Seven Sisters High School
Look at me! Follow me! Don't rely on me!
Look upon this work, ye juveniles, and despair. The statue of Principal Hanya in the Seven Sisters courtyard feels like an immense waste of money to glorify a man everyone despises, and this is true, but the inscription makes it seem all the more infuriating.
What are these contradictory statements supposed to say to teens trying to navigate their way to adulthood? Whether one likes it or (more likely) not, these words signify an underlying theme for students at Seven Sisters High School:
You made it. You've done everything right if you've got here. So why does it feel so unsatisfying? What should you want your future to look like? The adults in your life pressure you towards a future so contradictory to your desires, yet still some ask you the question: what do you want?
Do you even know?
Well, don't ask Principal Hanya! Not only is his guidance messy and contradictory, but he's dead, so he couldn't clarify the way forward even if he would. And he wouldn't.
Sevens is reeling right now from the death of their principal by the Joker Killer--not because he was well liked, because he certainly wasn't, but because his final act before death was to prove the school's reputation mattered to him more than justice. Specifically, he publicly derided former star track athlete and third year student Anna Yoshizaka for becoming a victim in a hit-and-run incident that ended her dreams, then told her to hurry up and drop out. The faculty of Sumaru City's most elite prep school may prove this man to be an outlier, though, because the rest of them seem quite involved in trying to help the students navigate their way through life.
Either way, delinquency is as idolized as high achievement is here because these two extremes seem representative of what teenagers ought to want for themselves. That duality is best represented by the two most popular boys in school, Tatsuya Suou and Goro Akechi. It's almost as if being human is as messy and contradictory as the message on the statue, which is even more upsetting because somehow this jerk illustrated a great point without meaning to.
Primary Schooling
Seven Sisters High School has a middle school associated with it, though it isn't in the same building. It's known as Seven Sisters Middle School. People who apply for a character who attends Sevens High are free to establish in the app that they've been attending since the start of middle school or that they transferred in from a different school system at some point.
Campus
Sevens has a gorgeous campus in the Rengedai District of Sumaru City, and is only a short walk away from the foothills of Mount Iwato. It combines traditional design features in the old clock tower and strong thematic of the Pleiades in the school's naming with a well-funded campus and elite faculty that are very invested in their students' well being. The main classroom building is three stories, with a clocktower that until recently wasn't functioning. All that changed after Principal Hanya's murder, and now the clock tower has started to work again. Strange! Best to ignore it and enjoy the expansive outdoor fields for sports and the courtyard that connects to the gymnasium and cafeteria. Rumor has it that so long as you wear the Sevens emblem, you're safe from that horrible Joker Killer. Hooray!

Prominent Students
- Tatsuya Suou - Arguably the most popular student in school, Tatsuya Suou is known as a man's man for being a motorcycle enthusiast, albeit one with a reputation for being hopeless at fixing things. His delinquent image is rumored to have begun after his father was fired from the Konan PD and jailed for corruption. While indisputably well-liked, he's abruptly spending less and less time on campus, spurring talk of his mysterious doings and whether he'll be expelled at some point for his continuous absences.
- Goro Akechi - The "Second Coming of the Detective Prince" is rarely on campus due to being in high demand by the police for consultations and the media for TV appearances. Still, despite his many absences, everyone knows he had an arrangement with the recently deceased Principal Hanya for remote learning accommodations in exchange for his name being attached to Sevens' prestige. He's clearly earned it too, as he's nearly always at the top of his class. Between that, his boyish good looks, and his sweet smile for all his fans, he's assured to always be in the running with Tatsuya Suou for the spot of most popular boy in school.
- Lisa Silverman - Raised in Japan her whole life, Lisa Silverman is the child of Japanophile parents who emigrated to the country. Speaking fluent Japanese with some quirky Cantonese interspersed, she's managed to endear herself to her classmates despite how white she is. Recently, it was announced she and her best friends Miho "Mee-ho" Ogishima and Mami "Sheba" Shibata have been scouted to form an upcoming idol group, skyrocketing her popularity to new heights.
- Anna Yoshizaka - The former Sevens track star whose career unfortunately came to an abrupt end when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver. She's been withdrawn ever since and spends more and more of her time at Club Zodiac. Her best friend is Tatsuya Suou, whom no one mistakes as her boyfriend--maybe because even she doesn't know what he's up to these days, maybe because of the sapphic devotion of her track underclassman, Noriko Katayama. While her circumstances would earn her no shortage of sympathy, dark rumors have begun to follow her around ever since the driver who hit her and Principal Hanya both turned up dead by the Joker Killer, leading many Sevens students to believe she made the calls.
- Chika Ueda - Chika Ueda, nicknamed Chikarin, is a first-year reporter for Sevens' newspaper club and one of the most well-known Rumormongers in Sumaru City. With her endless energy, she always has her finger on the pulse of the latest gossip and news around town, and is one of the speediest rumormongers active, albeit one with a reputation for being a little sloppy. Most often she's found in the Peace Diner in Yumezaki Ward rather than her clubroom at Sevens, or else hanging out with her best friend and fellow club member, Miyabi Hanakouji.
- Miyabi Hanakouji - The lead editor of Sevens' school newspaper, Miyabi Hanakouji is known both for having a promising future in journalism and for being the childhood sweetheart of the Death Boss and 'Leader' of Kasugayama High, Eikichi Mishina. The pair are the envy of all students at Kasugayama High and even many Sevens students for having such an aspirational romance.
Prominent Faculty
- Principal Hanya (deceased) - Brutally murdered in his own office in front of his own narcissistic picture series of himself from infancy to adulthood. Oh well. He only got his position due to receiving a really good Wang Long reading anyway, but all the good fortune in the world didn't save him from the Joker Killer.
- Interim Principal Maya Okamura - Currently taking over Principal Hanya's role in the interim is the Japanese history teacher, after the former vice principal at first declined then outright resigned out of fear of also being brutally murdered. Nevertheless, she wasted no time setting up shop in Hanya's former office, decorating it with relics of Japanese history. This includes a centerpiece behind her desk that she insists is the true Otegine, one of the three Great Spears of Japan that she located again herself after it was said to be lost. This is in no way concerning to anybody.
- Akinari Kashihara - The world history teacher is a happily married man who takes frequent hiatuses not only to spend time with his celebrity wife and son but for his archaeological journey to crack the mystery of Sumaru City's founding. Enjoys the occult as a fun side hobby but certainly not an obsession. A respectable published historian, students find him generally a little absentminded but genuine about his passion of teaching people the real history of the world.
- Saeko Takami - A popular Japanese language teacher who also serves as an on-again-off-again guidance counselor. Saeko Takami is often thought of as the best teacher at Sevens for her sincerity towards involving herself in her students' problems and trying to help them find a sense of direction. Known for personally converting multiple delinquents onto the straight and narrow. Formerly a teacher at St. Hermelin High School, though good luck getting her to talk about the SEBEC Scandal or the Snow Queen Crisis.
- Oriri-Sensei - A bespectacled, middle aged man who teaches Japanese composition. He's known for his indecisiveness in most matters, and is often called 'Really-Sensei' for his propensity towards asking 'Really?' multiple times within the same sentence.
- Aishi-Sensei - A mathematics teacher who despite being extremely young is considered mediocre by the students for his attempt to often sound pedantic by saying 'I see' so frequently as to the phrase losing meaning.
School Uniform
The color of the tie signifies your year. First years are assigned green ties, second years utilize red ties, and the enviable third years wear blue ties. Where do the girls wear the Seven Sisters patch? That is the eighth mystery of Seven Sisters. No one seems to know the answer.
For gym uniforms, both boys' and girls' uniforms are an inverse of their school uniforms color-wise: white tracksuits with black lines on the sides, black zippers, and black lines down the sides of the sleeves and pant legs. There's a detail of black stars on the right pocket and right breast, similar to the stars on the emblem.
Swimsuits are similarly styled, with a white body, black lines on the side, and black stars across the breast.
OC Guidance
Sevens is the school for characters who ostensibly made it to a good high school. Now what? They're not outcasts, per se. They're the people who seem like they have everything good going for them but still feel unsatisfied, unmoored.
Or perhaps a tragedy occurred which has set them adrift, such as Anna Yoshizaka, no longer having the thing that previously defined her future. So what's next? Also appropriate are concepts where the person's future is focused on a goal that prevents them from truly ever considering what comes after.
If your concept has this idea of futurelessness that comes despite doing what society has asked of them, then Seven Sisters may be the correct choice for your character!
