"This is my duty!"

Though she presents as a normal girl at school, Aigis, named for the aegis of Greek mythology, is actually an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon, a robot with a soul created by the Kirijo Group to hunt down Shadows. The technology used to create her was lost ten years ago, as were her sisters. Now Aigis fights alongside SEES in their quest to end the Dark Hour--but according to her, her true top priority is to "be with 'them' always," i.e. the two transfer students whose Wild Card abilities earned them the spot of SEES field co-commanders. Aigis does not have an explanation for why. What she does have is a wealthy database of puns for every occasion, programmed into her by Shuji Ikutsuki.

Background

February, 2002: Aigis is manufactured.

May, 2002: Aigis' initial activation; after some initial missions her memory is wiped and she is put on standby.

September 10th, 2002: Death is unleashed and wanders the city. Aigis is reactivated in response. Aigis catches up to Death and defeats it. During the battle, the Arisato parents die on the Moonlight Bridge. Unable to destroy Death, Aigis seals it into their child. Aigis is heavily damaged in the aftermath and doesn't reactivate until years later.

August, 2012: SEES visits Yakushima Island. Aigis re-activates, seemingly on her own. After helping SEES to defend an Evoker-less Minato and Yukari from a group of Shadows during the Dark Hour, she joins SEES and now resides in their dormitory in Iwatodai.

Persona

A guardian statue in ancient Greece, stolen from Troy, that protected the city in which it was enshrined. It is said that Athena was so saddened by the death of her friend, Pallas, that she had the wooden statue made in her image.

Palladion appears as a young woman wearing a golden centurion helmet with bright-red plumage and a flowing robe decorated with gold trim around her waist and shoulders, her skin and robe colored with the green-blue patina that comes with rust and age of a Greek bronze sculpture. Accompanied with the sound of whirring gears and arcing electricity, sections of her from the torso upward reveal themselves only as mechanical shells and separate in a manner similar to that of an action figure in order to allow a spinning elongated laser cannon resembling a drill-bit to protrude outwards, revealing Palladion's true nature as a mechanical simulacrum: a weapon first, a mere facsimile of a person second.
