- OOC Date: October 7, 2026

- Summary: Morgana finally works up the nerve to tell Ann how he feels about her. As expected, she doesn't feel the same way back--but that doesn't mean she doesn't feel anything at all. She promises she'll bring everyone together to ask him to come back, and that gives him hope.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
It's time. Morgana already made up his mind that he's going to approach Ann and have a frank conversation with her about his feelings. (Technically, he made up his mind about this several times now, but shh.) To that end, he accompanied Kasumi to school, and has been prowling around Aoyama-Itchome all day, waiting for the school day to end.
During all that, he's sat and stared at her classroom window more than a few times--from behind cover, of course, since it's also Ren's classroom window and they stare out that window more than a few times. So too does Ann. Morgana's pretty sure at least one of them spotted him once, but there's no backing out now! He's going to be brave! He's going to find out once and for all how Ann feels about him...!
Inside the classroom, during one of the breaks, Ren nudges Ann gently. (Good for both of them that they sit right behind her, right next to the windows.) "Hey," they murmur. "I don't know if you have plans today, but after school, if you can, you should take a walk around the block. Find somewhere quiet."
If Ann asks them why, they give her a knowing look over the brim of their glasses and tilt the window the slightest little tip of the head.
If Morgana's out there, he's probably here for her. And if he's here for her...
Maybe Ren has failed to uphold their end of the deal. The least they can do is support him in confessing his love, however that pans out.
So it comes to pass that school ends, and everyone is released to whatever it is they have to do. Ren has no clubs and lots of friends, hobbies, and part-time jobs; they're out the gates in a flash, unimpeded. Morgana watches them go. Ann is free to do as they suggested or something else entirely, but Morgana's near the school gates, waiting in nervous anticipation for her to pass through.
The instant he sees her, he'll dash out in front of her, turn around, give her a Significant Look, and then trot off in the direction away from the train station.
He can only hope she follows.
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
It's time for a frank conversation about feelings.
Ann Takamaki, of course, doesn't really know about what feelings require a frank conversation over. Mostly, she's just worried about Morgana. After all, no matter what he might have been, right now, he is a cat -- and there are a lot of dangers out there in a city this big for a cat on his lonesome. Knowing that Yoshizawa has been looking after him puts her somewhat more at ease, but only just. It's hard not to feel like she looked away for a second and some kind of bridge got burned, and she's not even sure over what, exactly.
Was it her fault? Morgana wanted to speak with her about something. Was it really so important for such a big falling out...?
Worry has been the order of the day, a background white noise to the everyday concerns of a tragically renewed school semester that Ann is currently grappling with. She's staring distantly out the window, the chatter of students enjoying their break around her settling into a comfy ASMR of unintelligible noise as she props her chin on her upturned palm and sighs.
"Ugh," she mutters. "This is the wors..."
Nudge, nudge.
"Wha--?" Big sky blue eyes shutter out a blink; stirred from her reverie, Ann looks behind her to cast a questioning glance Ren's way. Her head cants. "Um. Not right now. Are you..."
She squints.
"... trying to tell me I should get some exercise...?"
Ann's not in a detecting sort of mood right now, okay??
But when Ren discreetly directs her gaze towards the outside world, Ann catches a glimpse of something. Something black, and feline, wandering the campus, just in the corner of her gaze. Said gaze widens.
"M-Morgana?!"
she yelps.
In the middle of class (albeit on break! It's not THAT bad!!).
She stalls out for a second. Looks to the other students still here. Lets out a little "aheh".
"W-we're talking about that old fantasy character! M-Morgana Le Guin!!"
...
AND WITH THAT MIRACULOUS SAVE,
We come to after class, where Ann Takamaki emerges from the big entry doors of Shujin Academy, a pensive frown on her lips and a concerned crease to her brows as she looks this way and that, shouldering her backpack as she looks for that familiar, tiny silhouette. She's sweeping the grounds intently, but sometimes -- sometimes what you're looking for is right under your nose.
Or like. Dashing directly under it. Like now!
"M-Morgana!!" Ann yelps again, this time, fortunately, without MANY students to hear her startle over a strange cat. Her eyes wide, she watches as her fellow Phantom Thief about faces, gives her the Look, and then -- sets off.
Ann, understandably confused, hesitates for a moment. The train station? Why is he-- crap he's getting pretty far away--!!
"H-hey, wait!"
And so Ann Takamaki chases after a dear friend and ally and/or to the outsider's perspective, chases after a cat, shouldering her backpack tightly as she tries to catch up. "Morgana! Jeez! Where've you been! Are you okay?? Everyone's worried sick about -- h-hey, don't go so fast, I had a big lunch--!"
Maybe... maybe she should think about getting some more exercise.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
It wasn't what Ren was suggesting by any means, which they convey by making a face at their close friend, but is it a bad thing to get more exercise, Ann? Considering you were looking to become an action movie star? Do you even remember saying that?
Regardless:
'That old fantasy character! Morgana Le Guin!' Ann declares to the room.
Ren's expression is undetectable behind the light glaring off the lenses of their glasses.
"...Morgana Le Fay," they say, "and she's from Arthurian legend. I keep telling you..."
They haven't told her this at all. Given their rising grades, and Ann's continually abysmal ones, it's going to sound believable all the same.
She got what they were trying to tell her anyway, and that's what counts.
AFTER SCHOOL:
Morgana is chased after by an Ann. He's relieved to see it. He doesn't go too-too far because he doesn't want to lose her and also there's a Homunculus in the area and he doesn't want to inadvertently put her in danger. Once he's gone just far enough that the two can be reasonably alone, he turns again and sits to wait for her.
"I'm just fine, Lad--I mean--I'm just fine," he reassures her, making a show of holding his head high. "I've been staying with Yoshizawa. She and I partnered up after I quit." He pauses, peering closely at her. "...Didn't anybody tell you?"
He doesn't mean just about Kasumi--he means about him quitting, period. ...and about why he quit. All considered, he can understand why maybe no one would've wanted to tell her, and he's got mixed feelings on if that turns out to be true.
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
SHE'S WORKING ON THE GRADES OKAY
It's just --
a process!!
Academic struggles are the furthest thing from Ann Takamaki's mind right now, however; and while that is often the case - shhhut up - in this case, it's because a legitimately more important thing has come up to dominate her attention: a friend in need.
And regardless of anything else, that is exactly what Morgana is:
A friend.
So, Ann follows swift on Morgana's heels. For the most part. Her haphazard exercise routine she put together in a fit of pique and ten minutes of late night internet surfing on 'HOW TO GET AN ACTION STAR BODY QUICK' and has been semi-pseudo-sometimes-following helps her not be totally winded by the time they reached that little nook away from prying eyes. Which is a good thing, considering it's, like, maybe a few dozen feet out.
"Hoo, ugh, okay, maybe I do need to exercise more," Ann complains under her breath, because it was still much more of an effort than, like, Sonny Chiba or Arnold Schwarzenegger would probably have needed to give. She takes a brief moment, steadying her breath -- but more importantly, looking around her to make sure no one's followed.
Especially that creepy Homunculus skulking around. If it's not one thing, it's another...!
it's when Morgana speaks that those eyes the same color as the clear skies above round back on him, wide and expressive. In the cold of winter, Ann's sigh of relief at his reassurance is a visible thing, congealing into misty white vapors past pink lips that swiftly dissipate into nothing.
"Thank god," she says, and she means it. But then the rest comes. She was aware of the situation, of course. But still...
She and I partnered up after I quit.
Ann pauses. Lips purse; brows furrow. Didn't anyone tell her?
"Obviously," she says with immediacy, her furrow only deepening. "But that doesn't mean I'm not worried! That's the whole reason why I'm worried! We all are! It's dangerous out here, Morgana! The city's a big place, and..."
Concerned. But it's a concern that can easily be construed as thinking he can't take care of himself. And maybe part of it is. After all, he's...
"... Why did you quit? Just like that?"
She knows he quit. When he did. Where he went, even.
Why, though...
"Was it because of something Ryuji said? I heard you guys got into another fight. Seriously, Morgana, that's such a -- I can just wallop him one for you, if you need! Y'know?" That frown deepens. "You didn't have to leave us all over that."
She's perhaps perennially in the dark on the why.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
A process that's getting you left in the dust by Ryuji Sakamoto, Ann. BY RYUJI, OF ALL PEOPLE.
(Who knew a girlfriend could be so motivating to getting one's grades up?!)
(Well... Ren knew.)
Morgana's ears and whiskers lift in a portrait of hope when Ann thanks god so sincerely that he's doing fine. Maybe it only follows if she hasn't been told what went down--she's always been such a kind woman, beautiful in face and in heart! (and never mind how she almost set Shadow Kamoshida on fire)--that she wouldn't be angry at him! Maybe she does know, and she isn't angry at all, like Ichika...!
Obviously, she says, and his ears airplane back a bit as she proceeds to scold him about how worried they all are. "I can take care of myself," he says stubbornly, absolutely construing it that way, though more out of pride and shame than anything else. Even one day on the streets, he wasn't sure how he was going to do... He's gotten good at navigating the Tokyo train systems, despite his feline form, but having a place to crash at the end of the day really makes a huge difference.
He really dislikes the idea of Ann talking to him like... like he's just a helpless little cat, though.
Then she asks why he quit.
"..."
He looks down at the street as she offers to whallop Ryuji for him, that he didn't need to quit over a fight with him. There are a lot of reasons he could give, but honestly, there's only one that matters.
Then he takes a deep breath, squares his unsquareable feline shoulders, and looks back at up her. "Lady Ann! I've wanted to ask you this for a long time now," he says firmly. "What do you think of me?"
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
I can take care of myself, Morgana says. Ann's frown just deepens, but she pushes on -- for now tabling anything she might say in response to that. After all, she needs to know:
Why?
What she gets in return is not so much an answer as it is a seeming non-sequitur of a question (for her). Lady Ann! Morgana declares, and the platinum blonde Second Year blinks at the sudden call of her name and that familiar title with a voice full of firm determination.
What does she think of Morgana?
Bemusement paints itself across fair features. "Err? W-where did this come from??" she can't help but ask on reflex, because it is (for her) very much out of left field. Her brows screw, her body language momentarily perplexed. But --
Maybe this is why he quit, she realizes. Maybe what he and Ryuji argued about triggered something in him?
Maybe Morgana is just worried the others don't like him, and is lashing out...?
"..."
She needs to navigate this carefully. But honestly. She can't just lie to him to make him feel good, right? That isn't what he'd want. She's silent for the longest time, watching him, biting the inside of her cheek in such a way that the pale flesh their dimples gently. Arms folding under her chest, she looks lost in thought, as if giving that question the time and care it deserves to put a proper answer into words.
"... I think... you're very important to me."
These are promising words. They're, more importantly, earnest ones.
But...
Ann quietly lowers herself into a crouch after she says those words, arms folding over red stocking'd knees as she tilts her head. "I mean, without you, we'd never have made it out of Kamoshida's Castle alive! And I -- I'd never have been able to get justice for Shiho. You know? I'm seriously grateful to you for that. And you're reliable, and you know a lot about the Metaverse..." She lifts a hand, index finger up, smiling bright and encouragingly.
"And until Futaba and Hibari came along, we never would have made it through those Palaces without you, either!"
... promising words can get swiftly undercut in many ways.
Ann knows that Morgana must be having some kind of self-confidence issue -- or at least, she's fairly positive. She knows if she can help reassure him, she'll do her best to. She also knows that he hates to be called a cat.
"You're like... a mascot for the whole team! And to me, you're even more important."
But, emotionally mature as Ann is...
"You're like a little brother, or something, you know!"
She's also 17 years old. The nuance of these moments escape her.
And she just can't fathom how Morgana would ever have a crush on her.
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
Morgana isn't always the most emotionally intelligent of people, but Ann's such an open book most of the time that it's clear she really doesn't understand why he's asking even before she asks about it. That's a bad sign.
Still, she takes a long time to consider her words, those stunningly sky blue eyes locked on him, so deep in thought that she's all but lost in herself for several moments. That's a good sign!
She tells him he's important to her! She gets down on his level, at least as much as she can! She tells him how he helped her get justice for Shiho, her beloved friend! She calls him reliable and knowledgeable! Better and better signs! Morgana's chin rises with each thing she says--
'And until Futaba and Hibari came along, we never would have made it through those Palaces without you, either!'
"....."
In other words, now that Futaba and Hibari are here, they can do just fine without him.
B-but that doesn't necessarily mean anything--Morgana knows Ann wouldn't think that way, and just because they've got specialized Navigators now doesn't mean that he's useless! She could still see him as--
'A mascot for the whole team!'
'Like a little brother, or something, you know!'
It's said that Apollo and Artemis shot sunbeams and moonbeams as arrows from their bows, and anyone whom they struck, they struck down dead. Morgana feels like that now as the blinding brightness of Ann's sincere smile pierces him with the darkness of despair.
His entire body seems to wilt.
"Like... a mascot, or a little brother, huh..." He hangs his head. "Yeah... yeah, that sounds about right... In other words, no matter how you look at me, you just don't see me as a human, do you?"
His tone isn't accusatory.
It's defeated.
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
Ann is sure she's on the right track towards getting Morgana to come back. She's certain of it.
It's easy for someone to feel alone and neglected. Ann understands that kind of isolation better than most. Before the Phantom Thieves, all she had was Shiho, really -- and more and more Kamoshida isolated Ann from even her. Everyone else just...
...
But that's why she's certain that what Morgana needs to here is that he is wanted, and accepted -- important, even. And she means it when she says it -- every word.
She just doesn't understand a critical piece of information: how he sees her.
And so, without knowing it, she notches the lethal arrow that pierces straight through his heart.
For a second, she doesn't really register how Morgana's entire self seems to just deflate. She's just certain she's reached the heart of the issue, and so, she's still smiling as she insists, "I mean it. So, you should come back to us, Morgana, because we need you! Okay?"
And it's only then that she notices how his head sags, how his entire body seems to have gone a certain state of despondent limp. Once more, those big blue eyes blink in bemusement.
"... Morgana...?"
Like a mascot.
Or a little brother.
In other words... no matter how she looks at him, she doesn't see him...
Ann's eyes widen. And in a brief moment, she realizes how she's messed up, even if she's at a loss as to just how badly she has.
"W-wait -- Morgana, I didn't mean--"
She didn't mean it like that.
But that's part of the problem, isn't it?
No matter how hard she tries to keep it in mind, he still looks...
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
If she'd said the words we need you a little earlier, maybe it would've convinced him. Those are words Morgana desperately wants to hear, and to hear them from Ann is especially uplifting. It's just...
Morgana has his pride, too. Even he won't chase after a hopeless love forever. Especially if it makes the likes of Ryuji call him a white-knighting creep.
"No--no, it's okay," he reassures her, strained but trying his genuine best to not make her feel bad. "I mean, even if I talk, I still... look like this. It'd be weird to not have that at least a little in mind whenever you talk to me. So..."
He trails off for a moment. It'd be easy to leave it at that.
Easy, and cowardly. She deserves to know what everyone else has been waiting for him to tell her. He takes a deep breath (not unlike how Ren does it), then lets it out.
"...Lady Ann, nearly ever since we met, I've always been captivated by your--your charm, and beauty, and compassion and kindness, and your joie de vivre, your passion, your love for your friends... I could go on forever if you let me. You went through so many horrible things before you awoke to your Persona, and you could've gone through so many more if things had gone wrong, but you kept your head high and walked forward into the future with your head held high. I truly admire that. That's why... there couldn't be anyone for me but you."
He swallows hard.
"I l-love you, Lady Ann."
His furry cheeks bunch up, as if he were forcing a smile.
"...But Ryuji was right all along, huh? There's no way you'd love someone who looks like a cat back. I mean, it'd be weird, right? So weird it never even occurred to you."
His voice cracks.
"I'm really... really stupid, aren't I? To ever think I could've had a chance..."
He gets up abruptly and turns his back to her. With one paw, he grooms his face for a moment, then clears his throat. He doesn't quite regain his composure, but he doesn't sound like he's on the verge of tears anymore either.
"Now just to be completely clear, I don't blame you for that, Lady Ann. How I feel is my problem." He sets his paw down and stares up at the distant sky, same color as her eyes. "But when we formed The Phantoms, I also made a deal with all of you: I'd teach you the trade of phantom thievery, and you'd help me get my memories and my human form back. I mean, if I had those, I could show off my real charm and show you, all of you, a different side of me. But ever since then, it feels like we've barely even talked about it. Sometimes I wonder if you guys even remember that was the deal in the first place. Does everyone who joined later even know about it? Or did it just fall to the wayside at some point?
"...So if it's really only important to me, then there's no point in sticking around. That's why I left."
Ironically, it isn't why he teamed up with Kasumi. That was literally only because she was nice, and because she was there, and an excuse to refuse to return to Leblanc with Ren. It's not like Morgana dislikes Kasumi, far from it, but...
He doesn't know.
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
Morgana tries to reassure her it's okay. But the sinking knot in her stomach makes her feel like it's anything but.
What can she say, though? Right now, she's at a loss. She isn't sure she can say the thing she thinks Morgana wants to hear -- and Morgana's own words cut to the quick of all those reasons why.
Even with everything they've seen, it's always been confined to the Metaverse, hasn't it? How does a human turn into a cat? As much as he insists he's not a cat, as much as she tries to internalize it, she just...
Words escape her, never quite forming on parted pink lips as she glances aside. But Morgana has more to say, and as he does, blue eyes widen and pale brows rise. "Um--!" she begins, and the unexpected wealth of flattery takes her off-guard, inspiring a little flash of pink at her cheeks. It's not like she's been completely oblivious to Morgana's effusive praise. But what little she hadn't filtered out and filed under 'oh that Morgana' always felt more like -- well -- effusive praise. Like someone who admires someone else might do.
Like someone who...
I l-love you, Lady Ann.
Ann stalls out, eyes wide and almost uncomprehending from where she is crouched near the cold, January streets. The only sign she has not simply become a statue embedded in the cement is the way those congealing puffs of breath spill from her lips, every handful of seconds.
Pink lips part. They stay that way for several seconds before muscles twitch to form a single, simple, startled word:
"--O-oh."
It's, perhaps, not what anyone wants to hear. But as Ren has had firsthand knowledge of, Ann Takamaki has a very hard time processing the fact that someone might like her -- even if it's entirely in her head. It's doubtless no small thanks to how she's had to spend the better chunk of her teenage years fending off countless creeps hitting on her or asking her out just because of the assumptions they made based on how she looked, or the rumors swirling around her.
But it really does her no favors in this moment, as she tries to process - and respond - to something that frankly she doesn't even begin to know how to deal with gently.
She feels a little numb in that state of blindsided shock, such that her mind races to catch up as Morgana presses on. "Morgana," she begins, not even realizing she's speaking for a second, like she was outside her body, looking on, "it's just..."
What can she say? Her words hang for a second, and a sigh spills from her lips as she looks aside and says all she can think to say:
"... I'm sorry."
She can't rightly deny what he's saying, even if it doesn't change the fact that she does think he's important.
... Just not in the way he hoped.
Still...
I'm really... really stupid, aren't I?
Ann frowns. Her fingers curl tightly against the red fabric of her stockings.
"You're not," she insists in a quiet, taut voice, frustrated. With herself, most of all. "You're not."
He turns. Half-worried he's going to run off, she starts again with, "Morgana," gaze turning up and lurching forward -- but he speaks again, some measure of stability finding his voice, even if it's clear pain is still underlying it. Her hand hangs, before dropping back down, and Ann listens, brows furrowing. Morgana's goal... of course, she remembers. But with everything that's happened... with how they've been growing more and more popular, and all the (frankly offputting) expectations mounting on them more and more...
... did they lose sight of that? All the little, essential, reasons why they came together in the first place, like this?
Have they...
She can't say if they've forgotten; she can't even say if the new members know. She can't speak for them. So she just scrambles to find something to say, shaking her head with a whip of twintails carrying the emphatic, dismissing motion.
"D-don't say that! Just... we'll make sure everyone knows -- that they remember, okay? Just come back, and we'll tell everyone--!"
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
There are times where you can tell that nothing is okay, despite all reassurances to the contrary. Morgana can only do so much about that, because he doesn't want to... well, actually, he's fully willing to lie to make her feel better, but after everything that's happened recently--everything that's been said, both in the heat of the moment and after tempers have cooled--it doesn't feel right to do that now. The best he can do is let her know he doesn't blame her.
Because he doesn't. He hates it, but he does get it. He just... never wanted to. It's a bit comforting to see her react to his admiration with a blush, like maybe she might think a little differently of him after all, but he knows by now that's a pipe dream. Her one-syllable answer--her apology--only nail the lid of that coffin in place.
"It's... okay. You don't have to be," he says just as heavily. "I'm just glad you heard me out."
This time, he doesn't say, because he doesn't want to guilt-trip her, but there may be some of that wafting about.
At least she insists he's not stupid. That's actually comforting, in an odd way. She might not feel the same way back, and maybe she never will whether he regains his human form or not, but she does still care about him as a friend, like she already said. She does still care about his feelings for their own sake. At least there's that.
So when she tries to ply him with promises that they'll make sure everyone knows, for a moment, he's wistful. He knows she means it. It really is comforting knowing she wants him back, that she cares about him on at least some level. For a moment, it really is tempting. She did say they need him, didn't she...?
But he's still a proud not-a-cat. Something about just slinking back on the heels of rejection stings far worse than the rejection itself.
"Hmph... What makes you think I even want to come back?" he sniffs, tail undulating. He peeks slightly over his shoulder at her. "But I know you mean it, so... i-if you can get everyone together to ask, I'll consider it!" He rises to his paws. "Yoshizawa and I are still preparing to take on a new Palace. If we steal its Treasure before you guys can get your act together, then I really am better off with a small, light duo!"
He pauses. "...Sound fair?" he adds, because he can't bear to be too aggressive with Ann.
<Pose Tracker> Ann Takamaki has posed.
It's okay. She doesn't have to be.
But she still is.
Ann can put together some idea of what had been fraying at Morgana those days leading up to his blow up with Ryuji. Now that she knows what he wanted to talk to her about - now that she knows that she essentially left him twisting in the wind, even if she didn't intend to, even if it was beyond her control.
She can imagine how frustrated he was.
And now, she has to say this. No matter how gently she tries to put him down, she still feels badly, still feels guilty. At this moment, after trying to arrange this so many times, it must be like salt in the wound, huh...?
She pushes her guilty feelings down, at least for now; they serve as partial tinder for her earnest efforts to bring him back. For a moment, she's hopeful. That they can set the record straight; that, if nothing else, she can do /this/ much for him. Her hands clasp together, elbows on knees, and then--
Hmph... What makes you think I even want to come back?
Ann flinches back slightly. Even if it's a response borne out of pride, she still feels the sting of guilt. A canine clenches at her lower lip for a pensive second. "Morgana... is it because I..."
Thankfully, he continues before she can finish her thought. Those expressive eyes shutter out another blink of surprise as she digests his ultimatum... and the right corner of her lips twitches upward once she does.
Sound fair?
"... Okay," she says, after a time. "Sounds fair."
Resolve flares in her eyes. She rocks forward on the balls of her feet, gaze steeled, smile now a determined grin.
"I'm gonna make them all tell you how much they want you back. I'll prove it to you -- you're definitely going to come back to us!"
Her head cocks upward, right hand curled into a fist smacking into its opposite's waiting palm.
-=smk!=-
"That's the guarantee of a Phantom Thief!" </poem>
<Pose Tracker> Ren Amamiya has posed.
It was frustrating. Morgana intellectually knew that Ann didn't mean to leave him twisting in the wind, that it was out of her control, but that didn't change how he felt about it. It still doesn't, for all he's doing his level best to be mature and graceful about everything. Feelings have their own logic, and one can't always use rationality to make it fall in line.
In the same way, Morgana doesn't want to make Ann feel guilty for turning him down. As much as he hated hearing it at the time, Ryuji was right that she wasn't going to feel for him back--and if he was right about that, then was he right about the white-knighting and being a creep...? That's something else he's going to have to wrestle with, because it also pushes back against his desire to be a gentleman and protect ladies. That's a conversation to have another day, though.
Right now--she agrees. She hesitates, but she agrees... and then she regains her fire.
It heartens Morgana to see it. That's the way Lady Ann should be! ...should he still be calling her 'Lady' Ann...? That's another thing to consider another day. Right now, she gives her guarantee as a phantom thief.
"Heh... If anyone could pull it off, it's you," he replies, unable to help a smile. "'Til then... I'll see you around." He pauses, bowing his head. "...Thanks for hearing me out to the end, L... Lady Ann."
He'll turn and bound off the next instant without waiting for her response.
