- Summary: After a very difficult health day for Yua, Miho finally receives a visitor of her own. Tomoki checks in on Miho's well-being, and convinces her to follow Yua's advice. Takes place after 2026-10-06: Care and Duty.
"Ijuuin-san," the nurse says softly, looking into the room where Yua is sleeping. Miho is there, in the chair beside her bed, holding her hand. Miho's height is stil apparent when she's seated, her imposing stature still imposing, though her eyes are bloodshot. She is clearly tired.
However, she hasn't gone home the last five times the nurses have suggested that visitng hours are over, either.
She looks up eventually. "Yes?" she says, also quietly, so as not to disturb Yua.
"You have a visitor," she says. "...I'd prefer not to send him in and risk waking Yua..." It's a careful gambit, but she knows how to work people.
"...Very well," Miho says. She leans down to kiss Yua's forehead. "I will be back."

"So, it was you." Miho's words would read harsher if not for the soft tone she uses to talk to Tomoki Hasegawa, her fiance. "I'm sorry. I am.. very late."
"I know," he says. That she's sorry? Or that she's late? Either way, he doesn't give his easy smile at the moment; he looks concerned at how clearly exhausted she is. He's even taller than she is, with hair a similar length to hers. And his handsome features are writ in that worry. "You're tired," he points out.
"I am. But Yua..."
"They couldn't tell me anything, since I'm not family," he says. "May I ask what happened?"
"She... crashed. It was fluid buildup in her heart... They were able to stabilize her eventually. But she is afraid of this place."
"Right... because of 'that.'" They're not going to speak openly of the circumstances in an 'unsecure' place; Miho already mentioned that she'd found surveillance bugs in the room, let alone out here where she can't check.
"Yes," Miho confirms, her green hair catching the dim light as she turns her head to look to the window. "...It is difficult. Never before have I seen how quickly her condition can deteriorate.. They asked 'why the family was still here'," she reflects. "But in the end, they needed me to come and calm her."
"I see... She does hate this kind of thing," he admits. "Still, that's got to be rough on you, too. Seeing something like that... It reminds me of my sister--she had some complications in her last pregnancy. ...I'd never thought much about how all that goes before then."
"...Yes," she says. "It is difficult to imagine until one has seen it." She knew he was an uncle; she hasn't asked as much as she realizes she'd like about his family. She should know it, if she's to link with them. ...But Yua quickly dominates her thoughts again. "And that is what she told me," Miho says. "That it was rough on me, as well..."
"You don't like to see her hurt. Nobody should, but you especially." Because Yua is so cute, of course. "...I wasn't there," he settles on. "I can't get it the same way. But I'm worried about you, too. She has a team of doctors working on her; your health might slip through the cracks."
Miho considers that perspective, as she reflects; she does have her own doctors, of course. Her medications... But they are looking after /Yua/, not her. And Yua said... "So you think I have taken some injury?" she wonders.
"To your heart, maybe." Talking emotions isn't his strong suit when he's not in front of the camera, but he can lean on that acting experience. "You're under a lot of stress," he continues. "It's like running. If you don't pace yourself, you won't finish the race. I'm not saying you have to leave--but you do need to get some sleep."
"..." Miho sighs. "...She suggested I go," Miho admits. "That I cannot rest well here..."
"Yeah?" Tomoki says, and deliberately does not weigh in. "How do you feel about that?"
"I feel as if I am shirking my duty," she says. "Something could happen again, but if I am not here..."
"I see..." Tomoki nods, crossing his arms thoughtfully. "You said she suggested you go home. Does she think you're shirking?"
"No," Miho says. "Quite the opposite, she wants even now to care for me..."
Tomoki nods. "All right. Then let me do a little caring, then. I am going to suggest that you /do/ go home. ...i'll go with you. We'll look after Tyrrha-chan, make sure you get some decent rest. I'll even make breakfast. If Tyrrha-chan can do pancakes, I can do eggs."
"...Heh," Miho vocalizes. "I suppose... that is well. But I will leave your number with them, as well. If they require me, wake me." She's not giving him her phone, obviously, but if she leaves hers on she'll be waiting for calls. "Do we have a deal?"
"We do," Tomoki says, and smiles faintly. "...Get on in there and tell her. I'll drive."
"...Very well. I will see you in a moment." Miho won't wake Yua, but she can't leave without telling her. ...it matters.
And indeed; she may finally get some sleep after all this...
