Known as the second coming of the Detective Prince for his good looks, charm, and clever deductions, Goro Akechi presents himself on TV as an earnest boy-next-door type reaching out for the truth. This is, in itself, a lie. The real truth is that he uses his picture-perfect smiles to mask a jaded youth whose solves are made as much from cunning and subterfuge as from conclusions drawn from objective observation. Competitive to his core, Akechi always strives to win while maintaining his cool rationality, and constantly challenges others in ways both subtle and overt. For all his two-facedness, though, he does truly want to be a hero and strike down what he considers evil.

Tell us more about yourself, Akechi-kun. Everyone's dying to know more about where the newest teenage Detective Prince came from.

Ah well... That's a little embarrassing. I'm not really the type to talk about myself like that.

So humble! Don't worry, it's just a few words... about your family, and where you grew up. How you became the admirable young man you are today!

And usually I'm the one doing the interrogating! Well, if you insist, but please go easy on me.

Of course, of course! Though I make no promises for everyone watching at home.

My, the pressure. You'd think I was taking my entrance exams all over again. Well, my mother died of illness when I was very young and my father left overseas years before that under mysterious circumstances. To this day I've never met him. His disappearance is the one mystery I've yet to solve...

So you're saying...

Yes, essentially: I was an orphan. I grew up quite poor... and I went through many challenges. The system is not kind to children who have lost their parents. Still, I got through these times thanks to the mystery novels my mother left me. Even as a child, I read them over and over and was inspired to overcome my circumstances. During my third year of Middle School, I witnessed a most despicable crime. A police officer, sworn to protect the public... allowed a young mother to die, in order to loot her valuables like a common thug.

As a middle schooler! This would be the police corruption scandal in Sumaru City, where you first came into the public view?

Yes. I tried to report this to the police but I wasn't believed. Understandably so, who would take the word of child over a police officer? I became determined to get justice for this woman and through careful, methodical work... I was able to build a case for the Prosecutor's office, and the man was arrested several weeks later.

Some of your detractors have criticized you for undermining the public's view of police departments all over Japan by tarnishing their reputation. Do you feel as if they have a point?

Ah. This is why I turned down your broadcast's invitations for so long...

It's not my intent to ambush you! Just, the public wants to know how you feel about the criticism you've received. Won't you answer?

The answer is no. I fail to see why you would merit that opinion enough to air it at all. A justice that cares for such things as 'saving face' or 'reputation' is no true justice at all.

Robin Hood (Justice): As Akechi's Persona, Robin Hood cuts a heroic profile, of exaggerated musculature in a sleek suit of gleaming colors and masked in such a way as to show his inspirations in both Western superheroes and Tokusatsu. One can almost imagine an inspirational theme of his arrival to save the day playing, as his cape flutters in the wind; Golden Bow taking aim at all injustice within his sight.

A legendary archer and bandit from English Folklore, Robin Hood arose to combat the injustices of Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham. With his band of Merry Men, he redressed the abuses of the era by robbing the rich and powerful, and giving a portion of his gains to the poor.

Special Skills

As an Ace Detective with celebrity credentials all throughout Japan, Akechi has a myriad of skills which are perhaps too numerous to list. And even if they could be listed, he wouldn't want them to be, after all - if someone knew what he was good at, they'd also understand what he isn't good at! ... And that'd be mortifying.

1. Smooth Talk (Charm): While painfully socially awkward when interacting with other peers his own age, Akechi knows exactly how to endear himself to adults or by leaning on his celebrity status to butter someone up before turning things around and the person realizing far too late they're being interrogated.

2. Second Coming (Academics):  The Second Coming of the Detective Prince ruminates on a problem, deducing his way to the answer. Beware if he gets lost in thought for too long though!

3. Warning Shot (Proficiency): Whether by actually firing a Ray Gun in the Metaverse, or by setting up circumstances to warn someone away, Akechi lets someone know to 'back off' so to speak.
