- Summary: Shinobu comes to visit Yua while Miho is brushing Yua's hair. They talk about their history, some secrets, and the matter of their common quality.
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
It's Friday, which means...
... Yua's been in hospital for almost 2 weeks...
... and Hiroki would have been 30 weeks if he were still unborn...
... and the last time she had a serious medical crash was a week ago.
There have been a few near-misses, though -- a few places where Yua would have crashed, except that the medical staff are learning more about what to look for and what to monitor. Part of that, sadly, involves a nurse coming in every few hours and pricking her finger and putting her blood on a little strip to tell them how sweet she is!
(The number is low a lot, and apparently that's bad. They show her the number and expect her to know why that's bad. Yua knows it's bad, but it's bad because it's medicine, and medicine is bad. The particulars are really over her head.)
Both women are upright for once; Miho's just helped her with pumping, and now it's time to brush her hair, which is an entire process because Yua's hair falls down to her thighs. (Hiroki is in his cot busily eating, speaking of; he still needs to be fed through a tube while he figures the coordination out. They'll hold him after...!)
Yua, sadly, is stuck in the comfy chair (they made her GET UP OUT OF BED) as they prick her finger in the middle of all that. "Owwww!" She whines, looking up to Miho with that big, wibbly eye. "Mimi, he stabbed meeee..."
"You're at 3.5," the nurse says. "It's a little low... please have some juice, and I'll check again shortly."
"Uuuuu... you already stabbed me! I don't want second stab!!" Yua pouts, mightily... but still reaches over to get her little tub of juice from the table.
"Stupid cuppy juice," she pouts, as she pulls back the lid and sips at it.
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Friday!
...Miho, just this moment, is brushing Yua's hair. Her hands are big and strong, but she performs the work delicately, holding gently onto Yua's hair in one hand and moving the brush through it with the other. Hiroki can be held after he eats, yes--
But Miho is behind Yua to do her hair, at the moment. nd that big wibbly eye--
"I know," she says. She frowns. There has to be a better way to monitor that...
Well, maybe not. She's more inclined to trust the doctors than Yua is.
"It will be all right," MIho says, and gently works her hands through Yua's voluminous hair.
"...Just focus on me, for now."
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
It's Friday! Shinobu, of course, has an inconsistent work schedule(and an inconsistent place of employment, but that comes with the territory). Today, though, she's off work earlier than usual... and, conveniently, found herself on the job in Aoba. Which means there's plenty of time to swing by the hospital. And so, as Miho tends to Yua... there's a knock on the door.
"Hey, Yua-chan, it's Shinobu. Are you in the mood for visitors?" Shinobu asks. It's polite to check instead of just barging in. She can hear Miho in there... but Miho is different.
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
Yua likes when Miho brushes her hair... brushie, brushie!
But stabs? Stabs she does not like.
(There's a continuous monitor for this sort of thing, but the doctors don't think this level of fragiltiy will be permanent... well, they hope.)
Miho, though, is different, and Yua hums, reaching back to grasp her pant-leg as she brushes. (It would be her shirt, but, well... she's really tall.) "Mimiiiii..." Yua whines, and hopefully doesn't get any dots of blood on Miho's nice suit as she grasps at her.
Not that it would be the first time, or even necessarily the last time today.
But then, what's that, on the horizon?! At Yua's darkest hour, a distraction--!!!
"Nobumizu!" Yua chirps, when she realises it is not a hated nurse but her theatre buddy at the door. "Mm, mm! Come in, come i-- oh, hands!!" She was so eager to have a nicer visitor, she almost forgot...
(Even if Shinobu wouldn't.)
"Moouuu... you're off work, right? Did you have a lot to do today? Did you go all the way to Shibuya? Did you have to hit anyone with a big stick?" Yua leans forward in her chair -- Mihos adjust -- as her hands come forward to press their heels into the edge of the seat. "They keep hitting me with a little stick," she pouts. "They stab me all the time! And they tell me I'm not sweet enough! That's SO not fair, I'm the MOST sweet! Mimi, tell her!!"
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Miho only likes inflicting stabs. And even then, with the sabre, a slash is usually better. But no one is being stabbed by Miho today, least of all Shinobu!
Miho will accept a little blood if it's necessary. Dry cleaning works.
"Shimizu-san," Miho greets. It's warmer than it might sound; she's glad to see her. "I'm pleased that you came." And she doesn't even have work for her today!
Hands, though...
Miho lets Yua handle all the questions. Miho does adjust, much like a healer might, and begins stroking down Yua's hair further. Her muscled arms show in the light; she took off her own jacket already.
"You're the sweetest," Miho says to Yua, in a sure tone of voice. "The very most."
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
Yua greets her and welcomes her in - and, fortunately, Shinobu is already on the way to tend to her hands first thing. Even if she forgot in her excitement, things would have been fine!
Miho greets her as she approaches them and Shinobu nods back.
"Hey, Ijuuin-san. Good to see you again. And, thanks. How've you been?" Shinobu asks. She looks back toward Yua, then, who has a barrage of questions for her. Shinobu chuckles good-naturedly, weathering the storm.
Yua complains that she's the sweetest, and Miho confirms. They're testing for... It takes a second for it to click for Shinobu what she means by that.
"I'm sure you are... but I don't think that's quite what they're looking for." Shinobu suggests.
"But yeah, I just got off work a little bit ago. A job right here in Aoba, in fact. Didn't have to hit anyone this time, no," This time. "But they did need an extra pair of hands to move some heavy stuff around, so I can sympathise with bein' sore." She offers.
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Mimi's really happy!" Yua translates for Shinobu, cheerfully, hearing the warmth in her voice. It might be difficult to imagine Miho being cheerful enough to emit daisies in her portrait, though...
"Mm... is it okay?" She's distracted from Shinobu's glories, for a moment, to glance back at Miho and ask. Her long (long, long) hair gets tangled so easily in hospital, even keeping it in a braid all the time... but Yua hasn't felt the pull of any knots, even if there were any.
She sparkles even brighter, when Miho assures her of her ultimate sweetness. "Mmhm, mmhm!!" She nods, with a little flush to her cheeks. "Mimi would know! Hauuu," she pouts, looking to Shinobu, "but I guess it's some kinda medicine thing... they said it's why I passed out sometimes." Not all the time???
(There are a lot of ways for someone to pass out; Yua has tried most of them.)
This time!! Yua giggles, at that. (And wonders, aside, how Shinobu gets her dry-cleaning done...) Moving heavy stuff, though --
"Oh!" Yua realises, putting two and two together. "Oh, right! Like moving house! Nobuuumizu, sit down! Sit, sit! There's chairs somewhere..." Both of them have things on them -- though one is only occupied by Miho's jacket. Yua gestures at the other visitor's chair, with some towels stacked on it, and says: "Just put those on my bed, it's fine!"
(Miho gets to help with showers, too. Yua definitely doesn't want some weirdo medicine guy seeing her naked. It's bad enough with the boobies!!)
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Mimi's really happy. Miho inclines her head once more. "I am," she confirms, though she still doesn't sound all that happy. she doesn't sound unhappy either, at least. "I've been well. I am worried for Yua of course," she says, "But being able to come and see her is a great comfort to me. ...Her hair is lovely, isn't it?" she asks.
Shinobu is right, of course. Yua's blood could be sweeter. But Miho isn't talking about blood today. "I would," she confirms, know. "It's good. Hitting people tends to invite liability. Better to avoid it."
Then, "Ah, yes. My hands are full, or I'd clear them for you." Of hair! She has to be very careful so that Yua doesn't feel any tangles or kinks.
Well, those kinds of kinks.
"There's something meditative about hard work, isn't there?" she asks, speaking of lifting heavy things.
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
Yua translates for her, and Miho confirms it. It's nice to know she's in a good mood.
"I'm touched." Shinbou replies with a smile, and nods as Miho says she's been well. "Glad to hear it. But, yeah, must be a real tough time for you... I'm glad you're able to visit her, though. For both of you."
Miho compliments Yua's hair, and Shinobu takes a look.
"Yeah, it's really pretty, Yua-chan. It looks nice." Shinobu compliments. "Looks like you're doing a good job with it, too, Ijuuin-san."
She doesn't doubt that Miho would know. Yua does allow that it's a medicine thing - and that it's why she's passed out sometimes. ...She doesn't ask for elaboration there.
"Yeah, it's pretty important..." Shinobu comments with a nod. Yua's giggling get a smile out of her, though, and she chuckles at Miho's comment.
"Yeah, things like that." Shinobu confirms - but Yua invites her to sit down. She looks toward the chairs, and then to her bed. "Is that alright? Sure, then."
She relocates the towels to the bed and pulls up one of the chairs, settling in. Once she does, she nods toward Miho.
"There is, yeah." She agrees. "I like work that keeps me up and active more than somethin' that makes me sit down for long periods of time. I've gotta be doing something, you know?"
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Mm, mm, for Yua-chan too!" Yua chirps, when Miho expresses what a comfort it is to see her. Shinobu sees it, too, and Yua nods brightly to her. "Yup yup!"
... HEY! You can't just -chan yourself in the third person, Yua!!!
(oh, worse people have done it.)
"Mimi is being so brave," Yua adds, with a wide eye, "... and Yua-chan, too! Mouuuuuu, did you know I'll have been in hospital two weeks tomorrow?! It's `two weeks` because that's `too many weeks!`" She slips into English to make her pouty little joke, proving in the process that her English is actually surprisingly good.
(Maybe not that surprising, if you know where all the American bases were banished to...)
"Aaa, thank you!" Yua brings her little fists up to her cheeks when Shinobu compliments her hair. "I've been growing it ever since me and Mimi got serious! So that's for," she tries not to make it blatantly obvious she's counting on her hands, "... nine years now!! It's important to me...!"
(Which explains why it survived five of those years.)
"Mimi's making sure it doesn't get messed up in hospital," she adds, with a sparkle. "Mimi's the best at doing my hair! Her brushie brushie doesn't hurt at all!" Is -- is it legal to just call something brushie brushie out loud like that? Surely there's a law?! Quick, someone call Kimitake --
wait, no, don't do that, Yua's happy right now.
"... Mimi," Yua asks, looking back to her for a moment in a true test of the healer's capacity to adjust, "why would someone think you were saying bad things when you hit someone?" Yua... mixed up 'liability' and 'libel'...
"When you do something," she decides, looking back to Shinobu, "you can see it happen! It's good! Like in dancing... you can't just imagine a dance!"
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
"Yes." For both of them. But Yua is happy, and Yua is -channing herself again, and all is well for at least a few moments.
Miho focuses on Yua's hair, of course, rather than on the length of time Yua is in the hospital and is likely to remain in the hospital. There's nothing she can do about that one, but soothingly brushing her hair is something she can do to help Yua's feelings. "Too many," she agrees, also in English.
And it's for a long time. This also of course reveals that Yua and Miho have been together as long as they have. "It's important to me as well," Miho confirms. Brushie brushie. One would imagine Miho wouldn't appreciate being called something so cute, but she just smoothly, calmly continues on. This, too, is meditative.
"It's fine," Miho assures Shinobu--and then she laughs softly. "It's only libel if it's written," she assures Yua.
But dancing and lifting and--"I feel the same," Miho says. "Even at a desk job I'd prefer something that gives me something to show for it afterwards--like writing."
"...But I prefer to be active. It's good that we can agree about that."
"This, for instance," she says, "Requires careful handling. Anyone's hair can become tangled over the course of a long day; if you pull too hard, you'll break and damage it. Patience is required..."
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
Just like she thought, it's comforting for both of them. Shinobu nods. This is exactly the sort of time when they'd need each other the most.
Yua says Miho is being brave, and so is she. It takes a second for her to translate her joke in her head, but when she gets it, she offers a sympathetic laugh.
"Two weeks, huh... Here's hoping you get good news." She says. It must be difficult.
Yua thanks her for the compliment and Shinobu nods, listening as she explains. Surprise crosses her face when Yua says how long they've been serious.
"Wow. Nine whole years, huh? That's a pretty long time." Shinobu replies. "Pretty impressive, though. I'm happy for both of you."
Miho's making sure her hair doesn't get messed up in the hospital, Yua explains, and Shinobu nods in understanding - with 'brushie brushie' getting a slight smile.
Miho clarifies Yua's misunderstanding, and then agrees with her. Yua points out how it's good when you can see the work happen.
"Yeah, exactly." Shinobu agrees. "You've gotta get up and move. You can feel it, see it happening."
Miho gets a nod, too.
"Yeah, I get that, too. Never been much of a desk work kinda gal," That's putting it lightly. "But it'd be a lot easier to put up with if I could see the results."
And Miho demonstrates what she means, in the care she's taking with Yua's hair. Care, and patience. Shinobu nods.
"Yeah... It's a lot of work. I mean, I keep mine short," Shinobu runs a hand through her hair demonstratively. "But I've got a lot of respect for people who can keep long hair looking nice."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"They said I wasn't leaving tomorrow, either," Yua sighs, to Shinobu, though her pouting doesn't last long under present circumstance. Miho's attention to Yua's hair is soothing, in fact! Brushie, brushie... it might be strange to describe something Miho does so cutely, but Yua somehow manages to pull it off. Look at her, she's so happy...!
Why, she's happy enough to even talk about herself. "I moved to Sumaru and met Mimi in 2005! Before that, we moved around a lot..." Which might explain some more about why Yua's teaching, and not performing in a troupe herself, with a little reading between the lines. Moving between studios is hard! "But when we decided what we were doing, I thought it would be fun to grow my hair out! And then more and more...! They call it 'high femme', but isn't that funny? I'm not high! Mimi's high! Oh, but maybe I'm a high femme because Mimi picks me up..."
Yua is rich enough to have a private room, so she feels bold enough to talk about such unforgivable things when it's difficult to listen it, at least now Miho has cleared out all the listening bugs again. ... she really doesn't know that many other women who like women, when most of the housewives are either happy with their husbands or would be happy if their business arrangement was a little more considerate of her feelings.
"Ohhhh," Yua says, as Miho explains the difference with libel. "I get it!" ... does she really get it...? ... WAIT A MINUTE IS SHE WHERE TYRRHA GETS THAT FROM?!
"I don't like desks," Yua says, with just as much confidence. "Desks is paperwork and paperwork makes my head hurt. Metrics, metrics, blaaaah!!! Stupid management people care too much about making lines go up and not enough about making it matter! A lot of my kids are really stressed out by exams and stuff, you know? That's why they don't come to school! If I start testing them, they won't like my class any more, either--!!"
Yua's a fake teacher, but she still takes it pretty seriously, huh....?
She smiles, though, glancing back to Miho. "Mimi's really good, though," she says, looking back to Shinobu. "She doesn't pull at all! And she has so many tricks, like the little spray bottle! She's so patient...!"
Yua giggles, as she adds: "I think Mimi brushing my hair was half the reason I decided no more cutting! I can do it myself, but I love Mimi doing it much, much more...! She gets so focused, and she's so careful! I bet it wouldn't look half as good if I didn't have help..."
She gestures up, a touch blindly, to the vague place where Miho's short hair is. (Somewhere up there. Up, up, up there...) "Short hair is very good, too! I love butch hair! It's the best! I like doing Mimi's hair, too... hee hee, but it takes much less time to dry!"
Dear gods, how much do they spend each month on electricity for their hairdryer alone?
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Probably not the next day, either. Don't tell Yua!
"indeed," Miho says of their hope for good news. She smiles, though--it is small, but it is there, as she continues to work and occasionally spray and brush--and nods. "Thank you," she says to Shinobu.
Yua explains it, and explains a little further. Miho gives the barest look of amusement at the matter of 'high femme'. "I would like to pick you up again," she comments. "But they do call it that. I think it's more of an elevated status than an elevated physicality..."
She gets it. She probably gets it.
"Some students don't learn as well in the traditional way," Miho reflects. "It's a difficulty."
"Indeed," Miho says. "I can imagine; you are too active and dynamic to be held down that way."
Demonstrating...! "It wouldn't," Miho assures Yua. "Your beauty is a thing of effort, not only inclination... though you're very pretty even when you don't try. You work hard, though. I apprecaite taht about you."
As for her hair, "I used to keep mine long--but I find it's more pleasant to help Yua with hers than to worry about doing my own. It is a little longer than it used to be..." But not by that much.
Somewhere! Waaaay up there.
"Yes." Respect! "...I was telling Yua the other day how you helped inspire my career change," she comments then to Shinobu. "And I find I have a lot more interesting things to do than sending reports to people who will make them into more reports."
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
"Sucks." Shinobu offers with a wince of sympathy when Yua says she isn't leaving tomorrow. She doesn't doubt it won't be the next day, either - but she nods, when Miho thanks her for the well wishes.
Yua talks about herself! Shinobu listens with interest, nodding thoughtfully.
"Oh yeah? That's cool..." She comments thoughtfully. 2005... She tries to think about where she would've been, then. But Yua continues. That's when she thought it would be fun... "I think it's worked out for you."
She grins, though, at her comment about high femme. She nods toward Miho.
"Yeah, it's like that." Her grin becomes more of a smirk. "...Though, I'm sure a lot of 'em wouldn't object if that were the case too."
The desire to be lifted by a Tall Woman is almost universal.
Yua doesn't like desks, and Shinobu nods as she complains.
"Right?" She agrees, in full understanding. She talks about her students, too, and so does Miho - and Shinobu's expression softens. "...You really care about 'em, huh?"
Active and dynamic... That's a good description, she figures.
"That's pretty much it." Shinobu agrees.
Yua compliments Miho's haircare technique, and Miho replies - and Shinobu can't help but smile.
"...That's really sweet." She observes. "I guess doin' it for someone else makes the difference. It stops being a chore you have to keep up with and becomes something you can do to help make their day better."
She chuckles, though, as Yua expresses her appreciation for short hair, too. ...She can definitely imagine the kind of electricity bill they get for that.
"Oh yeah? So you went through with it?" Shinobu replies, looking toward Miho as she says she helped inspire her. "Glad I could help you out, then. Yeah, that's just draining. You've got better things you can do with your time."
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"It so sucks." Yua asks if she's going home tomorrow every day, and every day she says, mouuuuuuuuuu...
(Hiroki joins in, when he's in her arms, with a sad little uuuuuuuuuuu... though luckily, they're too far away from him for him to be all that worried about them right now. His room is supposed to be pretty small, he still needs to learn about situational awareness!)
"Mm, mm! Later! Up later!" Yua sighs, beleagured, as she says: "Doctors are so mean! They said I can't have up until my stitches heal better... sooo rude! And you're right, you know," she adds, grinning to Shinobu. "I bet any cat would be thrilled with Mimi ups! Hee hee, but they're just for me!"
(Dr. Matsuhashi probably had to be the one to explain that Yua needed to be careful with her stitches in that way. ... the doctors who work here full-time probably don't even realise it's at issue.)
"But I'm very high status," Yua boasts, hand to her chest, and it might sound obnoxious except that she says it in such a cute way. "After all, I'm with Mimi...!"
And of her students, she nods, firmly. "They told me to get them back in school! So I did! They shouldn't fuss so hard about how I did it!" ... and they should fuss a little more about why she did it, in some cases. Yua wouldn't shed too many tears if the Order's influence in the education system came to light...
... sadly, she can't tell Shinobu that part. (The last thing she needs is another visit from the Black Mask...) So instead, she just sighs, smiling to Shinobu with a touch more defeat in her eye for some mysterious reason. "I always wanted to teach them how to dance," she says. "I was a strange child, but when I learned to dance, I learned how to people, too! A lot of confusing things made sense to me when I realised it was performing! I thought... if there's kids who are struggling, I can show them!"
(Wait, is that why Yua's always hamming it up? Is she constantly putting on a production???)
"We love dynamic! Mm, mm! You're dyna-mighty!" Yua says it with a bit of a lilt, so it sounds a lot like 'dynamite-y'...
is she wrong tho
Yua -- who, in hospital, has no makeup and no cute fake nails and not even perfume in an effort to make Hiroki comfortable -- is immensely relieved to hear she's still cute. "Yeah!" She chirps, happily. "Yua-chan works real hard! Oh, but Mimi works hard, too! All those hairdresser appointments...!" Yua needs to go in for occasional trim maintenance -- as much as she's resolved never to cut her hair, sometimes split ends do happen, even careful as they are -- but Miho has a constant battle to keep her hair short but not too short.
"And then Mimi works hard with my hair, too," Yua sighs, pressing a palm to her cheek, and for a moment she's just lovestruck out in the open as if she's not ten miles deep in the closet. Her day is definitely better with brushie brushie.
"Yeah! Mimi's a security consultant now!" Yua chirps, brightly. "She gets to pick her own hours, and her own jobs...! She's home for dinner much earlier much more often these days! And she doesn't have nearly as many stories about awful men who don't respect her!" That is not, technically speaking, no stories. ... her co-workers still include men of the conspiracy, after all. But Yua's noticed that it's definitely gotten better now she's out of the office--!!
"Ahhhh," Yua adds, kicking her little feet, but not too much because there's still a hole in her gut and that never stopped being a thing or anything, "I want to make dinner for you again, Mimi! They should let me go home...! I can't say 'welcome home' when I'm not at home!!"
<Pose Tracker> Miho Ijuuin has posed.
Very sucks.
"Later," Miho agrees. "Yes..." She could take care of Yua!! But... well, it's probably better not to risk her stitches. Miho can be at peace with that. There is, though, the matter of all the other cats. "Indeed," Miho agrees. "Just Yua." Hiroki will also get ups but it's different. ...And Miho hasn't exactly gone out of her way to inform the doctors here; she's had her hands full beating back the attempts at surveillance.
But indeed. "Many would not." But Yua, "You are. As you should be."
Yua's students... Miho knows how much she cares. "She does," Miho agrees with Shinobu. "...I had the chance to see some of them on a fencing trip," she says, "At Gekkoukan. It was rewarding."
"So much in life is performing," she agrees than with Yua. "Even the things that seem natural, sometimes--no, perhaps especially those things."
Dynamitey. True.
But Yua? The cutest. Forever. "Of course, that's someone's hard work..." Not so much Miho's.
Shinobu, though, calls it sweet, and Miho nods. "Yes. Doing something for someone else.. it's a different way of being, than doing it for yourself." A new job, though!
"I did," Miho confirms. "Thank you. ...And it really is."
There are indeed some such stories--some clients don't favor a woman's instruction, either. "It's much better," she agrees. And then--
"I'd like that,' she says. "In time... we'll have that again."
<Pose Tracker> Shinobu Shimizu has posed.
They're all in agreement. And up will have to be later, too.
"You'll just have to make up for lost time when you're healed up." Shinobu says - and laughs, with Yua says that Mimi ups are just for her. She has a right to be proud of that...
From anyone else, that boast would definitely be obnoxious, but it's much easier to handle coming from Yua.
"As long as the students are happy, that should be the important thing, right?" Shinobu comments. Miho mentions the fencing trip. "Oh yeah? That must've been cool for them - not every day you get to see a professional at work. ...Sounds like you got a lot out of it, too."
She knows a few Gekkoukan kids. She wonders if any of them happened to be in attendance for that.
She spots that slightly defeated look from Yua. She wonders, briefly, what drew it out of her... but she considers, instead, what she says next. Dance... and learning how to people. That is is something to wonder.
"It's good they've got somethin' like that. Some kids just need a different approach. They're all their own people, you can't expect 'am all to react to the same things." Shinobu comments. "If I had an outlet like that growing up, maybe things woulda been different."
She can agree, though, that there's a lot of performing in life.
"...Yeah. For sure. Wish it was easier sometimes, but... that's how it goes." She agrees. She's a straight-forward person, who tends to wear her heart on her sleeve... but even she has to put on a face and perform every now and then.
'Dyna-mighty', however, gets a smile back on her face. Shinobu laughs.
"I like the sound of that." She replies with an approving nod. It does sound pretty cool...
Yua speaks of hard work - and it is hard work, keeping track of and attending to all that. But it's true that it's someone else's, too.
"I can tell." Shinobu comments. That lovestruck sigh gets a smile out of her - it's cute. She nods back to Miho. "It sounds nice."
She wonders if she'll be like that, someday.
Yua enthuses about Miho's new job, and Shinobu listens intently.
"Hey, that's pretty great. Congrats, Ijuuin-san. Sounds like you're in a much better place now." Shinobu offers. "Fewer stories like that, the better."
She can imagine the kind of people she has to deal with - and she wouldn't be surprised that it does still happen.
Yua wants to make dinner for Miho again, and Miho assures they'll have that again.
"I'll be cheerin' for you both. Here's hoping you get better soon, Yua-chan." Shinobu says.
<Pose Tracker> Yua Ijuuin has posed.
"Eee!" Yua bubbles, happily, hearing Miho agree, and she nods vigorously to Shinobu. "That's right! Lots and lots of makes!" Some of them might be 'outs' instead of 'ups'...
Her nodding is at least more serious as regards the students. "Mm, mm! They should have outlets they like! Oh, but Gekkoukan... remember?" She's sure she hardly has to ask Miho, as she turns to Shinobu: "We really got to see how talented Kirijo-kun is! She went toe to toe with Mimi, and even scored against her! Mimi still won, but if she keeps working hard, I bet she could be a real challenger for the Olympics...!"
Yua giggles, as she adds: "I'm kind of borrowing that analysis from Mimi... but it makes sense to me, too, because Kirijo-kun reminds me of how Mimi was back in school." Yua isn't an Olympian fencer, but it just so happens that Miho is her favourite topic, so she has a little insight of her own.
"Oh, but I picked up a sword that day, too...! Yamagishi-kun was shy about trying it out, so I wanted to encourage her... but it was scary to stab!" Yua pauses, and adds: "It's okay, now. It's not as scary any more." ... now she's stabbed for real, that is. But did her pantomime of stabbing help equip her for the real event...?
Luckily, for mysterious reasons, no one in this room is likely to inform Fuuka of that.
"I don't mind performing if I don't have to lie," Yua says, which might at first seem counterintuitive, except of course that they all know the knid of closet performances they have to put on. She throws her arms out, as she declares -- well, first, a yelp of, "owp!!", because her hand hit the head railing on the bed, and a quick glance to Miho to add, "I'm okay! Um, but it makes sense to make things realllly obvious so people at the back can see, too! Pretend I stretched my arms out real big!" SHE TRIED! THE HOSPITAL BETRAYED HER!!!
Yua still sparkles, though, as Shinobu accepts dyna-mighty.
"Oh, that's true, the hairdresser is working hard, too... but Mimi has to find time to go, and then recover after your go, too!" Doesn't everyone have to lie totally flat after every trip outside? That's normal, right?
"Yay! I like Mimi's new job much better, too!!" Yua's cheer emits happy little daisies, but then --
Hearts! Hearts and three notes, a triad which repeats when she hears Shinobu's reaction. "Eee! Mimi, Mimi! Nobumizu's cheering for us!" Yua smiles, all a-sparkle. "See, see! That's bian solidarity! I'm happy...!" She brings her little fists up to her cheeks, beaming. "We'll cheer for you, too, okay? Go, go, Nobumizu...!!" She even pumps her fists in front of her as she does, like a real cheer.
Sure, she might have to destroy her for secret work, but that doesn't mean she wants Shinobu to lose.
Go, Shinobu...!!!
