- and her smile gets some extra sparkles and flowers when Tyrrha chips in with, "Yeah, Yumama! This is great! Almost as good as that jam I found in the cupboard!"
"The -- the jam you found?" Yua asks, blinking. "But I haven't made us any jam recently..."
"Sure ya did! Label said lime, but it was way better than lime!" Tyrrha grins, with, one hopes, the right amount of teeth.
"Er..." Yua glances over Tyrrha's head, to Miho. "The... Dragon Lime jam...? That -- that's not really..." for human consumption, but then again, Tyrrha's not a human, is she? She's a robot. Maybe robots can eat demon snacks...?
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
"No," Miho says. "There is no stabbing." She is calm on this, though firm. "Blood is a separate matter."
But tasty jerky!
And, the jam. Miho looks between the two of them and then recalls--the dragon limes. Hmmm.
"Good," Miho says. "It would be a shame for it to go to waste," she decides. "We'll have to find you some more interesting foods like that, Tyrrha-chan."
Miho seems to just be going with it.
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Moooooooooooooou," Tyrrha pouts, when Miho insists that blood's separate.
At least it's not 'maaaaaaaaaan'...
The duality of Tyrrha, though, is that when Miho offers to find her even more unique food over dinner, she's grinning from ear to awful ear. "Lucky o/`!" She must have gotten her ability to pronounce musical notes from Yua's side... "I want to eat them all! Get me somethin' good, okay?!"
Miho feels the weight of a Subquest settling over her shoulders... she must Find Unusual Food For Tyrrha!
Yua nibbles some more of her not unusual food, before she remembers... "Oh! You had something to tell us, didn't you, Tykko? We're all here now, so go ahead!"
"Oh yeah!" Tyrrha grins, again, jabbing her chopsticks. "Guess what! I followed that Youichi Makimura guy like you said, but these kids stopped me! And one of them! Was also a robot!" She flings her arms out, demonstratively; luckily, each of them is sitting on a different side of the table, so she doesn't jab anyone's eye out. (Yua's only got the one still working in normal space, Tyrrha, you've got to be careful.) "But get this, mama! She weren't a K-Series or nothin'! She said... there was more than one manufacturer! Moooou, but she had gun hands! Why don't I get gun hands?! I tried tossin' my limiters to attack her, but my systems went nuts! Oh yeah! And there was this ninja guy there too! And he said he was a clan leader, but he was, like, even younger than that Ryouhara guy?! Mama, mama, you gotta level with me," Tyrrha insists, as she grasps the table.
"Are all ninjas babies. Do they all die when they hit twenty."
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
It's fine. Miho hears the pronounced notes... "I will," Miho assures her.
Subquest... accepted.
But Tyrrha had something to tell them, and Miho sets down her hand by the table as she turns to listen. Thoughtfully, she considers. A robot...
Miho knows why Tyrrha doens't have gun hands. It's because Tyrrha would use the gun hands. But she doesn't say that. Instead, she imagines who it might've been...
"Kirijo," Miho imagines. "I looked into them a bit, when I was looking for you, Yua. ...There was much I couldn't find."
Pause. "Do not flip the table, Tyrrha-chan." She reaches out and firmly puts her own hand on the table.
"There are ninja above the age of twenty," Miho says. "But it is an occupation with a high mortality rate, I suppose."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
Miho's first task...
Is to Find An Unusual Snack Requiring Utmost Bravery!
Somehow, she knows that's what Tyrrha needs right now... is this the expression of her maternal spirit?!
It must also be her intuition regarding Tyrrha's imminent desires; luckily, Miho is strong enough to hold the table steady while Tyrrha aborts her action. "Moooouuuuuuuuuuuuuu," she pouts, "but that's what they do in ALL Yumama's cartoons!"
"Ah, Tykko, you can't just copy those cartoons..." Yua starts, with a touch of a sigh, before she reaches out to take her hand. "You've got a lot of feelings to express, don't you?"
"Soooo many!" Tyrrha pouts. "Man, I wanna be a ninja... I'd get to fight all the time!"
"But we're a samurai family," Yua reminds Tyrrha, gently. "You're really just one or the other, right...?" She shakes her head, looking over to Miho, a frown creasing her brow. "Still... you think the Kirijos were building robots, too, Mimi...? Mm... perhaps we'd learn more about Tykko if we found a little more, too..."
"So I get to fight that other robot girl again?!" Tyrrha perks up at once, gaze snapping to Yua.
"H--hold on!" Yua yelps, squeezing her hand to try and calm her down. "Let's see what Mimama thinks first, okay?"
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Miho will find that snack. It's in her quest log and everything!! Miho's maternal spirit...! It shines!
"The ones in the cartoons don't have to clean up dinner after they're done," Miho points out. "...But it is well to wish to express your feelings. We should find you better ways to do so."
A ninja... And yet--
"Correct," Miho says. "I did invite Ryouhara-san to visit... but he said he 'isn't that kind of man'. It's a pity; Tyrrha-chan could learn from him, if he came by for more than sparse moments."
Buut...
"It's possible," Miho says. "Our mutual acquaintances took much technology from Kirijo, and many scientists. We'll have to investigate to learn more, though--they were not inclined to tell me very much about it..."
"But I can think of no other company with the resources and inclination, given their crowd of youths, this 'SEES'."
Pause. "You will probably fight her again," Miho says, "But you must be careful when you do. She seems to me a worthy opponent."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Oooh! I wanna get a GLITTER BOMB!" Tyrrha decides, at once, on the heels of Miho suggesting better ways to express herself.
And Yua looks a little transfixed by that herself, for a moment, before her good sense shines through and she pats Tyrrha's hand. "Let's start with a bath bomb, okay?" She suggests, kindly.
"Okay!" Tyrrha is, at least, waterproof, though they've found in their attempts to see whether she can swim that she just kind of -- sinks to the bottom of the pool. It's unsettling. Like she's a hippo, lurking, waiting for the kill...
(Don't underestimate hippos. They're terrifying!)
"Ryouhara-kun did stop by the other day," Yua smiles, to Miho. "He helped me decorate those cupcakes I gave you two...! He and Tykko were eager to play, but... well, do you remember when she came by to ask you about sparring?"
Tyrrha just showed up at Katou Corp during Miho's lunch break, recently, to get her to define what sparring was. It was weird. Her coworkers were definitely weirded out. Miho had to call Seiji and get him to come pick her up!
"Ahaha," Yua giggles, a touch self-effacing, "I wasn't so sure I could teach her something like that properly, but I was very surprised when she ran right off..."
"Don't worry, Yumama!" Tyrrha assures her, brightly. "I found Mimama's office just fine! It only took me nine tries!"
"Nine... tries?" Yua asks, a touch hesitantly.
"Well, yeah," Tyrrha grins, rubbing at the back of her head. "'Cuz all those big office buildings kinda look alike, but they're all staffed by the same meek lady who says 'hey, you can't go back there!'... it's just that Mimama's joint is the only one her card works on! But if you run up the stairs, it's no problem! Nankuru nai sa~!"
"Tykko! Did you steal Mimi's spare keycard?" Yua gasps, aghast.
"I was just borrowin' it," Tyrrha insists.
"Hauuuuu..." Yua sighs, shaking her head, though she's smiling. That smile fades, though, as she looks to Miho again. "But if they wrested those resources from Kirijo... does that mean those whitecoats didn't have any more work there, or that there was so much work they had people to spare...?"
She frowns, picking up her chopsticks to peck at her chicken a little, some more. "... I'm troubled," she admits, quietly. "Those children... I wonder if they're strong enough to withstand it."
"But they're worthy opponents, right? So let's go beat them up right now!" Tyrrha suggests, still full of cheer.
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Glitter bomb... "That..." Miho reflects. "That would be fun, in the right circumstances," she decides. Pause. "But not here. It would be terrible to clean. Indeed, a bath bomb is better for that."
Hippos are cute! AND SUPER DEADLY.
But Kurou stopped by... "Ah, that's nice," Miho says. They wanted to play, but...
Sparring. Miho does remember that. It was... interesting. Her coworkers being weirded out even made it fun. ...Not that she could express that at the time, but now she smiles.
"Hmm," Miho says then. "Do not take my card again," she says. "But you did well to show such ingenuity and cleverness in how to find me. However..."
She says, "Next time, take one of my business cards. It has an address for the Katou Corporation."
"I don't know," Miho admits. "I know there was an incident ten years ago... But I don't know the details."
A pause. "I hope that they are. ...Perhaps we should investigate further."
A beat, "You must have a strong reason to fight even a worthy opponent--battle for battle's sake is satisfying, but can waste resources better spent elsewhere. We must have an objective in mind before we can fight them."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Oh... so what's the right circumstances?" Tyrrha wonders, innocently.
Here, Miho has a critical ethical junction in her path.
Does she advise Tyrrha to do good...
Or does she advise her to do something really funny?
"Yes, Mimama," Tyrrha says, just a little pouty, when she insists no more keycards for the baby. (The spare keycard, after all, is specifically kept on hand so that Yua can get access to Miho's office in an emergency. ... and in case Miho's head gets scrambled and she forgets where she put her card.) Miho suggests she take a business card, though, and Tyrrha makes a face. "Wait, but... so how's that card different?"
"I'll show you!" Yua says, her chair scraping back as she -- well, she doesn't hop up, she's feeling way too heavy to do that, she kind of grabs onto the side of the table to steady herself up, but let's say she hopped up to save her sense of grace and dignity. She bustles down the hall to the home office, and bustles back a moment later... with a square of cardboard! "Ta-daaa! We keep them in the office, okay? They're on Mimi's desk!"
"Huh," Tyrrha says, as she takes the card and examines it...
... and then chomps on it.
"Ohhhhh," she says, having left the cardboard with bite marks. "I get it! It's different 'cause Mimama's special card is made of plastic! So I have to level up before I get one like that, right?"
"Tykko... you didn't try to eat Mimi's keycard, right...?" Yua ventures.
"I mean, not for real or nothin'," Tyrrha shrugs.
"Aha... ahahahaha...!" Oh no, Yua's giggling about it.
Miho has wise words, of course, on the nature of practical battle, and Tyrrha tilts her head as she considers them. "So how do you know what's your resources?" She asks, quite practically.
"That's why we ask Mimama!" Yua assures her, smiling. "When it comes to fighting, she's the boss!"
"But how's Mimama know?" Tyrrha asks.
"Mimamamagic!" Yua explains, all a-sparkle.
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Ethics...
Miho considers that. What are the right circumstances?
"I'll let you know," Miho says. "Glitter bombs are only to be deployed with prior authorization." Pause. "...But sometime when we're facing the enemy outside our territory... We'll have to be sure to have one prepared."
Miho is not immune to humor.
Still, the card, Miho will explain when Yua returns--until Tyrrha just chomps.
"That is one difference," Miho says, and inclines her head. "It is well that you would investigate thoroughly. That said, the other difference is the information it contains, and another further is the way that information is encoded. The keycard has magnetic coding to contain information that serves as a 'key' to certain doors. The business card, on the other hand, contains information such as my name, cellphone number, and corporate address."
"It is generally considered rude to bite the business card... But then, their business is also rude, so I am not offended."
Yua's laughter makes her smile, at least.
"Knowledge of one's own resources is itself something attained through skill and practice. In your case... Yes, ask me."
"But in time, if you study hard, you will learn to identify them as well." Pause. "...It's not really magic."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Yup, yup," Tyrrha salutes, breezily, when Miho locks the glitter bombs behind authoritisation. "No prob, Mimama!"
She's gonna ask her about tossing one.
It's gonna make someone mad.
But, hey, maybe it'll make the process of fighting a little less awful for Yua...! She does seem terribly delighted by Tyrrha's strange methods of investigation...
"Oooooh," Tyrrha says, as Miho explains magnetic coding. (Somehow, despite being a robot, she didn't know that?! Then again, she's a robot with amnesia...) "Man, why can't I read the magnet whatsit? I want a magnet translator. You think Para-Mind'd hook me up with a magnet translator?"
"Maybe later," Yua says, and her shade of discomfort with seeking upgrades for Tyrrha is itself bustled away as she smiles, to Miho. "Oh, they're awfully rude, aren't they? I bet it was funny when Tykko barged in!"
"This one guy told me I was a feral child!" Tyrrha beams, quite proud of herself. "He must be been soooo impressed!"
"You're very fierce," Yua smiles, and she's not going to tell her, don't tell her, Mimi. "We're both very proud of you, ucha." That's the way Okinawans say 'sweets'... like Tyrrha's a little cookie?!
Tyrrha hums, thoughtfully, as Miho says it's a matter of skill and practice. But she says it's not magic, and so she looks between Yua and Miho, question marks teeming around her portrait. "But, Yumama said..."
"Hee hee," Yua giggles, sparkling to match. "Mimama is too serious for magic... okay! Let's call it her 'Mimamability'!"
She can do this all night.
Yua's powers are limitless.
